*third person, no ones P.O.V., Jean's office*

Jean- Alright I've got your first assignments right here

Thomas- lay them on me, come on give them to me!

Jean- optimism is good, it'll keep you alive. Anyways for you *gestures towards Sarah* your first assignment is to help captain Kaeya on his scouting mission today, you'll be traveling all over the land mapping areas and fighting monsters so be ready.

Sarah- I was born ready, when do I head off?

Jean- right now, Kaeya should be just outside this door waiting for you

Sarah- Alright! Bye Thomas!

Thomas- see ya try not to die!

He jokes receiving a playful punch to the shoulder, turning back to the acting grandmaster he asks.

Thomas- so what's my job?

Jean- YOU will be helping our outrider amber clear out some nearby hilichurl camps that've been getting to close to the city for comfort.

Thomas- more of this hillbillie crap?

Jean- yes, maybe now you'll start taking me seriously once you find out that they are in fact a real thing.

Thomas- listen gorgeous *leans on her desk* I can see anything you want with my own eyes and believe it to be true but I still won't ever take you seriously.

Jean- just get out there!

She demands a small blush now accompanying her face up to the compliment she just received.Deciding to heed her commands the male simply gets off her desk and steps outside the door, finding a nearby guard he asks the whereabouts of said outsider he's supposed to partner up with today though due to their recent attacked he received only a cold stare before being rudely brushed off. Seeing as nobody was going to help him, he decided to just wander around until he eventually found this "amber" chick, and here we are now thirteen minutes later with male still wandering around aimlessly.

Thomas- OH MY GOD WHERE ARE THEY!?!

???- where's who?

Thomas- Huh?

He says turning towards the new voice behind him to find a short brunette girl wearing a very red outfit with a red headband that resembled bunny ears.

???- Are you lost, do you need help?

Thomas- Yes, I'm looking for someone named Amber

Amber- that's me, outrider Amber!

Thomas- finally!, Jean said we're supposed to partner up and take out some hilli-whatchamacallit's.

Amber- wait so YOU'RE Thomas?

Thomas- that's right-GAH!

He starts before being interrupted by the brunette pulling out her bow and pointing an arrow straight as his throat a look of pure rage now accompanying her once friendly face. 

Thomas- what is with you people and pointing sharp things at my throat!?!

Amber- SHUT UP!!!, why did you attack our city!?!

Thomas- this again?, listen red I'll tell you what i told your grandmaster we attacked only in self defense, you attacked first!

Amber- Self defense, you call THIS self defense!?!

She shouts gesturing behind her towards the now ruined city filled with crumbling building, torn up streets and missing watchtowers leaving massive holes in the outer wall leading to hordes of slimes breaching the city.

Thomas- you think this is bad? You should've seen what we did to Midas's kingdom, haha Poor sucker was left sobbing in a massive crater

Amber- Midas who?

Thomas- that's not important, now I know you would really like to skewer my throat right now-

Amber- correct

Thomas- but according to Jean we're supposed to work together and as much as you hate me I'm sure you like Jean more.

Amber-.....................Correct.

She sighs admittedly removing the arrow from the males throat and putting away her bow. Clasping his hands together the male then turns towards the city exit, well one of them anyway.

Thomas- lead the way will ya?

Thomas- you know that's not nice, my face is beautiful, it shouldn't have to have arrows fired at it like that.

Amber- whatever I need constant practice to maintain my perfect aim and some good motivation never hurt either.

Thomas- oh yeah, well what if I-*Hmph!*

He starts before being cut off by amber who slaps her hands across his mouth shutting him up

Amber- shut up!, we're here

She says gesturing towards a small camp nearby, turning towards the camp the male sees several scrawny creatures with fuzzy white hair all wearing white masks with intricate red details, some carry clubs, while other have crossbows or shields and in the center stands a much larger monster with black fur carrying a massive axe.

Thomas- hillbillies I'm assuming?

Amber- It's hilichurls and yes, also that large one is called a metachurl

Thomas- so what's the plan?

Amber- you get in there and fight, I'll back you up from afar, but first.

She says before knocking an arrow, keeping it held in her bowstring the arrow then starts to glow brightly before bursting into flames, once it does she fires it at a nearby red barrel blowing up several hillichurls and alerting them to their location.

Amber- alright let's do this!

She says running from to find a good vantage point and fire arrows at them whilst the male summons anarugi(remember the silver and green katana from earlier) before charging in to fight them. Finding his first target he jumps into the air blade held above his head before slashing down hard on the poor monster and slicing it in two before moving the next, finding two right new to each other with a barrel in between them he gestures towards the nearby outrider, understanding his final the girl then fires another arrow at the barrel blowing up and killing the two leaving three plus the big boy. Turning around the male barely dodges a massive axe that was about to cleave him in two, deciding to ignore the big one for now and focus on the small ones he runs past him leaving amber to fire ineffective arrows at it and finds the last three hilichurls charging him like brave idiots, putting away his sword he then summons a jet black shotgun with golden details and fire a single shot at the three instantly killing them all.

Thomas- and these guys give you all trouble?, please I've fought droids stronger then them in my sleep.

Amber- save the snarky remarks for later and help me out here-AHHH!!!

She screams as the metachurl destroys the tower she's standing atop knocking her towards the ground in perfect axe swinging range, trying to get up to dodge the female finds her legs trapped underneath rubble and can only watch in horror as the beast ready his axe now ablaze due to a nearby pyro slime.

Amber- 'this is it, Oh barbatos just make it quick!'

She thinks fully expecting a painful demise as the metachurl swings it's axe straight down, closing her eyes tight she prepares for the worst but is met with nothing at all. Slowly opening her eyes she finds Thomas standing there who blocked the axe with his metal hand now ruined as the blade cut straight into it a look of pure agony blanketing his face as he turns to the outrider.

Thomas- well you just gonna sit there and watch?, SHOOT IT!!!

Amber- right!

She says getting up and charging her bow even further before the red vision of her hip begins to grow brightly.

Amber- LET IT RAIN!!!

She shouts firing an arrow into the air before several more start raining down on top of the monster killing it instantly, unfortunately a few also happened to hit the male leaving him in even more pain.

Amber- Oh my god Thomas, I'm so sorry!!!

Thomas- hey, what's with the concern all of a sudden

Amber- think of it as recompense for saving my life, and......why?

Thomas- why what?

He asks pulling the arrows out of his shoulders and back.

Amber- why did you risk your live like that?

Thomas- *sigh* listen I don't like you and you don't like me and the sooner I can finish these jobs Jean assigned for Sarah and I the better because it means I can get out of this stupid dimension and never see any of you again, BUT I'm still a hero and I made an oath to protect anyone who's in danger no matter how much I don't like them. Listen I'm sorry for attacking your city and leaving it in ruin I suppose sometimes I can get a little out of hand when it comes to these things and might take things too far when fighting. You people seems like a nice lot really you do so I'll help you out with rebuilding your city and fighting off these hilichurls.

Amber- hey you said it right that time!

Thomas- I know I'm proud of myself too. So until it's time for my departure what do you say we work together to take them out one camp at a time?

He says holding his hand out to her.

Amber- I'd like that

She replies a soft smile on her face as she takes the males hand in her own and leads them down a nearby path towards another hilichurl camp.

Thomas- I wonder how Sarah is doing with Kaeya?

Amber- oh I'm sure they're fine!

*MEANWHILE* 

Sarah- KAEYA A LITTLE HELP HERE!?!

She screams desperately dodging punches and rockets from a ruin guard in hot pursuit of her as the male simply watches from afar.

Kaeya- you've got this, just keep you head in the game!

Sarah- I HATE YOU!!!
