"Help me carry this basket," his mother hands him a basket full of food. "I can't believe you were just standing there and not offering to help me. This town's store is not as good as ours.."

Enzo meekly follows his mother around the store, only thinking about one thing, a person to be precise.

"That makes me sick," Enzo looks up to see his mother covering her eyes. "Can't they do it someplace else? Enzo look away, you might catch it."

"What are you-" he looks to the right to see two men holding hands, smiling at each other, oblivious to her. "Oh."

He thinks about all the times his parents have openly kissed in public.

"Didn't I tell you to look away?" His mother harshly grabs him by the arm. "And you! Don't you have any self respect? The Lord is watching!"

"Mother.." Enzo's voice is barely a whisper. "Please, stop."

"You're both going to burn in Hell!" She raises her voice, her finger waggling in the air, "I know it's a sin, a wretched sin!"

"Stop it!" Enzo shouts, throwing the basket onto the floor, the food spilling out. "Don't you have any self respect?"

"Enzo.." she brings a hand to her mouth. "Who do you think you're talking to?"

"A nasty woman," Enzo nearly growls, "I hope God is merciful to you, do you really think He doesn't love them as much as you? You have got all the teachings wrong, please, change your ways."

"How dare-" before she can finish Enzo is already running out the door. "Enzo!"

He did not give a second of thought to the honking of cars when he sprinted across roads, nor the angry curses from the people he bumped into and pushed. He knows what he needs to do, he knows he is stupid for not acting upon it before; now it could be too late.

"Please still be there," he chants as he runs around the corner to the street. "Please."

To his happiness his car is still parked in the driveway, his parents in the front seats with their seat belts on.

"Wait!" Enzo screams at the top of his lungs, running towards the car. "Stop!"

"Thank God," Enzo sighs, the people in the car look at him in confusion. "I- well, can I talk to him for one moment? I forgot to give him something important."

"Enzo?" Enzo smiles. "What are you doing here? Please don't tell me you have ran all the way from your house."

"My mother and I were shopping nearby," Enzo explains, suddenly getting nervous. "You?"

"At the moment," Saad chuckles, scratching his neck. "I'm on my way to the airport, we're actually late so.."

"Wait," Enzo grabs Saad's hand before he can return to the car. "I need to tell you something."

"Couldn't you have just messaged me?" Saad questions, looking down at their hands. "What is so important that you had to come in person? Enzo, you really are peculiar."

"I'll take it as a compliment," Enzo takes his hand away, "I don't know how to express it in words, I'm not even sure how you're going to react."

"That's alright," Saad smiles, widely. "Express it through actions then."

"You might not like it," Enzo rambles quickly. "I thought I didn't like it until-"

His words are caught into someone else's lips, soft lips that calms Enzo, his arms fall to his sides and all he can think about is one thing; how gentle kissing is now his favourite thing in the world.

Saad broke away first, grinning. Enzo smiles bashfully before whispering in Saad's ear.

"No homo."
