It's STILL Disney Weekend! (part 2)
“I really hate this dress.” A’Cadia picked up a pair of scissors and grabbed her train.
“You cut that off and Skylar will run weeping from the room when she sees it,” Ziva told her.
A’Cadia sent her a glare and tossed the scissors back onto the desk. “Damn, you’re right. So not worth the Skylar drama fit. Hold on.” She began rummaging through Skylar’s multitude of hair accessories until she found a handful of elastic ponytail bands. Using them she twisted the train into some weird looking rope.
“Nice, she’s still going to complain though.”
A’Cadia sent her an angry glare. “Does it look like I care? Come on or we’ll be late for class.”
“Yeah and as much as I’d love to skip it, I think I’m actually looking forward to seeing Storm dressed as Cruella.”
A’Cadia laughed loudly. “I’ll second that.”
They wandered into the classroom. Storm stood at the front of the room wrapped in a fur coat, her hair now half black and half white. She was tapping a foot and looking angry as she waited for everyone to take their seats. “Let’s move it so hopefully this day will end faster.”
Skylar spotted A’Cadia’s train and frowned. “A’Cadia what happened to the train of your dress? Here let me fix that!”
Before A’Cadia could protest, Skylar yanked out the elastic bands and smoothed out the diaphanous train. A’Cadia stared at it in dismay. “Great, thanks Skylar now I can trip over it again, epic, that’s exactly what I was looking for.”
Skylar made a face at her as she retook her seat. “Oh stop it A’Cadia. If you walk like a lady you’ll be fine!”
“That was a tad insulting there Skylar. You’re learning, I’m so proud.”
“Can we start class now? We’re good, great …” Storm paused as her eyes fell on Lenny. “What in the hell is he doing here?”
“He’s here for Disney Weekend! Don’t worry he promised to behave,” Skylar told her.
Storm snorted and turned away to start class. It was obvious she didn’t believe a word Skylar said. As she went to write on the board, Skylar punched the button on her iPod and the music for Love is an Open Door started up. She and Lenny jumped to their feet and began singing. Using the desks to climb on as they sang.
Storm stood at the front of the room looking as if she’d rather be anywhere else than in the room watching Lenny and Skylar perform.
When the music ended, Mellissa jumped up and clapped. “Very nice! Didn’t know you could sing, Lenny.”
“It’s the only thing that saved that number because Skylar sounds like a drowning cat,” Ziva said.
“That was harsh there Ziva,” Mellissa said as she made a ’reow hissing noise and a little kitty claw-like gesture.
“All right that’s it; I can’t handle you people. Classes are canceled for today.” Storm waved them out of the room.
“Aww now we have to randomly sing in the halls instead of in class!” Skylar complained.
“Wow that is such a tragedy. Can I leave for my mom’s now?”
“NO! Let’s sing A’Cadia!” Skylar lifted her iPod and started the music for For the First Time in Forever.
“I don’t want to sing!” Skylar spun in a circle, her arms thrown wide as she began to sing, totally ignoring A’Cadia’s protests. A’Cadia stood in the center of the hall, her arms folded over her chest and a scowl on her face. She made no move to follow Skylar when she began dancing her way down the corridor; mostly because A’Cadia knew that if she started dancing she’d trip over her dress and fall flat on her face. However she did join in and sing her part when it was her turn. She knew better than to ruin Skylar’s fun.
“I bow to you goddess of song!” Mellissa dropped to the floor in front of A’Cadia and put her forehead to the ground when the song had ended.
“Get up you little munchkin!”
“Where did you learn to sing like that?” Stone asked her.
Embarrassed now, her cheeks turned slightly red. “My mom made me take voice lessons. In her opinion a lady does not sound like a warthog in heat when she speaks. Apparently that includes song. I had to take dance lessons too.” She sent them all a narrowed eyed look. “First one of you that ask me to dance dies the death of food at a teppanyaki style restaurant. With flair and a whole lot of knife work!
Stone held up his hands. “Not asking.”
Skylar stood and stared at A’Cadia in awe. “Can you teach me to sing like that?”
“Probably not. No offense Sky but you do not have a singing voice.”
Skylar pouted. “That’s just plain mean A’Cadia.”
Death wrapped an arm around her shoulders and gave her a little squeeze. “It’s all right babe I love your voice just the way it is.” He kissed her on the forehead and Skylar giggled and melted.
Mellissa snorted and rolled her eyes. “Of course you do. I’d say your tone deaf there Death, but it’s obvious you’re not ’cause you can totally sing epically.”
Skylay clapped her hands together and ooohed as she scrolled through her songs until she found what she wanted and hit play while batting her eyelashes at Death. “Sing!” Friends on the Other Side from Princess and the Frog started playing.
Death tipped his hat to her and gave her a wicked little grin as he rolled it down his arm and caught it in his hand before flipping it in the air, catching it and placing it back on his head, doing a little spin just in time to come to a stop facing them again and start singing the song.
He knew all the words and danced to the song as well while he sang. He finished by doing a flip off the back of the couch in the living room.
“Holy crap that was even better than A’Cadia!” Mellissa clapped loudly.
“That’s a dollar Mellissa,” Storm told her as she walked past.
“Dude where did you come from?”
Storm shrugged and kept walking. Mellissa crossed herself and moved closer to A’Cadia. “Save me from the devil woman!”
A’Cadia chuckled. “Right like you aren’t the spawn of the devil kid.”
Mellissa stuck her tongue out at A’Cadia.
“Hey Skylar make Craig sing the reindeer song!”
Skylar giggled. “All right.”
Ziva looked from Mellissa to Skylar and then at Craig, who was grinning. “Reindeer song?”
Nixon plopped his butt down next to Craig and looked up at him expectantly while panting. Craig grinned. “Yeah, it’s kinda cute actually. Ready Nixon?” Nixon barked as Skylar started up the music and Craig sang the words while Nixon played along.
When it was over Ziva stared at them dumbfounded. “I’m scarred for life. I swear I am. I can’t believe you went along with that Craig. It’s going to take me at least a week, no two, to get that crap out of my head.”
“Dollar Ziva,” Storm told her as she made her way back down the hallway toward her office, with Mack and Jack pouncing on the trailing end of her fur coat as she went. The rest of Mellissa’s dogs, where were posing as the 101 Dalmatians, hid under stuff as if they were hiding from the evil Cruella De Vil every time Storm walked through a room.
“Where does she come from?” Mellissa asked as she gestured after Storm.
“I think she lurks out of sight and waits for one of us to curse,” A’Cadia told Mellissa.
“Okay, someone go fetch Logan.”
“Why?” Angela asked.
“Because he needs to sing with you! You’re going to sing I have a Dream!” Skylar told her.
“I’ll get him!” Mellissa called as she disappeared off down the hall. She came back pulling Logan behind her.
“Why am I here?”
“Because you need to sing with Angela. I mean Rapunzel!” Skylar told him. “Oh Stone, Craig, Stevie, you guys can do the parts of the scary guys in the Snugly Duckling. All right?” They nodded. She clapped her hands. “Places everyone!”
Angela pointed to Stone as the music started and he began the song. “I’m malicious, mean, and scary!”
A’Cadia giggled as he sang. When he went on with the verse she went into gales of laughter, dropped to the floor and rolled around, getting tangled in the train of her Elsa gown. Skylar kicked her in the shin and shushed her.
Angela broke into song as it came to her part. When Logan’s turn came around A’Cadia batted her way out from her train and stared at her father.
“Well damn now we know where you got the singing voice from!” Mellissa commented as she squatted down next to A’Cadia.
“Oh shut up squirt!” A’Cadia told her.
Skylar clapped enthusiastically as the song ended. “That was wonderful everyone!”
“Great, can I leave now? And change out of this ridiculous outfit?” Logan asked her.
“No you cannot Disney weekend is not over!”
“When do I get to sing something?” Mellissa whined.
“Merida doesn’t sing, you know that,” Skylar told her.
Mellissa flopped backward onto the floor. “Oh sure I finally get a decent character and she doesn’t even sing! This bites!”
Skylar shrugged. “Sorry Mellissa.”
“Not as sorry as you should be.” Mellissa shot her with the bow and grinned happily.
“Ow! Mellissa what did I tell you about your props?”
“That I should get full use out of them this weekend?”
“No! That you should respect them!” Skylar shot back angrily.
“No I’m certain that wasn’t it.”
“Is this crap over with so I can burn this stupid dress now?” A’Cadia asked.
“NO THIS ISN’T OVER UNTIL I SAY IT IS OVER! NOW EVERYONE IS GOING TO HAVE FUN UNTIL I SAY OTHERWISE!” Skylar screamed, her chest heaving as she tried in vain to calm down after her outburst. She took a deep breath, smoothed her braids and plastered on a smile. “All right that’s enough for today. Let’s regroup tomorrow everyone I think we need a break. I’m going to go give myself a little timeout now.”
They all watched as Skylar walked off down the hall.
“Right, well that was interesting,” Ziva remarked.
“That was mild compared to her meltdown of four years ago,” Lenny told her as he headed for the room they’d housed him in. “See you all in the morning!”

“I’ve decided to cut the weekend short. Today will be the last day of Disney Weekend. It will end at midnight tonight,” Skylar told them as they sat around the kitchen eating breakfast.
“Why Skylar?” Stevie asked her.
“Because some people are just no fun,” she said staring pointedly at Ziva and A’Cadia.
Ziva snorted. “Well some of us simply aren’t into this larping crapola.”
“In other words, we aren’t super dorks,” A’Cadia put in with a huge grin.
“Exactly!” Ziva high fived her.
Mellissa shot them both with her bow. “You are both idiots.”
“And you are going to be as shredded as the stuff in Storm’s paper shredder munchkin!” A’Cadia lunged at her.
“Stop it!” Skylar shouted. “I just wanted this to be fun and you guys are ruining it!” She sniffled loudly while managing to pout at the same time.
Ziva sighed dramatically. “Fine, fine, I’ll sing then. Play some stinking music.”
Skylar’s tears instantly dried up as if they’d never been and she pulled out her iPod. Seconds later the Beginning Song from Beauty and the Beast started up and Ziva started singing. It took a moment but she eventually got into it and jumped up from her seat and started dancing around the room, her arms flung wide as she sung.
Mellissa’s jaw dropped. “I’ll be damned Ziva can sing. Not as good as A’Cadia and Logan, but she’s a hell of a lot better than Skylar.”
Storm walked through the kitchen, on her way by she slapped Mellissa upside the back of the head. “That’s two dollars Mellissa.” She filled her coffee mug and left the kitchen.
Ziva chuckled and sat back in her chair. “You really need to stop swearing Mellissa because she always catches you.”
Mellissa shrugged. “Why? Storm would have nothing to do then.”
Annabelle bounced in her chair. “I so wish Lottie had a song ta sing!”
Stevie shrugged. “I really don’t care either way. I don’t think I could sing in these pants. They are way too tight!”
“Oh, oh, oh Prince Naveen has a song! You could sing Tiana’s part Annabelle! It’s called When We’re Human! Craig you can sing Louis the alligator’s part!”
“Okay no problem!”
“Oh thank you so very much Skylar!” Annabelle’s accent dripped enthusiasm as she threw her arms around Skylar and hugged her tightly.
Together the three sang and danced loudly. Annabelle’s singing voice was slightly better than Skylar although it was a touch worse off than Ziva’s was. Mellissa sulked in a corner as she realized that Annabelle could at least sing and that Stevie still seemed to like her.
When they finished, Skylar stood and clapped loudly, cheering as she did. “That was fabulous guys!”
Mellissa muttered beneath her breath, “Yeah just fabulous.”
“All right everyone has gotten a chance to sing a song from their character’s movie. The rest of the day is a free for all! Basically you can sing any Disney song you’d like at any given time throughout the day! So enjoy yourselves!”
The rest of the day was spent in a flurry of singing and dancing, mostly by Skylar and Death. They both seemed to enjoy themselves immensely. Lenny also seemed to have a blast, although they all noticed he seemed to pick mostly songs sung by Disney villains.
Logan had made himself scarce. Ziva and A’Cadia sang very little, though Skylar did make them sing.
By the end of the day Skylar was sighing happily. “Thank you everyone for a wonderful Disney Weekend! This was so much fun!”
“Yes it was actually,” Ziva told her. “Surprisingly.”
“Yes and now that it’s over you can hightail it out of here Lenny,” A’Cadia told him jerking a thumb toward the front door.
“Yes, well, I do suppose it is time for me to take my leave.” He rose from where he had been sitting on one of the couches, bowed low and smiled at Skylar. “I’ll be back next year. I’ll have the costume dry-cleaned and send it back to you Skylar.”
“Oh it’s fitted to you Lenny, you can keep it, consider it a souvenir!”
“Thanks Skylar!” He gave a little wave and left.
“Thank God I can finally take this stupid dress off!” A’Cadia left for her room, trailed by Ziva as she headed for hers. They others slowly left for their respective rooms as well to remove their costumes.
As Ziva hung her costume back on its hanger she watcher Skylar do the same, sighing happily as she did. Skylar then patted the dress, turned away, and slipped beneath the covers on her bed.
“Good night Ziva.”
“Night Skylar. Happy Disney Weekend.”
“Thanks roomie!”
Ziva smiled and shook her head as she closed her eyes.
