The wind whistles in his ear as he stands among the long grass, the slow sunset waving goodbye made him feel incomplete, as if a part of him is missing. He could hear his brother's nearing footsteps flattening the grass they once played tag in when they were younger.

"What are you doing out here?" Gabriel nearly trips over a reed but regains his balance. "Aren't you cold?"

The younger didn't move, watching the sky turn dark.

"I think we should go back," Gabriel grabs his arm lightly. "Or Mother might get mad."

"So what if she does?" Enzo pushes Gabriel's hand off, "I don't care."

"You don't mean that," Gabriel sighs, rubbing his neck, "I don't want to get into trouble, if we go back now we can make it back inside for dinner-"

"Gabriel," Enzo sighs. "Just leave me alone."

"Is this about Saad?" Gabriel asks. "He's leaving tomorrow, isn't he? It's okay to feel sad about it, one of our closest friends are leaving the country, of course you're going to be upset."

"Do you agree with what Mother says?" Enzo felt the sun burn his eyes. "About gays being evil, that Aalayah and Tobias are going to Hell?"

"No," Gabriel gulps before continuing. "Do you?"

"That would be ironic," Enzo turns to face Gabriel, tears down his cheeks. "Considering I am in love with a boy."
