Best Left Forgotten
Moira's PoV
"Aunt Moria!" I near from down the hallway. "I'm home" I knew that voice belonged to Amèile, so I just kept working on my papers. I was getting close to something and I knew it. "Aunt Moria!" The voice called again. I didn't have time to deal with the child now, I was busy. "Aunt Moria!" The voice was louder now, and closer. She must have been walking down the hallway to my lab.
"I'm busy. Go tell Gabe if it's that important!" I yelled threw the door and tried to back to crunching numbers.
"But..." she started before there was an aditablwb sigh. Then the lock on the door juggled. "Sombra! Anut Moria locked the door again!" That little brat! I quickly tried to hide everything, turning off the lights ti my work station and pulling the cover over the desk before moving to my show desk, a table piled with books and paper filled with the most literal jiberish.
The door opened and I was meet with a smiling Sombra and a very angree looking Amèile. "Thank you so much girls."
"Of course" Sombra turned to Amèile and held out her hand. "Pay up"
"Just take it out of my desk drawer" she said stepping closer to me. Sombra ran from the room ans Amèlie shut the door. "How much have you messed with my memory?"
The question took me a bit by surprise, as that's not what I was expecting. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I know you messed with my heart; but what have you done with my mind?" She move dti sit in the chair across from my desk. "How many things did you make me forget?"
I took a long breath. "What do you think you remember, let me start there"
"Jamison"
I blinked, this was impossible. I thought he was dead. He should have been dead. This was a nightmare. "What do you know about him?"
"He's at my school, he got onto a fight, and I thought I saw his hair on fire. Why don't I remember him?" There was an edge if bitterness in his voice.
"Amèlie, you know your importance. However this is not something you need to worry about. The less you speak with this boy the better"
I knew I needed a better reason but at the moment it was all I could come up with. Amèlie rolled her eyes. "Whatever. I'm going to make sure you're little hacker isn't dead"
"Did you poison her again?" While I was disappointed I found a small smile forming on my face, but only for a second. "Patch her up. I'll start dinner" this is when I finally looked at the clock. "Why are you so late?"
"Track meeting." She said with a shrug leaving me in my office with a whole lot of questions. This project was so much easier when the three of them were younger.
