Genie In A Bottle. Chapter Seventeen.

I walked over to Levi apartment door and knocked on it. I bit the inside of my cheek as I waited for him to open it. When he did, he leaned against the frame, "Andria, it's eleven o'clock at night. You should be home."

I took a deep breath and breathed out heavily, "I was erm...wrong." I said, making him arch an eyebrow at me. I shifted my weight onto one leg, "Look, I was wrong about trying to attack Hender with a curse. Yiayia reminded me this isn't what we do anymore, it's something that should be kept in the past."

"And here we were trying to keep telling you the same thing." he said as he turned and walked into his apartment. I went in and closed the door behind me. He walked over to his fridge and grabbed a water, "How far did you make it?"

"I had everything set up but I'm not strong. Not my Yiayia, who apparently powerful since she did the spell to break your curse." I said, falling down on the couch feeling defeated. He walked over and sat down next to me. I turned towards him, "I so badly wanted to help, Levi."

"When nothing can be done, you have to face it." he said. He took my hand and brought it up to his mouth, "Andria, don't forget the children we have they won't have to suffer the same problems as I do. The curse over at the right time because Lycans can settle in this world anymore. Soon maybe in the next hundred years, there'll be no more woods to roam."

I frowned, "Still just wanted to help you so we could stay. But I thought," I said as I got on his lap. "Iowa doesn't seem so bad. I thought about it on my way here. I won't be thinking about losing my life but starting a new chapter in my life. As long as we spend holidays here, I will happily follow you."

He stared at me for a moment, "We travel around first." he said, confusing me. He grinned, "My uncle Don has thos RV he hardly using it. He's giving it away and when I learn the money I'm gonna by it. I thought about doing a Gyspy thing and travel."

I laughed softly, "Where would we go?"

"Canada, Central America, South America. We got allot of places to go to. Me and you, Andria. And that camera of yours and we can just enjoy our lives. Go explore things and just have fun. Then when it's all done, we choose were to settle down." he said. "How does that sound to you?"

I didn't hesitate because it was something I also talked about but that was just it. Talk. I never thought Levi actually listened to me but apparently he did. I nodded, "Sound perfect."

When I gone home, I fell into my bed and slept peacefully at night. When I woke up in the morning, it was peaceful and quiet when I went downstairs. Yiayia was in the kitchen like always, making herself some tea and I kissed her cheek, "Morning Yiayia, how did you sleep?"

"Pretty well." she said as I sat down at the table beside her. I brought my legs up, staring at her and she chuckled, "Yes, Alexandria?"

"You should teach me the healing spell." I told her. Her amused look vanished and I quickly sat up, "Wait please to hear me out. Yiayia, it's every few years we need to do the healing spell. I really hope your here for the next fifteen years. That last generation that was curse gonna take awhile. You never know what could happen."

She gave me a hard look as she stared, "You little brat, I hate it when you have a good point." she said. She fixed her long skirt, "Fine, I will do that but this is the only spell you will learn."

I smiled, "You can trust me to be smart about this, Yiayia. I know to never mess with stuff."

She reached over and patted my hand, "Good."

As the day went on, Yiayia and I sat out on the front porch. I was watering the plants when Levi showed up after his shift at the station.

He nodded at Yiayia, "Yiayia." he said before turning to me. He grabbed my arm gentle to pull me away, "Did you lie to me?" he asked.

I pulled away, "What?"

"Levi?" Yiayia questioned as she sat up.

Levi turned to look at her, "Did Andria do the spell last night? Did it work?"

My eyebrows furrowed together as I grabbed his arm, "What?"

"Well yes she did." Yiayia said, looking confused. "But did it work? No, it didn't because I would have sensed in the air if it did."

"It must have worked." he said. "Because Henders is in the hospital. He had a heart attack in the middle of the night."

I stared at him to see if he was serious but serious look on his face said he wasn't kidding. I scoffed, "Hender is in his forties, it probably wasn't me. Even the spell I did was to scare him with bad nightmares."

"Did you do it right?" he asked.

I shrugged, "Yes...I mean Yiayia you were there to watch me fail at it. I'm not strong enough to do spells that could kill Henders."

Yiayia stared at me, looking unsure even which made me worry and feel guilty. No, this is a joke because my intention was to freak Henders out, not put his life at risk.

"These thing are tricky." she said. "It might have been completed while you were asleep. It was where you were most relax and not focused on anything that the spell might have just worked."

"But the spell I used wasn't to hurt him physically!" I said, bringing my hand up across my hair worried.

"Why do you think we don't use spells anymore Andria! You could want one thing and it'll do the oppsite. Doing them, you need to be very specific on what you want to do." she said. She walked over, grabbing my arms, "Luckily this spell I know how to help him. But since this is your mess, you are the one who needs to do. Ask for forgiveness and bless him."

"Bless him?" I questioned and she nodded. I scoffed, "Ask for forgiveness? I don't have a reason to apologise!" I said as I turned away and crossed my arms over my shoulder. "He's doing wrong by taking away the beautiful parts of earth."

She grabbed my arm and made me face her, "Though you are strong, I know you won't be able to handle the feelings if he dies. God knows what will happen to his soul. You could have tainted it."

"Yiayia!" I said, pulling away as I groaned. She knew me so well, better than myself because right now I can claim I'll never feel bad for the man but I knew if something does it would never leave my mind.

"Andria," Levi said, making me look at him. "You know what's right and what's not." I breathed out heavily, knowing they were right.

I held my bag close to me as the elevator went up to the third floor of the hospital. Finding where Hender was a little tricky since I wasn't family but soon was able to manipulate the nurse into telling me. When the door opened, I took a deep breath and stepped out. I walked down the hallway towards Hender was.

When I got to his room, I peeked in a little. What I learned, the heart attack seemed to paralyzed the right side of his body. I stared at him laying on the bed staring up at a crappy network where they were showing off kitchen stuff. I'm sure he hated it.

I walked over towards him and set the down on the table next to his bed. His eyes turned to look at me and he jerked roughly.

My eyes widen as we stared at each other and he stared at me in horror. I stepped back, feeling a wave of guilt hit me. I thought about just leaving, forgetting this happened but I didn't.

"I'm sorry." I said. I grabbed my bag and opened it. I took out the herbs Yiayia made for me and filled a cup up with hot water. I put the leaves in, letting them soak for a moment. I turned to face him, "Look, I never meant to hurt you. This isn't what I planned. I just--you can't destroy the forest!" I said. He didn't reply, only stared at me with the same scared look.

I reached into my bag, grabbing the piece of paper Yiayia gave me that had the healing spell, "If you want to feel better, you must forgive me. I really didn't mean to hurt you. Say you forgive me, Mr Henders. Please." I said, slightly begging.

He stared at me for a moment before he opened his mouth, "Demon."

That hit me hard when he said that. My eyes widen as I lowered my head and brushed one side of my hair back, "No, I'm not. My family is just different. Hender, please. If you wanna feel better you have to forgive me."

"Nurse." he breathed out, making me look up at him confused. "Nurse!" he yelled out, moving the left part of his body around. My eyes widen as I went over towards him and tried to stop him. "Nurse! Nurse!"

Panicking, I didn't know what to do! I tried pushing him down back onto the bed, "Please Mr Hender, I'm not gonna hurt you. I wanna help-"

He thrashed his arm at me and I cried out as I stepped back at the distressed man who suddenly stop screaming and he groaned in pain. He fell back onto the bed, his hands pressing against his chest as he breathed roughly.

People ran into the room, pushing me aside as they tried to help Hender. They rolled him out of the room and I stood there eye widen shocked at all what just happened.

"I'm sorry." I breathed out, running my fingers across my hair.

It was awhile before he was brought back in. I stood out in the hallways staring down at the white cup with herbs. I refuse to leave because I need to finish this.

"He fully paralyzed." the doctor said as he walked out with a nurse and down the hallway. "This is so strange how hard they're attacking without it being twenty four hours. I feel like he won't survive the next one. Inform family to come quickly, we don't know when the next one will come."

Tears stung my eyes as guilt rushed over me. I held the tears back because if Yiayia was here she would tell me to woman up. I lifted my head up, taking a deep breath. I'm gonna do this without his forgiveness, hoping it'll still work.

I walked into the room where Hender stared up at the wall. His eyes turned to look at me but they seemed vacant this time.

I placed the cup down on the table and took the piece of paper out. I spoke in Greek the blessing spell to make him strong again, to let him live long, and never let anything harm him. I asked for anything that will harm him to leave his soul with these herbs and recuse him.

When it was done I looked at him as I grabbed the cup, "Might taste a little strong but it'll work. Yiayia never lies to me." I brought my hand out, placed it under his neck and tilt his head up. I brought the cup over and placed it against his lips. I poured some into his mouth and l let it fell down his throat. I slowly did that as I repeated the blessing spell. Soon, he started drinking the herb year and I saw his finger twitch.

When the cup was almost empty he suddenly lunged away from me. My eyes widen as I stepped back as he coughed heavily as he leaned on the side of the hospital bed. His back moved up and down as he breathed heavily.

It...worked? It must have since he was clearly moving. I breathed out in relief, hoping he doesn't have another one and it actually didn't work. How ironic that would be.

He lifted his head up, turning to look at me. My eyes widen and I quickly left the room before he could question me. I ran over to the elevator and left the hospital.

Three days later

I smiled widely as Jesse came over and showed me hee engagement ring, "It's so pretty! Good job Kaden, very sparkly."

Kaden laughed, "Thanks Andria."

Jesse smiled as she sighed heavily, "It was so sweet! It was such a perfect dream of mine of this day." She grabbed Kaden arm hugging it as she smiled, "Seven year old me wouldn't admit this but I dreamt of marrying Kaden. I loved this boy since we were kids."

"What a story." I sarcastically said, making her giggle. I sat back on the lawn chairs, "Everything seems so...nice. No stressing, surprisingly boring."

"Yeah now that you have no reason to give Levi the cold shoulder what will you do?" Kaden asked.

I grinned, "Oh I'm a handfull. We will always be fighting about something. Luckily he knows how to handle my stubborn ass."

"Because he's also stubborn. You're a perfect match." Jesse said.

Levi stepped out of the house into the yard as he stared at the phone, "You guys will never believe this." he said. "'Mayor Henders have stopped the destruction of Hayden Forest. After having suffered two heart attacks, he came to realize there was more imporant things in life then shopping stores.'"

We all sat there quiet for a moment as we soaked up the news Levi just told us.

"Whoa." Kaden said. "Jeez Andria, never thought I say this but--good job."

Jesse giggled, "Uh, you did it! Hop up and down! You made Henders change his mind!"

It hit me hard that she was right. I did do it! So how it went was quickly not how I expected it but it still worked! I jumped up from my chair and hugged Levi, "I did it! I did it!"

He chuckled, "Oh no, I'm gonna be hearing this the rest of my life." he said as he put his arms around me and lifted me up.

"And we can stay, no one has to move." Kaden said.

Jesse breathed out in relief, "Oh thank God." she said.
