*Third person, no ones P.O.V, Cathedral*

Thomas- So after we had some lunch we went out to fight some more monsters and treasure hoarders. While fighting she showed me some really cool moves and taught me more about verurteilung so now I kind of want to visit that place.

Sarah- you don't seriously believe her do you?

Thomas- of course not! But I can at least humor her. It makes her happy.

He says with a small smile recalling his adventures with the Prizessin, as the male smiles a small blush starts to creep along his face while he thinks about the girl. Noticing the blush now apparent on his face his female companion feels a gnawing sensation growing in her gut.

Sarah- 'cool it Sarah, it's nothing'

Thomas- anyways I'm gonna go report to Jean she's probably wondering where I've been. See ya!

Sarah- Wait!, couldn't you.....I don't know? Maybe stay here, You know just a little longer?

She asks a blush now enveloping her face confusing the male slightly before he reluctantly agrees and sits back down in front of her.

Thomas- so, how's the leg?

Sarah- Fine, Barbara came back and splashed me with water at first I was confused but then my leg felt so much better at once, so there's that I suppose.

Thomas- cool cool.....

Sarah- how about you? When I came crashing down I saw you hanging out with some green haired girl.

Thomas- Sucrose? Yeah she's sweet.

He says another smile and blush accompanying his face as he tells her about the small journey he and the alchemist went on to retrieve the items for her flower as he does the girl once again notices the blush and the gnawing sensation comes back stronger than before.

Sarah- 'how many girls did he hang out with while I was away?'

Thomas- But even she pales in comparison to Noelle who's just about the sweetest and nicest girl I've ever met, even more than you, heck more than Eliza even!

Sarah- 'at least three apparently' Thomas, I wanted to talk to you about something

Thomas- Yeah what's up?

Sarah- it's about us and how we're supposed to get out of here

Thomas- yeah, I've been thinking about that too. The portal won't open until we find a source of magical or science-y energy strong enough to breach a hole through dimensions and even then Jean and the other knights won't let us go until we've rebuilt their city.

Sarah- so we should escape

Thomas- Pardon?

Sarah- escape!, let's get out of here. Once night falls we can flee though the cover of the night they won't suspect a thing and if anyone tries to stop us we can fight them!

Thomas- Sarah I-

Sarah- Think about its full proof! We escape and they get us out of their hair since they clearly don't like us, it's a win-win!

Thomas- Well sure but-

Sarah- But what?

Thomas- I don't know, these people seem really nice it'd be mean to just abandon them after destroying their city

Sarah- you said it yourself Thomas, it was self defense and the only reason their city is in ruin right now is because they attacked us!

Thomas- I know but, come on we can't just leave them like this. We swore an oath to help those in need no matter how bad

Sarah- I know that, but this could be our only chance to escape and move on. Don't you want to go back home?

Thomas- of course I do-

Sarah- don't you want to see Aub-

She starts before having a bullet getting fired into the wall right beside her head, looking up she finds the male glaring at her fiercely a gun in hand and a cold look in his now blood red eye.

Thomas- Don't. You. Dare. Mention. That. Name

Sarah- I'm sorry, it just slipped out-

Thomas- forget it!, look we'll talk about this later right now I have a job to do I'll see you soon.

He says getting up and walking away not waiting for a response from the still in shock female as she brushes the side of her head and feels some of her hair missing from where the bullet passed watching his fleeing from she thinks.

Sarah- 'Thomas, I'm sorry I didn't mean it'

*Third Person, no ones P.O.V., Jean's Office*

Jean- Where have you been?, I leave for a quick excursion to storm terrors lair and I come back to find you nowhere in sight with your tasks piling up by the minute!

Thomas- I know you're mad BUT! I did go around helping others. I helped sucrose with some experiment of hers and helped the adventurers guild by clearing out some hilichurls so there's that to consider.

Jean- Hmm....very well I suppose I can excuse you this time. Anyways I have your next task right here. I need you to help Lisa out in the library as her load of paper work is almost as big as mine right about now.

Thomas- Got it!, oh and sucrose mentioned something about you overworking yourself? 

Jean- I'm touched by your concern but I'm fine really I am

Thomas- okay but if you ever need work life balance advice or some stress relief give me a holler ey?

Jean- I'll do that

She says watching the male step out her office before turning to a large pile of papers on her desk, looking at the papers her mind thinks back to what the male had just said.

Jean- 'maybe I will take you up on that offer'

*SCENE CHANGE LIBRARY*

Thomas- *whistles in fascination* Wow, now that's a library 

He says out loud in adoration at the massive library standing before him, turning around he sees many books of different shapes and sizes, colors and text, some hard back others paper back just lots of books everywhere as you would typically find a library. Walking around whilst still gazing at the books wondering which one he should check out first his thoughts are suddenly interrupted by a flirtatious voice calling him, looking up he finds the purple dressed witch from earlier standing there.

Thomas- Lisa?

Lisa- Yes that's my name, don't wear it out now darling

Thomas- Darling?

He asks confused but rather than giving him an answer the librarian simply tuns around and walks off motioning for him to follow. Leading him to a large mahogany desk he finds a CRAP TON of papers sitting there.

Thomas- Good Lord, how many over due book complaints do you send out at once?

Lisa- Several as people seem to not grasp the idea that library books are NOT to keep. *Ahem* Anyways as you can tell I need help sorting these paper and filing them out so best get to it!

She instructs plopping down at her chair and grabbing the nearest stack of envelops. Following suit the male grabs his share of papers and starts tearing them open to read.

Thomas- Heh, seems like someone really likes you Lisa

Lisa- Yeah I get about a thousand of those a day just toss it in that pile over there

She says gesturing towards a massive pile of envelops tucked in a nearby corner. Tossing it and grabbing another this one reads.

Dear Lisa

I am so sorry for forgetting the due date of the book I borrowed '25 shades of Light black' but I lost it, don't worry though I promise I'll return the book as soon as I find it

Thomas- over due book tragic 

He mumbles grabbing another finding another book that's overdue and another and another and another and many many more books that have yet to be returned. Slamming the last letter down the male shouts.

Thomas- JESUS CHRIST DON'T ANY OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR LIBRARIES!!!

Lisa- Shhh!

Thomas- sorry, but come on i have never seen this many books being over due I mean seriously how hard is it to remember to bring a damn book back and if you to keep it longer just renew it and extend your period.

Lisa- It is quite bothersome when they don't bring their books back yes, which is why WE'RE gonna get them back ourselves!

Thomas- I'm in, let's teach those bastards a lesson

He says getting up and grabbing Lisa by the hand pulling her out of the library and into the market district once there he turns to her.

Thomas- who's up first?

Lisa- Well since she's right there we might as well get Sara first

She says walking up to a booth selling food behind the booth stand a blonde haired girl with red eyes wearing maid like attire.

Sara- welcome to good hunter what can I get you?

Lisa- my book back 25 shades of light black, it was due three weeks ago

Sara- Oh right! I'm so sorry I keep forgetting to bring it back

Thomas- well stop letting your library books get overdue is terrible 

Sara- what like destroying half our city and then trying to guilt trip others for such a minor offense

Thomas- just give us the damn book woman!

He shouts angrily watching Sara go into the back room and come back with the book, handing it off to Lisa with a friendly goodbye and seemingly forgetting Thomas was there they move on to the next perp.

Lisa- next is Timmie who checked out 'how to slaughter a blue jay' why that boy checked out such a graphic story is beyond me but I'm not to judge.

Thomas- and where is he?

Lisa- just out on the bridge I'll let you handle this one while I get another

She says walking off towards the tavern, stepping out of town and walking along the bridge he finds a young boy sitting on the edge reading a book. Tilting his head to read the title it says

To slaughter a blue jay

Thomas- such an uncreative title

He says walking up to the boy and taking the book from his hands before turning off and walking away ignoring his protests. Stepping into town he's immediately bombarded with cold stares and clearly rude thoughts by everyone around him. Walking deeper into town the stares only colder and more plentiful.

Thomas- 'maybe Sarah's right maybe we should get out of here'

He thinks not watching where he's going and bumps into a random pedestrian, leaning down to help them up he's met with a sharp slap to his wrist and another cold glare before the person storms off muttering some he couldn't understand but doesn't need to to know it wasn't friendly. Continuing to walk off his ears pick up to the whispers around him just a couple being.

Stranger 1- Ugh! It's that crazy stranger again, what's he still doing here?

Stranger 2- no idea but hopefully he leaves soon and he can take that blonde witch with him too

Stranger 3- I heard Jean made him a knight

Stranger 1- why would she do that? Doesn't she realize that nobody likes him!?!

Stranger 3- tell me about it, he's nothing more than a terrorist and a murderer and the sooner he vanishes from this world the better

Thomas- 'screw this, these people hate me and I can't blame them either. If they want me gone so bad then so be it as soon as night falls I'm out of here'

He says returning to the library to find Lisa there several books in hand, walking up to her desk and slamming it down he gives her a brief excuse for him leaving before turning off however before he can take a single step he feels a strong force keep him back and turns to find Lisa grabbing him by the wrist a sympathetic look on her face.

Lisa- I know whats wrong but don't let them get to you, just give it some time they'll warm up I promise

Thomas- yeah.....I'm sorry but can I just leave now I don't feel comfortable at this moment

Lisa- go ahead I'll tell Jean what happened and we'll reschedule for another day

Thomas- thanks

He replies softly before stepping out of the library and back into the cathedral to find Sarah there trying to stand up but failing miserably and only ends up slamming her nose into a nearby pillar.

Sarah- Ow!, Barbara I need you!

Thomas- you were right let's get the hell out of here

Sarah- what? Ow...

She moans in pain gripping her nose tightly trying to stop the bleeding, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small piece of cloth he hands it to the girl before telling her all about the cold stares and rude words tossed at him from everyone in monstadt.

Sarah- I told you, we're not welcomed here and the sooner we leave the better. I know it, they know it and hopefully you do too.

Thomas- I do. But we can't leave just yet.

Sarah- why not!?!

Thomas- because Jean still owes me money and I'm not leaving without it with all the rude remarks I've been getting all day you can bet I'm taking all the money I can from those people. Listen Jean should pay tomorrow once she does we wait til night fall and then we leave and never come back. I stole some books from the library and found out about some people called archons who are apparently gods here, they live in a massive castle in the sky if we can get up there and "convince" them to help they should have enough power to breach a hole into the next dimension and then we can get out of here.

Sarah- sounds good

Thomas- until then, I'm gonna find a nice secluded area and take a long nap the sooner i can get through the rest of today the better.

Sarah- goodnight.....oh and about earlier about Aub-

Thomas- forget it, it's cool. Goodnight Sarah.

He says walking off to find a suitable place to sleep ignoring the stares and whispers of those around him. Climbing to the top of a large tower he finds the softest bricks there and lies down using his lab coat as a blanket.

Thomas- 'only 30 hours and then I'm out of here. Goodbye Monstadt and good riddance'

He thinks coldly before quickly falling a sleep not aware of the darkness that approaches in the distance.

*IN THE DISTANCE*

???- and the abyss mages are totally on board with this plan?

Random Treasure hoarder- Yes we've managed to convince them to join our cause

???- good, now begone I can hardly stand to look at you weaklings let alone speak to you

Random Treasure Hoarder- Yes master!

He says with a quick bow before running off leaving the mysterious figure alone with their thoughts.

???- I hope you're ready Thomas Bracksen because in 24 hours time we're gonna reduce the little town you call home to rubble and then I will have my revenge. You will pay and suffer for what you did to me that day. That I promise.

Hey it's me, sorry for the shit chapter I really couldn't think of anything to write for this chapter as I'm not the biggest fan of Lisa and couldn't think of any good stories for libraries I also didn't want to just do another basic hilichurl murdering chapter either, don't worry though the next chapter should hopefully be a good one. Once again I'm sorry but look forward to Jean next time. Stay Pretty ya'll.
