First Day
"GET UP! GET UP!" Jane opened her eyes to see Renae staring down at her. Her face looked so scared that Jane thought a fire had started. She hopped out of her bed terrified.
"What?! What is it?!"
"We're late for class!" The second she said that Jane relaxed.
"You scared me! I thought someone was dying!"
"This is worst! Hurry up!" Serena and Pepper were both sitting on their beds waiting for Jane to finish getting ready. Serena didn't seem too concerned, though.
"You guys go ahead. I'll wait with Jane," said Serena. Renae didn't bother arguing. She just grabbed her bag and left with Pepper. "Could you hurry it up a little? I don't mind being late but I'd prefer to at least show up." Jane rolled her eyes and grabbed her bag.
They raced down the stairs and took a wrong turn at least once every two steps. Finally they made it to Transfiguration. Jane opened the door and smiled. All eyes were on her and Serena, which they didn't really mind.
"I hope this won't be a recurring thing, Ms..."
"Potter."
"Ms. Potter, please take a seat and see me after class," said the teacher. It was the lady from last night, with the slicked back hair and stern face. Jane and Serena took seats behind Renae and Pepper.
As everyone walked out of class Renae said, "We'll wait for you outside. The next class isn't too far away." Jane simply nodded and turned to the teacher.
"You wanted to talk?"
"Yes. I wanted know why you two think you can show up to your very first class late?"
"Oh, well you see I..."
"Sorry, Ma'am, we just couldn't find the bathroom before and when we did we couldn't find our way back to your beautiful classroom," interrupted Serena.
"Well don't let it happen again. And it's Ms. McGonagall."
"Well have a nice day, Ms. McGonagall," said Serena as she backed out of the room pulling Jane with her. Once they were out of the classroom they both broke into laughter.
"Thank God you stopped me! I would have gotten us two years in detention! How are you so good at that stuff?"
"Just years of practice and doing things that I definitely shouldn't." Again, there was nothing but laughter between all of them. Jane told the others what happened as they walked to their next class.
Jane and Serena were never on time for Transfiguration, but that was okay because they were also late for almost every class.
