It all happened so quickly. A minute ago, Gerard and I were sitting silently in the car. The next thing I knew, Gerard was screaming as glass shattered onto the back of my head, leaving a long cut on my jawline. It took me a minute to realize that I had just flew forward with so much force and my head hit the glove box. Gerard's face was scratched up too, and his leg was caught on something near the side of the door. Both sides of the car were compressed together.

I couldn't see too well, considering that I had just hit my head pretty hard. The glass had come from the back and the front windows of the car. I squinted to see that there was a car behind us that crashed into the rear end, causing us to collide with another car in front of us as well. It was a three way car accident.

"Gerard?" I said frantically as he ripped off his seatbelt along with mine.

"My leg is stuck." he winced painfully and tried to pull it out.

"Gerard!" I yelled and looked behind me. The back of the car was burning, the flames movies closer.

"Just get out! Try to pry open your door!" He yelled back.

"I can't just leave you," I said shakily, feeling the heat on my back.

Now, we could hear the ambulance sirens in the distance. I reached over to try and push Gerard's door open, but he nearly screamed in pain. My hand began to sting, and I looked down at it to see the skin blistered and burned from the fire.

"My leg, oh my god." Gerard groaned.

I squeezed his hand as tight as I humanly could. My vision began to go fuzzy as my head pounded. My head fell to the side, and I saw the ambulance team rushing to us. The last thing I saw was the door being pried open and Gerard shutting his eyes tightly.

I woke up and had to squint my eyes.

The white light above me was so bright, making my head feel as if someone had drilled holes in the sides. I sat up, looking around frantically. My breathing sped up, and my forehead felt hot. I could tell I was on the verge of passing out again.

There was a curtain dividing this room in half, and I looked down to see myself laying in a hospital bed.

The memory came back so quickly after that. Gerard and I had gotten into a horrible car crash.

"Gerard?" I said in a panic, breathing heavily.

"Open the curtain. Now."

I heard a mumble from behind the curtain that divided the room. It was Gerard's voice.

"Gerard!" I said loudly and shot up from the hospital bed as a doctor opened the curtain.

Maybe I stood up too fast. My head pounded again and I ended up slumping onto the doctor that was at my side quickly. She ordered that I lay back down, so I did. I didn't think my head could take much anxiety right now.

"You have a major concussion from hitting your head," she told me. "Take it easy. Mr. Way will be alright. His left leg was split in four different places."

"Oh my god," I breathed out. "How bad is he-"

"You have third degree burns on your hand as well," the doctor said. "And we stitched up the cut on your jaw while you were out."

"How long have I been out?" I asked immediately. I could feel my arm, but not my hand.

She flipped through pages on the clipboard in her hands. "Roughly eleven hours. It's morning now."

I ran my finger along the stitched up cut on my jaw, and then winced. It was always a bad idea to touch wounds.

"I'll be back in five. Stay in bed," the doctor said and walked out of the room with the clipboard.

I slowly got up and cautiously walked over to Gerard's hospital bed.

"Lay down," he said and patted the side of the hospital bed next to him. "It's not good for you to be up and moving yet."

Looking into his eyes, I laid down next to him. "H-how bad is your leg?"

"Hurts like hell," Gerard said. "Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. They gave me pain meds, but they barely work. How about you? Your hand looked terrible when I caught a glimpse of it."

"I don't know. I can't feel it." I shrugged. "Nerve damage."

Gerard closed his eyes and put his head on my shoulder. "What did we ever do to deserve this?"

"I honestly have no idea," I replied. "How are you gonna tour?"

"We might have to push off the tour for a while." He sighed. "We're lucky that we haven't booked anything yet."

I stroked his white hair, and he kissed the side of my face. We laid in the same position for a while, before he fell asleep. The doctor didn't come back, so I fell asleep too.

When I woke up, there were three people standing in front of Gerard and I. I had to squint again to see who they were, because the light was so sensitive to my head. They all had smiles on their faces and flowers in their hands. It was Ray, Frank, and Mikey.
