— gyuvin's pov.

ricky, gunwook and gyuvin finished their evaluation exam five minutes ago, so they were free to walk in the university campus. well, until gunwook noticed something. "no fucking way." gunwook says, tapping gyuvin and ricky aggressively. "look at them."

the three notice the duo of hanbin and mei walking off after their evaluation exam. "did the uni students finish earlier or something?"

ricky shakes their head. "they ended just now, but mei was sat near hao, where is he?"

"oh my god! we should go!" they hear mei faintly say in excitement. "thank you!"

the three college boys share a look, and gyuvin grabbed both of their arms. "let's follow them?" he smirks cheekily. "then we can see their true friendship."

"but what about hao—" ricky interrupts.

"nah he has renjun or something, let's go before we lose them."  gunwook whisper-shouts, pulling the two to 'tiptoe' following the duo.

if you saw three over 6 foot men tiptoeing outside a university/college campus, would you be fucking terrified? if so, that's exactly how everyone reacted to the trio. just three silly boys trying to follow their friends.

gyuvin sighs, "fucking hell where are they going?" he reaches a wall and leans against it. "should we just ask hanbin?"

after texting, the three then found the two sat on a bench, with only mei eating the strawberry ice cream. "you think hao would like to see this?" ricky laughs.

the results of mei's first evaluation exam is that she found it really fucking easy. she knew that even without studying she could've aced it. now all she wanted to know is that if she beat hao or not (she probably did).

her first two weeks were fine. she surprisingly got close with renjun's group and hanbin's group fast and her behaviour was already getting better as she was more nicer.

this obviously doesn't include youngjae and the rest of the uni, since she's only planning to be close with the ones she's close with right now.

currently, as a post-exam treat, hanbin decided to buy the girl ice cream outside of campus since they had a free day today.

"how did you think you did?" mei asks, taking a bite of her strawberry ice cream (that ricky forced her to get). "it wasn't that hard in my opinion."

"probably fine, i'm never sure about my rank." he chuckles, his hand cupping his face as he stared the girl. "so you think you did the best?"

mei nods. "i feel like i could get full marks. but if hao gets full marks too then i'm gonna be mad."

"you're both capable of it." he smiles, "just keeping that top student girl pride huh?"

"obviously, the reason i came here was to maintain my grades." when she finally looks up at him, she notices his eyes sparkle a little. "do you want some?" she offers.

he grins and nods, he would be lying if he didn't say he didn't want to have some. "please?"

mei chuckles and takes a small spoonfull of the ice cream, "i'll feed it to you."

hanbin smiles at her (there's probably never been a time he wasn't staring smiling at her..) and opens his mouth, allowing the older girl to feed him.

"do you like it?" she asks. "why didn't you get one for yourself?"

hanbin awkwardly laughs. "not.. hungry."

"you sure? you can have the rest of mine if you want? or i can buy you one–"

"no! it's okay, i bought this for you anyway." he waves his hands in refusal, "eat it, it's your treat."

"positive?" she asks, taking another spoonful for herself.

"positive." he nods. "anyway, where do you want to go after this?"

"probably home, you can come too if you want." she checks the time, 13:34. "i can get my driver to bring us back."

"oh i have my car.."

"oh! well we can go in that right?" she chuckles, making him smile (again).

"obviously, you're always in my car." by always, he means under ten times. "i won't mind."

mei smiles. "you're too nice sometimes hanbin." she instinctively pat his head. what she hasn't admitted yet is she probably just has a soft spot for him, but then again, who wouldn't?

hanbin's cheeks flushed and he clears his throat. turning the other way. "after you finish your ice cream we can go."

mei happily nods. "this is really good. do you want me to pay you back?"

"no? why would you?" he laughs, finally facing her again after his short flustered pause.

she shrugs, "why not? this looks expensive."

"YOU'RE expensive." he says, "look at your outfit." he points at her really designer-looking outfit. if one person was an it girl when it comes to university fashion, it would definitely be her.

she rolls her eyes. "whatever. anyways, are you feeling better after you were in a mood that day? you made up with hao didn't you?"

he nods. "i think i was just worried for you, sorry. but, what happened back there? you were crying and you mentioned youngjae."

she halts putting the spoon into her mouth, "i.. did?" she almost gags at the thought of it.

"yeah.. you were crying saying you felt bad."

mei clears her throat, placing the almost done tub down. "um, i'm full. take the rest." she insists, then giving it to him.

hanbin looks at her in confusion but takes it, noticing her uncomfortable expression. "so.. can i know what happened?"

"oh! right." she laughs, fixing her hair. "well this girl from my old school who's obsessed with hao was apparently shouting at me for being close to him. so she slapped me and i pushed her, that's it."

hanbin's mouth went agape and for the amount of time it was open, the ice cream could have been fully melted into a liquid already. "that was yunji?"

"you know her?"

"yeah.. hao knows her for being obsessive. i would usually protect him from her, now i know why i recognised her that night." he says, still taken aback.

mei sighs. "well yeah yunji and youngjae dated recently, i think they broke up the day i got kicked out of my old uni."

"no way, really?" hanbin gasps. "that's so weird.."

mei shrugs. "it's not like i care. they're irrelevant in my life right now."

hanbin smiles. "that's good then." he looks down at the melting ice cream. "hey, um. can you keep talking as i finish this?" he looks up at her, accidentally making some strong eye contact.

mei chuckles, "okay you do that binnie."

"what?" he chokes, resulting to mei patting his back.

"are you okay?" she laughs a little.

"no nothing!" he shouts, still a bit startled by the simple nickname. "actually, i'm done. let's go." he says, showing her the empty tub.

she laughs at his cuteness. "okay, i'll put it in the bin for you." she quickly takes his tub and gets up, walking by herself to the bin not too far away.

hanbin was still dazed from the new nickname and her actiom earlier. he knows full well she's just being really nice to him, but he couldn't help but get a little excited.

mei walks back and locks her arm with his. "where's your car?"

hanbin looks down at her. "literally right there." he points at his car parked a few meters away. mei nods, dragging him to the car.

"wow i really do feel like a passenger princess sometimes." she laughs, watching hanbin open the door for her. she quickly sits in and he closes the door.

as hanbin gets into the front seat, she quickly checks in the mirror to make sure her makeup looked fine. "oh and, is it okay if we stop by the market near my place? we can buy ourselves some snacks."

hanbin puts his seatbelt on and hums. "yeah that's fine. i'll pay again."

"no i swear to god." she sighs. "hanbin i'll pay for it, you payed for me last time."

"you spent money on my carkeys and the necklace that were probably expensive, i have to pay you back somehow."

she shakes her head. "no. trust me, you don't need to do that."

hanbin rolls his eyes playfully, "look at you being all nice again."

she hits his arm. "hanbin!"

once the two finished buying snacks, (so fucking sorry guys but i am not writing over 100 words about shopping for snacks at a supermarket xx) they got back into hanbin's car and they soon reached mei's house.

"hanbin!!" her mother hugs the boy, "welcome back to our house, are you hungry?"

hanbin chuckles, shaking his head. "no, thank you ma'am, mei wants to bake."

"MEI WANTS TO WHAT???" she gasps. "hanbin she doesn't know how to do any of that... sorry. she's lived with chefs her whole life."

mei walks in. "i want to bake."

"mei baby are you sure? the chefs can help you, or even make them for you–" her mother says nervously.

"nope we're baking, bye mother!" she grins, taking hanbin's arm and dragging him to her kitchen. she asks the chefs to leave and go on a break in their garden.

she turns to hanbin. "okay so, i know i'm a top student and all but i have absolutely no experiences in anything cool like this." she chuckles.

"no worries, you can start off and i'll help, it's a cake isn't it?" he asks, leaning against the counter.

she nods. "yes, but before we start let me give you this." she laughs, taking out a pink apron from a cupboard below her. "you're wearing this."

hanbin sighs. "really?"

"yep, turn around." she demands, making him
turn straight away. he could hear her little giggles as she tied the back for him. she uses her hands to spin him around.

once he's back facing her, he's looking down at her trying not to laugh. he couldn't lie, seeing her all cute like this was something he loved. "thank you."

"of course, can you help me put mine on now?" she asks, putting it on over her head (she's not even going to help bake the slightest) and turns around.

hanbin hums as he quickly ties a knot and she turns around with a smile. "okay, thanks!" he just sends her a sweet smile in return.

"okay, i got box mix since i don't think my chefs or family, or even you can trust me with baking." she chuckles, getting the box out. "anyway, let's wash our hands."

hanbin follows her orders and mei's sink was absolutely huge. they ended up washing them at the same time in the same sink, hanbin accidentally making contact with her hands a couple of times.

"okay, can you like. start me off."

"you really want to do this but you're making me do it?" he laughs. "you're wearing an apron for what reason exactly?"

"i'm a visual learner, i'll watch you and i can help." she chuckles. "and it's cute so why not?"

"wow, i thought we'd have teamwork." he sighs, opening the box mix as mei 'helps' bye getting the bowls and baking stuff.

"appreciate my company." she hands him everything he needed, he couldn't help but laugh at how funny this was.

she scoffs. "no i'm not." the girl quickly takes her phone out and points the fromt camera towards them "wait we look so cute look!" she laughs.

hanbin laughs, "should we take a picture?" he asks, making her nod and get closer to him for a photo.

anyways, hanbin already started doing the mixture as mei was checking the pictures they had just taken. "can i post this one?" she asks, showing him a photo where they're both pouting.

hanbin nods. "that's cute, send me them after. but you better fucking help me after huang mei."

"okay okay wait!" she laughs, posting the picture of them two for her instagram feed. "okay, i'll help now. so what do i do??"

"preheat the oven, i asked you that like five minutes ago." he says.

"oh shit right my bad." she quickly crouches down to her (boujee ass) oven and setting it up and preheating it. "as we do all this can i play music?"

"go on~" he says in a singing kinda voice (what the fuck am i writing🔥🔥🔥).

mei plays love affair by umi on her kitchen speaker and finally goes to hanbin's side. "okay, i want to mix it now, move."

hanbin quickly gives her the bowl and he leans onto the island. "mei what the fuck is that?" he laughs, "you're doing it terribly."

she groans. "okay how do you do it then?"

hanbin puts his right hand on top of hers and he guides her in mixing the recipe in the bowl. "look, like that. do you get me?"

mei hums. "ohhhh, right okay thanks." she smiles.
