Credits to @Adoriingly for the topic suggestion! Today's chapter is all about Lumine and Aether - Who's the REAL Traveler? This is still unfortunately an ongoing problem for some reason.

For those of you who don't know, Genshin has a WEBTOON (which is a site where you can read a lot of different webcomics), and from what I remember (please correct me if I'm wrong!), Aether is the MC in it while Lumine is the "bad twin" aka the one who sides with the Abyss.

While this is true, it's important to understand that because the video game allows the player to pick between Aether or Lumine to be the MC, nothing is wrong with people referring to Lumine as an MC too. Both Aether and Lumine are the MCs/protagonists and people really shouldn't be arguing over who is the "real" or "better" MC.

There is a fair share of hate on both sides, but personally for me, I esp see the hate showing against Lumine more when it comes to fanarts that artists post.

For example, there's an art of Lumine at the Lantern Rite Festival with other Liyue characters like Xiao, Keqing, Ningguang, Zhongli, etc. The caption doesn't mention anything about "Lumine is the better MC" or "Lumine > Aether" - the artist only talked about how much she loves Liyue and the festival:

ugh why lumine for the MC? so annoying to see all these fanarts with her when she isn't the canon MC.

Don't come @ me, but Aether is the better MC. His design and personality is better overall, and he isn't a pick me girl like Lumine is. Like it's okay if you like her more or whatever, but acknowledge that she's the evil twin--not Aether. Artists drawing her as the MC sends the wrong message to players.

I'm SO tired of these Lumine stans!! Aether is the MC in the Webtoon for those who didn't know (y'all should read it)! I regret not picking him bc he's way cuter 🥺

Ofc, the ship fanarts get more backlash, esp from the people who enjoy gay ships. I found a Lumine and Xiao one and some comments were putting their hate on Lumine while others claimed that Xiao is gay.

Pls do Xiaother it's the only right one 😭

I can continue on, but I think the point is clear here lmao. If you play as Aether, Aether is the MC. If you play as Lumine, Lumine is the MC. Both Aether and Lumine are great. Liking one over the other isn't a problem either as long as you guys don't go harassing other people and making weird comments like the ones I posted in this chapter.

Be respectful. Be open to hearing other people's thoughts. Have polite convos. Ask questions if you don't understand or need clarification.
