Questions
Junkrat's PoV
"What's it you want to know Mako?" I asked as he sat me down at the table in the back of the library.
"You said yesterday that some people used to call you Junkrat, where did you get that nickname?"
"Skipping right to the hard questions eh?" I couldn't hold back a laugh as a smile spread across my face. "Well if you must know it's because I would hide in trash cans to gather information on people. I would take down information and sell it, an underground of secrets."
Mako nodded, he took out a notebook and started to write things down. "What happened to your leg and arm?"
"There we go, an easy one. As for the arm I never had one, been a lefty my whole life." I laughed at the joke, Mako didn't only shifting slight as if to stifle it. "as for the leg it was a big dog, a really big dog. I mean I was trying to get information on its owner, and it just bit it clean off"
Mako made more notes on that, his eyebrows knitting together for a moment. "Where did you learn how to make your prosthetic?"
"Oh these old things?" I held up my arm and stuck out my leg. "Well that was a while ago, must have read it in a book somewhere. I read a lot growing up, the library was a favorite place of mine"
More scribbling of notes, I could tell that he wasn't looking at me, just his notebook and his writing. "Why do you live in a shed?"
"Well back to the hard questions I see" I took the time to think a bit, trying to connect the dots in my head. "I like the space, the freedom. Not one really seems to understand, and it's easier them looking for a real place to stay"
"Why bombs?" there was a bitter tone in his voice, and a defeated sadness. He looked up at me and for a moment I saw the sadness in his eyes. I stopped for a moment and instead of just giving the fastest answer I took the time to really think about it.
"I'm fascinated" I said and couldn't help but smile. "They're exciting and fun and I'm good at it"
"Where did you learn how to build them?" Mako leaned closer and for a moment there was a flash of fear that hit me but it went away quickly.
"I don't know" I said truthfully, my voice empty. "I don't know"
Mako stood up and for a moment I though he, too, would leave me. But when he went around the table and patted me on the shoulder I felt all of my fear just melt. I looked up and smiled at him, winning a smile back. "That everything you wanted?"
He nodded and went and picked up his notebook as he left. I grabbed my stuff and fallowed, "Hey you're going to show me to my class right?" He turned back to me and smiled, then kept walking.
"Wait up" I called as I followed him, earning a laugh in return.
