It was a week since I meet the Gems and I felt like family already. Foxy had taught me so many things about my powers, Windy felt like my little sister, the the rest of the Gems were so sweet. Everything was great, until one night.

I put my gem to the wood of the big oak tree and opened the door. I walked in from my nightly run with the wolves. When I walked in I seen Snow and Foxy lay motionless on the ground, and Ivy lay weak on the table. Sunny, Luna, and especially Windy were crying.
             "What's wrong?" I asked shocked as I rushed into the room.
              "They're dying. They've been slowly dying for a while now." Luna said sternly through her tears.
               "Of what?" I asked shocked.
              "An unknown Illness that can kill Gems." Sunny said sternly just like her sister.

               I looked sadly at snow, then Foxy, then Ivy. Tears started to drop down my check. I looked again over to Foxy and Snow.
               "Are they..?" Sunny and Luna sadly nodded their head yes. "Oh." I sadly said. I turned my head again to Ivy, and Windy who was crying hard.

I walked over to Windy and I put my arm around her, and pulled her into a half hug.
"Windy are you okay?" I asked trying to comfort the girl.
"No. NO! Mommy don't go, I love you!" Windy cried into her mothers shoulder. Ivy lifted her hand softly and placed her hand on Windy's check.
"I must my Darling, it is my time. I know you will miss me, but you have a family here." Ivy spoke weakly. Windy cried even harder looking into her mothers eyes. "Andrea. You are so strong, you must stay strong." Ivy softly said to me.

My tears rolled down my face faster. It felt like part of me was dying inside.
"I will." I said crying.
"Watch them, take care of them, they are your family now." She said. I nodded. "Now take my hands." She said taking one hand. I grabbed her other hand.

                 "Andrea know that you are now the leader of the Gems. But from my death there shall be no earth Gem, and from that we need one. Until you find her, you must be both animal and earth Gem. So I give you my powers." She said weakly as her gem lit a bright green light. I felt my hands and my whole body tingle.

                My gem started to grow a bright green. After a minute I looked down at my gem and it was now green and purple. I looked over at Ivy, her Gem was now clear.
               "What happened?" I asked.
               "You are now both the animal and earth gem. Now my darling daughter Windy, you must take my gem. For you are a Gem also." She said taking off her gem and gave it to Windy.
               "I don't want you to go mommy." Windy cried.
                "Know that I always love you. Now take on your power, and put on your gem." Ivy said crying softly.

           Windy did as she was told and the gem glowed a bright blue light. When the light was gone, her gem was blue with cloud like shapes.
             "You are now the weather gem. And Andrea find her, find her before HE does. I love you my darling." A tear fell from Ivy's eye and she died.

               It was a sad day that day, but I knew I had to find the one she was talking about. I had to find her before HE, who every he was, did.
