San could barely hear himself think over the sound of Yunho and Mingi's bickering.

A couple of days had gone by since the night with Wooyoung, in which nothing of much importance had happened. As of the current moment, he found himself in his bedroom with his two best friends. All three sat on the floor.

"I swear! It's basically slave labor, aren't they sentient?" Mingi argued quite passionately, gesturing wildly as if to emphasize his point.

"No! That's literally their whole purpose!" Yunho fired back with increased intensity. San only stared in confusion, looking at the two throwing distorted reasoning back and forth.

"San," Mingi tried to get the other in on the topic, "tell him he's wrong. The elves are sentient and therefore deserve a wage!"

San only blinked. "I don't know what the hell you two are talking abou-"

"This man," Yunho said, pointing at Mingi, "thinks that Santa's elves deserve minimum wage. I say they have no spending needs and therefore do not."

"You guys are literal children," San remarked.

San merely took out his phone as the two quickly resumed their argument, wanting to distract himself.
He opened his messages with only one person in mind.

San shoved his phone rather hastily in his pocket, although neither Yunho nor Mingi noticed.

San hummed to himself quietly as his best friends' debate continued, reaching wilder and wilder topics as the seconds passed.

Around ten minutes went by before San swore he heard a distant knock on his door, and the sound of his mother speaking downstairs. He didn't know why he suddenly felt antsy, wondering if the boy had arrived yet.

"So, San," Mingi grabbed his attention. "Are you doing anything this weekend?" he inquired.

"Uh, no? Why?" San responded, momentarily distracted by the question.

"My moms were wondering if you and Yunho wanted to come over, we just got a pool," Mingi offered.

"I already said yes," Yunho chimed in as San contemplated the idea.

"Sure, why not?" he answered, with both of the other boys high fiving at their success.

A soft knock came at the closed door, nearly causing San's heart to stop. He remembered his prior suggestion, and found himself wondering what exactly would happen now.

He nearly laughed at the confused look that Mingi and Yunho shared.

"Um, who is it?" San called out, despite knowing fully well who it was.

"It's me..." the muffled, distraught voice of none other than Wooyoung came through the door. "Can I come in? We need to talk..."

Yunho and Mingi shared an absolutely panicked look, one that nearly sent San cracking up into laughter. He held a straight face, however, and sent a look towards the two of apology.

"Maybe now isn't the best time? I can come out there," San offered, trying to act as if the situation was real as best as he could.

"Stop messing around San," said Wooyoung as he swung the door open, now stepping into view of the three boys.
"I'm..." he trailed off, as he glanced at Yunho and Mingi, before setting his resolve.

"I'm pregnant."

A complete silence fell over the room. Yunho and Mingi only stared at the boy, both at a loss for words.

"But... how? Babe, I used protection...?" San went along with it immediately, trying to force back a grin.

"Hey, wait a fuckin minute," Mingi spoke up as he saw a small smile form on Wooyoung's face, the couple both looking at each other in amusement.

"Oh my goddd, I hate both of you," Yunho groaned as both San and Wooyoung broke out into laughter.

"You two looked so startled ahaHA," San tried to calm himself, to no avail.

Wooyoung, ignoring the complaints and whines of the others, softly shut the door behind him and strode over to San. He plopped down directly next to him and leaned his head against his shoulder.

"Wooyoung," Yunho whined, "take your pet and get him out of here, we don't want him anymore," he commanded, sending a look of pure hatred towards San.

"Shut up," San shot back as he reached up to lightly play with his boyfriend's hair.

"Your mom told me to ask if you guys want her to order food," Wooyoung announced, although directing the question more towards San.

San glanced at the other two as if to signal their opinion was needed.

"I already ate," Yunho said, sparing a look at Mingi.

Mingi nodded along. "We got some ramen before we came over..." he admitted as San gave him a look of betrayal.

"Wow," he said, "I see how it is." San turned to look down at Wooyoung.

"You want anything?" he inquired. Wooyoung seemed to contemplate for a second.

"Only if you're getting something. I don't really care," he answered.

San only sighed. "Well I'm hungry so screw y'all," he said in a somewhat joking tone. San stood up, lightly stretching.

"I'll be back in a minute," he said as he padded across the room towards the door. He turned back upon seeing Yunho and Mingi share an evil look. "Don't do anything to him," he warned, sending a pointed glare at his best friends before leaving swiftly.

The door shut, leaving Mingi, Yunho, and Wooyoung alone in the room.

Within a split second, Wooyoung found both boys sitting directly across from him, having moved as soon as San had left.

"So," Yunho said, "I see you're already acquainted with San's mom," he said, giving Wooyoung a teasing look.

"And his dad?? Don't exclude him," Wooyoung replied, deliberately dodging whatever implications came with the comment.

Yunho rolled his eyes. "You know, I don't think my parents have met any of my partners. Consider yourself special," he joked.

"Yeah, Yunho, but how serious were those partners?" Mingi reminded, causing Yunho only to purse his lips as he glanced away.

"Fair point."

"If it makes you feel better I met them on accident," Wooyoung said quietly, as if embarrassed at the fact.

At this, the both immediately perked up. "Huh? Explain," Yunho said in that tone that demanded answers.

"His parents came home while I was here... it was pretty awkward," he recalled. "I mean, to be fair he met mine the same way."

"Y'all are both hopeless," Mingi muttered, amused.

"Aren't your parents, like, homophobic or something? Not to be rude, but... you know," Yunho brought up, treading cautiously on the subject.

Wooyoung sat for a second, thinking. "It's complicated. My mom used to be, but mostly isn't anymore? My dad still is, but now he's just really quiet around me because I think he kinda knows..." he trailed off, the rest of the sentence implied.

"At least San's parents knew about me beforehand. My mom just kinda walked in on us," he shook his head, the memories replaying within his mind.

"He told his parents about you? Typical San," Mingi commented before Yunho lightly elbowed him in the side for it.

"...what do you mean 'typical'," Wooyoung mumbled, somewhat afraid to ask.

Yunho and Mingi shared a look. "It's just that he talks to everyone about you. We can barely breathe without him mentioning you, it's kind of amazing," Yunho teased, obviously exaggerating just a bit.

Wooyoung nervously laughed. "He says good things, I hope?"

Mingi nearly died from laughing at those words. "Are you kidding? Good is an understatement," Yunho added, holding back a grin.

"Deadass, he's like..." Mingi paused, clearing his throat as if to prepare to speak. "Oh, my beloved beckons me! My fairest wonderful love, He is the light of my days. I exist only as a vessel of adoration to Him," Mingi mocked in a purely Shakespearean voice, causing Yunho to burst out into giggles.

"Literally!! God he's so whipped, I'll never forget when he texted me screaming and crying over the fact that you held his hand or some shit," Yunho added, seeing Wooyoung bury his face into his hands.

"It's honestly crazy how far gone he is. He refers to you as his life partner and everything, like..." Mingi returned as Yunho nodded in confirmation.

A short while went by of the two throwing back different exchanges they'd had with San, random anecdotes and things he'd said.

A dull silence fell over the room as Yunho paused from making a comment, glancing over at the youngest in the room.

"Shit, Wooyoung?" Yunho asked, a panic washing over his face as he noticed the aforementioned boy tearing up.

"Oh— hey, Wooyoung, are you okay?" Mingi asked, shifting as to place a hand on Wooyoung's shoulder and rubbing his thumb against it.

"Yeah. Yes, I'm fine," Wooyoung let out a small laugh as he reached up to cover his face with his sleeves.

"Did I say something? I'm sorry," Yunho began apologizing as he too began attempting to comfort the boy, resting his hand on Wooyoung's knee.

After a few moments of trying to console the boy, the sound of the bedroom door swinging open was heard.

San stepped in, ready to announce something, yet paused at the sight of his two best friends' sympathetic words and comforting pats towards Wooyoung, who was still hiding his face.

His expression instantly fell to one of a subdued hostility. "I was just joking, what the fuck did you do to him?" San spoke, causing Yunho and Mingi to both whip around towards him.

"Um..." was all Yunho could get out as San strode across the room to the three, kneeling down as to be across from his boyfriend.

San lightly swatted the pair's hands away from his boyfriend, sending the pair a look that told them to leave.

Yunho and Mingi understood this instantly and nodded, both standing up and hurrying out of the room.

Before they shut the door they left San with a joking salute, one that he didn't exactly appreciate.

"Wooyoung," San cooed softly, placing his hands on his shoulders. "Are you okay, love?"

Wooyoung only sniffled, taking a moment to wipe off his eyes before he could face San.
Upon lowering his hands, San found himself surprised at the adoring gaze he was greeted with.

Wooyoung, a weak smile gracing his expression, simply nodded his head as he reached to clasp San's hands within his.

"You're too perfect," Wooyoung said quietly, startling San.

"Huh?" San said, feeling a bit small under the intense look Wooyoung was currently giving him.

Wooyoung bid no reply, instead crawling forward and wrapping San in a tight embrace as he buried his face in the crook of his neck.

San, a bit confused but not wanting to ask, accepted the gesture and wrapped his arms around Wooyoung's waist silently.

"Can't you tell me what they said to you?" San asked calmly, gently stroking Wooyoung's back.

"Someday I will," Wooyoung replied, rather vaguely.

San let out a small laugh. "What does 'someday' mean? Tomorrow? In a year?" he inquired.

"Someday when we're married and live in a small cottage in the woods, so you can't easily go and kill those two. Okay?"

San fought the overjoyed smile that fought to work its way into his face. He could only bring himself to leave a small kiss near the back of Wooyoung's neck.

"Okay," he agreed, before hesitating. "Does it have to be a cottage, though?"

"It can be whatever you want it to be, I don't care."

San almost shook his head at the reply. "All I can afford is a large tent," he joked, smiling when he felt Wooyoung let out a small laugh.

"I'd be fine with that if it's you," he responded, not knowing how absolutely jittery that made San feel.

"I love you," San blurted out for the millionth time, meaning it as much as he ever had.

"I know. I love you too," Wooyoung returned as he relaxed into San's hold.

He meant those words more than any human being had ever meant it before.

Choi San, deep down, definitely knew that fact.
And he felt the same.
