POV: Childe had something important to tell you.
"Childe?!" You call out in the fogged air. Your feet made a "crunch crunch" noise as you walked in the snow. The sun you could tell was only just starting to set, as it became harder to see out into the distance. You could almost feel your heart pounding as your call was only answered in a rush of wind. You then remind yourself to never EVER trust Childe to be on time. The past times you've relied on him to show up he never came. And if he did, he ends up being 50 minutes late- in battle, this leaves you in need of a Tevyat fried egg to the face.
"Traveler!" You finally heard as you see a figure running at you in the distance. Though you could only see at least five feet infront of you, this figure seemed to have completely stood out against the fog. You almost collapsed when Childe approached you and ruffled your hair. "Sorry, some of the Fatui wanted to know where I was headed." He apologized, as you take his hand and put it away from your head. "Excuses, excuses."
Childe leans against a tree as he looks at you with his soft yet mysterious azure blue eyes. You find the contrast between his sunny orange hair and ocean blue eyes a relief, her also a facade. As though he is hiding his true, horrifying appearance behind an innocent Snezhnayan traveler. You remember your first time meeting him in Liyue all those months ago, when he was just a scrappy Harbinger looking to find the gnosis. And while the two of you remain on not so good terms, you've grown to at least tolerate him enough to know that he won't hurt you or snitch behind your back like he did in Liyue. And unlike Signora, you can at least look at him in the eyes long enough without getting horrific memories.
"What's up?" You shift yourself back into reality as you glance at Childe, leaning against a tree. You notice his left foot holding the tree in place, while his body pulls itself into the tree. It was as if he was unfazed by Dragonspine's violent winter weather. "Traveler, I have traveled all seven nations in Tevyat. I have seen what others have not, and fought in the scariest of battles, even ones against archons. But there's still something that runs in my head.." as he says this, he stops leaning against the tree and strides towards you as you hear the soft "crunch crunch" of the snow beneath his feet. He lowers himself to your height, as he grabs your arms and moves his mouth towards your ear. You could almost feel the warmth of his mouth against your ear as he begins speaking: "I ain't never seen two pretty best friends.. it's always one of them gotta be ugly."
This stops you dead in your tracks. As he slowly rises to his height, you feel yourself getting heavier and heavier. "Childe?" You call out, but he is nowhere to be seen. As though everything you've just heard, everything you've seen, everything you've remembered was just one long memory.
"It's just me and my weapons.." you mutter to yourself as you and Paimon set out once more to find your missing half.
