Sangonomiya Kokomi x Kujou Sara
School AU
~~~
The school's festival is fast approaching, class representative Ayaka and class secretary Tohma calls their classmates together discuss what they'll be doing for the event.
"How about we have a dog show! Taroumaru can show everyone his cool tricks!" Yoimiya suggests. Unable to keep together her excitement she jolts up from her seat, her hands slam her desk. "We can-"
"Hmm, It's a nice idea but I'm not sure it'll cut it for the festival. No offense Taroumaru." Tohma replies.
The mentioned shiba inu whimpers, but quickly returns to a happy, tail-wagging state when the next classmate raises his hand.
"Do you have something in mind, Gorou?"
"How about a school play? Kokomi can be our script writer, she's quite good at that." He smiles at his classmate.
"Me? Ah, I'm not that great and all but if you insist. I'll do my best."
"Oh and Baal would be the main character!" Yoimiya remains excited despite her idea being turned down.
The majority of the students within the room turn to their seatmates, whispering to each others ear. All because Baal seemed to be such a controversial person because many found her intimidating.
Tohma clears his throat. "Would you be alright with that, Baal?"
"I believe Yae would play a better main character."
"Oh Ei, but it looks like everyone wants you to play the main character." Yae laughs. Such an eloquent laugh, it makes the rest feel like the two are in a world of their own.
Much like Sara who was unknowingly glaring at Kokomi.
---
"There you go again, giving yourself more workload."
When class ends for the day and the students are free to leave the campus, Sara is following the visibly tired now assigned scriptwriter.
"I can handle it, I just need to get a few hours of rest and I'll be back to working in no time." Kokomi stops in her tracks to let Sara catch up. "You really don't have to worry about me."
"How can I not worry about you." Sara mumbles. "You're already part of the student council, and Yae told me that the council has been working restlessly to prepare for the festival, why did you so easily accept the duty as scriptwriter?!"
"Our class has placed their hopes on me for the script. Yae is busy too but she agreed to taking part in a major role with Baal, so I have no excuse."
"Hmph." Sara turns around and leaves.
"Hey, wait. Did you want to come to the café with me? I heard it's got a real nice atmosphere since they have a bard playing music."
"I thought you have work to do."
"I can do a bit of my work at the café. So will you join me or not?"
"Fine." A bit of warmth rushes up to her cheeks, she runs her fingers through her hair to distract herself from the awkwardness she felt.
"I guess you could say we're going on a little date!" Kokomi says, taking Sara's hand.
"D...date." She couldn't decide if she was more surprised that Kokomi called it a date, or that her hands weren't as smooth as they appeared.
"Yeah! A friend date. Are you unfamiliar with the term? Maybe you should stop being so uptight with others."
"Are you trying to insult me."
"Not at all, it's just a word of advice from a friend." Kokomi winks.
"Since when did we become friends anyway."
Sara slows her walking pace and hesitantly looks towards Kokomi, wondering if she was too harsh with what she just said. "I-I'm sorry that was too harsh of me."
"Do you not see us as friends, after all this time we've known each other? I wouldn't mind being your enemy though. Have you heard of the enemies to lovers trope? It's rather interesting."
"How silly of me to have thought you got upset. And enemies to lovers? What does that have anything to do with this?"
"It's just as I said." Kokomi grins, a cheeky look. She adjusts her hand, and from a simple hand holding their fingers were now intertwined.
"What are you doing?"
Sara asks, and they both stop. Just the two of them on the sidewalk, a few people passing by, minding their own business.
When it came to Kokomi, she could never understand her own feelings or what her friend's motive is.
"I was just teasing you, your bewildered face is adorable. You worry so much about me overworking myself but seeing you act like this restores my energy in an instant." Kokomi giggles.
"You make no sense. But whatever, we should get going or it'll be too late by the time we get to the café you were talking about."
