Genie In A Bottle. Chapter Twelve.
I was scooping up rice in my hands, letting it slid through my fingers when my front door opened and Levi walked in. "Jeez, just walk in like you own the place.", I said, chuckling as I scooped up another hand full of rice and tossed it back and forth in my hands.
"What are you doing?", he asked, coming over to my side. "Oh, I know, your doing some kind of spell, aren't you?".
My eyebrow arched up, a little amused. It was funny how Levi still after all these years thinks I'm a witch. A gypsy isn't a witch, but he doesn't listen. He thinks if we still can put curses on people, we just like 'witches'. "Oh yeah.", I said.
"What kind of curse are doing?", he asked. "Who made you angry?", he asked, leaning down next to my on the counter.
"I putting a curse on you, giving you bad dreams for the next ten years.", I grinned at him. "Yiayia showed me an old spell, I still need a strain of hair.", I said, quickly reaching out and plucked a strain of hair.
"Ow!", he said, reaching up and scratched where I pulled.
"Oh and I'll need blood.", I said.
"Hell I'm giving you my blood. Don't you think I'm cursed enough being a lycan?", he asked.
I chuckled, "Levi, I dropped my new phone in a small puddle and the rice will dry it up.", I said, taking my phone out of my pocket and put it in the rice, covering the phone. "I just like how it feels going through my fingers.".
"Nice joke.", he said, smacking his tongue against his teeth. He put his hands on my waist and kissed me and I wrapped my hands around his neck. I tried to remember why I thought I hated his lips, they were so soft.
"Hey, none of that in my kitchen you to.", I heard my yiayia and I quickly pushed Levi back, blushing.
"Don't know what you're talking about, yiayia.", I said, grinning.
"Ah-uh,", she said, going off in Greek about how she knows how we kids are today. She then walked over to the fridge, "Coffee cake, Levi?",
"Don't mind if I do.", he said, taking the pan and took the plastic off. My yiayia heated up some water and took out some of her herbs to make some tea.
"So what's the plan to protect the forest?", yiayia asked. "What have all of you thought of?".
"Well, we need fifteen hundred dollars still, so we all thought about having a yard sale and a car wash. This Friday in front of the library will be the yard sale and Sunday will be the car wash. We should at least almost have the amount.", I told her.
She smiled and nodded, "Proud of you, Andria.", she said. "You to, Levi.". After the water heated up, she poured up a cup and we all sat at the small table in the kitchen. She brought her hand up to her chest and rubbed a little.
My eyebrows came together in confusion, "Are you okay, yiayia?", I asked.
She smiled at me and nodded, "Of course, I just feel a little under the weather. You know how I am when the weather changes, even in the spring. I'm fine once I'll drink my tea.", she said, but for some reason, it didn't really calm me down. "So,", she smiled, "When should I expect some great grandbabies from you both.".
My face burnet face and Levi coughed on his coffee cake, "Yiayia!", I hissed.
She shrugged, "What? Darling, I am sixty-six years olds now, I would like to be here when you have your own little ones.".
I nervously chuckled, "Yiayia, your one of the most healthiest person I know, I'm sure you'll be here for a long time.".
"Yeah, you know what they say about people who drink a glass of wine everyday.", Levi said. "Even, I doubt I could get a bun in this one for a while. You know how she is—ow!", he said when I jabbed him in his side to shut up. How embarrassing.
She chuckled and rubbed her chest a again and brought her hand up to her neck, rubbing it. She looked a little pale then usually I realized, but I tried not to over react, "Your right, Levi.", she said. "But I do hope I will be here, I would like to meet a child from your family that wont be a lycan.".
Oh my God, when are we going to stop talking about this?, I asked myself. I don't want to have a baby so quick, I mean, of course I will love to have them, but after I do with what I want to do with my life. I want to travel to so many places and I couldn't do that with a baby. I want to hike mountains, go to all the famous beaches around the worlds, go to European clubs, and just live until I want to settle down. Levi never brought kids up before, so I don't know how he would feel about them either. He loves kid, I've seem him around and play with them. It's pretty cute actually, but is he ready for a kid? He is twenty-two after all.
My yiayia start to look uncomfortable as she moved in her seat, "Why don't I open I window.", she said as she got up and opened the kitchen window, leaning against it.
She stood there a moment, her shoulders going up and down slowly, like she was taking deep breaths.
"Oh my God,", Levi said. "Helene, your having a heart attack.".
That's when I let my panic show as I jumped up from my seat and went over to her side, putting a hand on her shoulder, "Yiayia?".
She tried chuckling, "No, no, I'm fine. It's heart burn, I get it every once and awhile."
"No.", Levi said, coming up on the other side. "I know when someone having a heart attack, it's different for women showing. We need to get you to the hospital.", he said. "Come on, I have the car.".
I turned yiayia around and we went outside. I put her in the back seat and I was biting my nails nervously as Levi drove to the hospital that seemed so far away. I looked in the rear views mirror and saw yiayia bring her hand up to her forehead, she looked like she was about to faint.
My stomach turned in fear, "Levi, drive faster.", I said.
"Al-Alexandria, call your parents.", yiayia said, her breaths sounding hard.
I did what she said and my parents quickly rushed from work to join us at the hospital. I decided not to call Anglo, he was out having a good time with Dallas and I didn't want him to worry, he should have a good time here before he has to go back next Friday.
{}
We finally made it there in fifteen minutes and I told the nurse I think she might having a heart attack.
She brought a wheel chair out and told my yiayia to seat down and they wheeled her away. I brought my hands up to my mouth when I went to follow them, but another nurse stopped me, "Sorry, but you'll have to wait here.",
"But—"
She shook her head, "I'm sorry.", she said and I glared at her, my frustration building up and I just wanted to yell at her to let me go with her! She doesn't understand, this is my yiayia and they just want me to wait here!? No, I need to be by her side!
Levi came up next to me and took my arm, "Thank you.", he said, pulling me away from her. He turned me to face him and I snatched my arm out his grasp, "She's going to be okay.".
"How do you know?", I asked, almost yelling at him.
"She made it here and she was awake.", he said. "Andria, I know your scared but you have to be brave.".
"She could have dyed, Levi.", I told him. "I just sat there while she was having it.".
"You didn't know she was having it.", he said. "And neither did she.".
I crossed my arms over my chest, "Doesn't make me feel better.".
He put his hands on my shoulders before pulling me in his chest, hugging me, "I know your scared, Andria."
After ten minutes, my mom and dad finally arrived and my mom looked more frighten then me. We did get her to sit down though and now, all we have to do is wait.
And waiting felt like years to me, I don't know what could happen if I lost her, she one of the most important people in my life and I lost her...I would be lost. I already lost my grandfather from cancer when I was nine, I don't want to lose her right now.
Almost an hour later, a doctor came out and she came towards up, so me and my mom quickly stood up, "Helene Argyris family?", she asked.
"Yeah, I'm her daughter.", my mom said. "How is she?".
She smiled, "Fine, she's doing really fine.". My mom and I sighed in relief, never been this happier in my life I'm sure. "She had a mild heart attack, though. Still serious.".
"How though?", I asked. "She's totally healthy.".
"It's not uncommon, the healthiest person in the world could still have a heart attack.", she said. "We're just lucky right now it was only mild, so you and her will have to be alert just in case it happens again.".
My mom nodded and ran her hand down her mouth, "When do you think she could come home?".
"Will, she demanding to go home now,", she chuckled. "But we're going to keep her over night and tomorrow just in case.".
"Can we see her?", I asked.
She nodded, "Follow me."
{}
"Don't scare me like that again, yiayia.", I told her as I lightly squeezed her hand.
She smiled, "I try not to again, now I know how it feels and be more serious. I really just thought I wasn't feeling well. Good thing Levi was there to realize it.".
I turned my head a little since Levi was behind me and was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest. I turned my head back to her, "I know, it's a good thing. I don't know what I would have done if I lost you.".
She chuckled, "It's going to take a little more then a heart attack to get rid of me. Though I would like to see your grandfather again, I like being here with your mother and you more. And I would like to go home tonight.".
"You know you can't, mama.", my mom said.
"But I feel perfectly fine.", my yiayia whine and I chuckled. "I hate it here, death is all around.".
"I know you don't like it mama but you have to.", she said. "We'll start going on more walks when you get home", she smiled, taking my yiayia other hand. "Just like when I was little girl.".
"Not to interrupt,", Levi said. "I should go, I have to get up really early tomorrow.".
Though I didn't want to leave my yiayia side, I decided to go with him. I didn't very much like seeing my yiayia in a hospital bed just as much as she hated being in one. We went over to an elevator and he pressed the bottom to the first floor.
After a moment of silence in the elevator, the doors opened and we stepped out. When we got outside and near his car, I slowed down and he noticed, turning around confused, "What's wrong?".
I wonder how I start this, "I—tha—", I decided since I wasn't really the mushy kind of person to even give a proper thank you, I stepped forward and kissed him quickly, "Thank you, it was true. It was a good thing you were there.".
"So the means I'm not the most annoying person to be around now?", he asked, turning his head to the side as he raised his chin.
I smacked my teeth and snorted, "Shut up.", I chuckled.
He grabbed my arms and pulled me closer to him, kissing me again. It was a sweet soft kiss, but it still blew my mind a little. He pulled away a little, "Andria,"
"Hmm?", I asked.
"I love you.", he said and my whole body stiffen, my mouth slightly dropping. He chuckled a little, "Don't seem so surprise, after four years you thought it would be brought up?".
My cheeks flushed hard and I lowered my head shyly, "I knew...I just,", I groaned then, not knowing what to say back. I hear my parents say it to each other, Jesse and Kaden says it to each other, I say it to Angelo. So why am I having a hard time saying it to Levi? Do I love him?
Most likely, but to stubborn to say it. But you know what, love can be a scary ride and I love scary ride at the amusement parks.
What the hell!, I thought. I straight my back and lifted my head, "Okay, I love you to.", I said.
"You know, more girls are more sensitive about it, not saying it like a challenge.", he said.
I gave him a 'whatever' look, "Take it or leave it, dude.".
He smiled big, taking it I'm guessing. His arms spread and he trapped me in them, hugging me. He kissed me hard and I actually giggled! I brought my hands around his neck I kissed him back.
