Today we'll be talking about two topics. The first one is a continuation of the last chapter from that Twitter post.

If you guys don't remember, basically the post talked about Genshin characters that are confirmed by Hoyoverse to be trans. The user gave a list of characters and confirmed their identities.

"Razor is confirmed to be nonbinary" is one of them. According to the user, it's an instant confirm because his one voice line (English translation) said: "When I run with you, when I hunt with you, I am happy. With you, I am not a wolf, I am not a boy, I am just me. I am Razor. Because you are my friend. You are my Lupical. I hope you feel happy, too!"

Razor is saying that as an overall kinda thing..... something I notice Westerners do a lot of is taking things way too literally, word for word.

For example, two Chinese Genshin voice actors (I can't remember who they are - I want to say yae miko and ei or eula and amber) were talking to each other and one of them referenced a character and called her "girlfriend". This isn't meant to be taken literally. It's really common for Chinese people (and some other Asian cultures) to call someone by a title but not actually mean it.

Sometimes people will use these titles as a joke. I call some adults my "aunty" and "uncle" because they're close to me. But it isn't meant to be taken literally. No, those people aren't actually my aunt and uncle. I just call them that because of how close we are.

Same thing with brother and sister. I have this one friend I call my "sister" a lot because she's so close to me. Is she actually my sister? No.

For that voice actor, she was only joking around but no surprise - Westerners took it seriously and used that moment as "proof" that those two Genshin characters are "canon lesbians".

Second topic - people hating on Diluc's English voice actor, Sean Chiplock.

Why? Only because he criticized Genshin fans and I guess that made some of them pissed off.

Sean made a Twitter post that quoted: "Why don't more Genshin VAs interact with the community?"

Then he put: "The Community:" and linked a post that showed that dumb moment when Genshin fans gave bad reviews to different apps because they were upset about something (can't remember what).

Because of his post, he had fans attacking him and sending him death threats. Those fans are so toxic and cold to him - it's sad. But honestly Sean isn't missing anything lmao.. it's good he's staying far away from the Genshin fandom. I swear a lot of the people here lack their own thoughts and just blindly listen and believe whatever they see.

Yeah, my book is all about ranting and sometimes I'll do some educating, but you guys are free to do your own research too. I'm just here to.. well, rant, and share some perspectives. Ignorance is something that can be fixed by being educated. So tired of people trying to shut others down and think their morals and opinions are superior.

Even if you don't use the English dubbed, is there a character you like the voice of? I like Albedo, Eula, and Childe.
