20 - Arachnid Nightmare in a World Gone Mad
The creature approached their line of cars with a curious gaze, its four sets of eyes fixed on the convoy. Lowering its massive body, it used its hand to lift one of the cars into the air and began devouring it. One unfortunate student, paralyzed by shock, had sought refuge inside the car instead of fleeing to the forest, and he screamed in terror as the monster's actions unfolded.
This only seemed to excite the creature further. Opening its mouth, which was the size of a football field, it swallowed the car whole, with the unfortunate student inside. The monster's eyes widened, and it let out a chilling laugh that sent shivers down everyone's spines, as if it had just savored a delectable meal.
Horror and fear gripped everyone present as they covered their ears in an attempt to block out the creature's unsettling laughter. They prayed that they wouldn't be discovered by this new and terrifying unknown monster, fearing that maybe this journey would lead them to doom instead of salvation.

Feasting with an insatiable hunger on the first car it had consumed, the monstrous creature's excitement grew, eager to savor the next meal. However, its anticipation quickly turned to annoyance as it realized it was an empty car. A displeased scowl marred its hideous features, disappointed that the second car didn't offer the same delectable taste as the first.
Undeterred, the creature tried its luck with the other cars, but each attempt ended in the same frustrating result. Its growing anger manifested in violent tantrums, lashing out by kicking cars into the air and demolishing nearby trees with terrifying force. The once serene forest now bore the scars of its wrath, with shattered vehicles strewn like discarded toys and trees torn from the earth as if ravaged by a cataclysmic storm.
Huddled together in their hiding spots, the students remained frozen in fear, hoping that the creature's attention wouldn't turn towards their direction. Silence enveloped them like a suffocating shroud, broken only by the pounding thuds of their own hearts and the creature's destructive rage.
The monster's fury reached a boiling point, but just as suddenly as it had arrived, it decided to depart. Perhaps the tastelessness of the cars had soured its appetite, or maybe it had grown bored with the lack of suitable prey. With a chilling aura that seemed to seep away like an eerie mist, the creature made its way toward the city center, leaving behind a scene of destruction and terror.
The trembling ground subsided, and a collective sigh of relief washed over the survivors. Cautiously, they emerged from their hiding places, their bodies still trembling with fear and adrenaline. Half of their vehicles now lay in ruins, but it was a small price to pay for their lives.
Mick's face was etched with indescribable fear as he struggled to comprehend the horrifying sight they had just witnessed. "What was that thing?" he managed to stammer, his voice trembling with disbelief. "Do we even stand a chance of surviving this nightmare?"
Urgently taking charge of the situation, Gemini commanded, "Mark, Mick, ensure everyone gets back to their cars. Those who lost their cars, find another one to join." His instructions were clear and concise, leaving no room for confusion.
With the others occupied, Gemini focused his attention back on Fourth, who had withdrawn into an unsettling silence after the encounter with the monstrous creature. He approached Fourth with concern etched across his face. "What's wrong, nong FotFot?" he asked gently, trying to break through the silence that had enveloped his beloved boyfriend.
Fourth seemed to snap out of his trance upon hearing Gemini's caring voice. However, he still couldn't find the words to express himself, his distress evident. As Gemini reached out to wipe away the blood trickling from Fourth's nose, his worry intensified.
"You scared me, na, my nong FotFot," Gemini said with a mixture of relief and concern. He guided Fourth to the back seats of the car, pulling him into a tight and protective embrace. As Fourth's head rested on his lap, Gemini gently stroked his hair, offering reassurance through his touch and hoped the physical closeness would offer some comfort and solace to his shaken boyfriend.
Their journey persisted, and the Gemini car now welcomed new companions - Milk, Love, Lisa, and Nook. After the monster's attack left their own car in ruins, they sought refuge in the safety of Gemini's vehicle. As they entered, Love's face revealed his deep concern upon seeing Fourth's condition.
"Is he okay?" Love inquired anxiously.
Gemini held Fourth in a tight embrace, his worry evident in his voice, "I don't know. Ever since that monstrous encounter, he's been visibly shaken, as if something truly traumatic has befallen him."
Gemini whispered softly into Fourth's ear, "What did you see, my beloved FotFot?"
But Fourth remained silent, his eyes distant and soulless. Sensing the heaviness in the air, Nook swiftly tried to change the topic, attempting to shift everyone's attention. "Does anyone have any idea what that monstrous creature was?"
"I'm afraid no one knows," Mark answered from the driver's seat, his eyes firmly focused on the road. "But do you think there could be other creatures like it out there?"
Milk pondered the question, her mind racing with thoughts. "If there are others like it, I wonder how the city's safe haven could maintain its security against such colossal threats."
The group fell into a thoughtful silence as they considered the potential dangers that lay ahead. They had sought refuge in the hope of the city's safe haven, located in the south of Bangkok, believing it would offer safety from whatever had caused the catastrophe outside. But with the encounter of the monstrous creature in the city park's forest, their hopes were shaken.
Gemini broke the silence, his voice steady despite the unease he felt. "We can't let fear paralyze us. We need to stay vigilant and stick together. If there are more creatures like that out there, we'll face them together and find a way to survive."
He looked at Fourth, still cradled in his arms, and then at the rest of the group. "Right now, let's focus on reaching the city's safe haven. Once we're there, and depending on the situation, we'll plan our next move."
Love nodded in agreement, and Milk added, "Gemini's right. We can't afford to give up hope. We've made it this far, and we'll make it through whatever comes our way."
As they continued their journey towards the safe haven, leaving the city's park and heading closer to the south of Bangkok, the destruction around them intensified. The once bustling streets of Bangkok were now an eerie labyrinth of debris and ruins. Abandoned cars, collapsed buildings, and overturned objects littered the roads, evidence of the terror that had engulfed the city.
The number of zombies had increased along the way, posing a constant threat to the convoy. However, the group found some relief in the fact that they hadn't encountered another monstrous 20-story creature like the one they had faced in the city park. Despite the obstacles, they pressed on, determined to reach the safety of the city's haven.
As they advanced, the debris became more frequent, hindering the progress of the vehicles. Eventually, they had to abandon the cars and continue on foot. Gemini carried Fourth on his back, determined to protect his beloved boyfriend throughout the journey. The other members of the group followed, their expressions filled with annoyance and exhaustion.
"Why are there so many debris here?" Mick asked, frustration evident in his voice.
Mark sighed, "Maybe it's the result of military actions. They likely used the debris to create barriers and fortifications to protect the safe haven from the zombies."
The thought of the military's involvement brought mixed feelings. On one hand, it offered some hope that there might be a safe place ahead, but on the other hand, it was a grim reminder of the severity of the situation they were in.
As they continued on foot, the group had to tread carefully, knowing that zombies could be lurking behind any corner or pile of debris. The tension in the air was palpable, and everyone remained on high alert, ready to defend themselves at a moment's notice.
Their worst fear seemed to come true as a zombie finally spotted them, its groaning call attracting others to join the fray. Soon, the group found themselves surrounded, and they had no choice but to fight for their lives using makeshift weapons.
"We need to split into smaller groups of 7 to 10 people and take different routes. It'll help us move quicker and avoid attracting more zombies," Gemini said loudly, his voice steady and authoritative. As he observed the path ahead growing narrower, he knew that moving a large group through such cramped spaces would be too risky.
"I agree," Mark nodded, understanding the wisdom behind the plan. He and Mick quickly relayed the information to the other students, who also saw the logic in the strategy. They knew they were getting closer to their destination, and being cautious was crucial.
With swiftness and coordination, the group organized into smaller teams, each led by someone with experience in combating. They carefully selected their routes, aiming to minimize the chances of encountering zombies.
Gemini's group, consisting of Fourth, Mick, Milk, Love, Nook, Lisa, and Mark, followed closely as they ventured forward, each step filled with caution and determination. Gemini had chosen what he believed to be the safest path, but suddenly, he felt a tight grip on his shoulder. Recognizing the touch, he felt relief wash over him.
"Nong FotFot, are you okay?" Gemini asked with concern evident in his voice.
Fourth didn't answer verbally; instead, he used his hand to point to another path, indicating an alternative direction they could take.
Gemini's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to understand Fourth's gesture. It was unlike him not to communicate verbally, and this sudden change in behavior worried Gemini. He knew Fourth had a keen intuition due to his awaken power, and he trusted his instincts implicitly.
They entered a dark, narrow alley that led to a labyrinth of small paths, surrounded by old apartment buildings from the '80s. Despite not knowing the area well, they had faith in Fourth's intuition. The intricate web of paths helped them escape the zombies that chased after them.
Finally finding a moment of safety, they all took deep breaths of relief.
"One of my friends used to live in this area," Mark said, taking a moment to catch his breath, "but I never came here before. It seems like everybody has evacuated during the outbreak. There are not many signs of struggle or blood on the walls."
"That's easy to understand," Milk replied, her gaze still vigilant to spot any zombies. "This is near the city's safe haven. Everybody must have been escorted there with the help of the military."
As they continued through the dark alleys, everyone couldn't help but be deeply impressed with Fourth's uncanny intuition. Despite the tense and dangerous situation, Fourth seemed to anticipate the zombies' movements before they could even spot the group. Each time the undead appeared, they managed to evade them silently, without raising the alarm.
With every successful evasion, their confidence grew, and the weight of fear they had carried began to lift slightly. A glimmer of hope flickered within them as they continued their cautious journey through the narrow pathways.
Finally, after what felt like an intense quarter-hour, they emerged from the labyrinth of alleys into a slightly more open area. The place immediately caught their attention, as it was covered in a strange, white substance that resembled spider webs.
"Be careful," Mark warned, his curiosity getting the better of him as he reached out to touch the unknown substance. The moment his fingers made contact, he regretted it as the material proved to be sticky and incredibly tough to remove.
However, amidst this intriguing discovery, Gemini suddenly halted, raising his hand to signal the rest of the group to stop. He glanced at his boyfriend, Fourth, whom he was carrying on his back, and sensed that something was amiss. Though Fourth's eyes still held a lifeless quality, a faint flicker of awareness seemed to be returning to them. He whispered softly, "Danger."
Gemini trusted Fourth's instincts implicitly, but he needed more information. "What danger?" he asked, trying to understand the source of Fourth's warning.
"I'm... sorry," Fourth responded, his words barely audible. "They're... everywhere. Couldn't escape them all." He suddenly winced, clutching his head in agony, blood trickling down his nose, which sent Gemini into a state of panic. He gently set Fourth down and tenderly caressed his face.
"Nong FotFot, how do you feel?" Gemini asked, his worry evident in his voice. "Please, stop using your power. It's hurting you."
"I cannot," Fourth managed to say through the pain. "If I stop, it will find out about all of you. I cannot bear to risk your safety."
"Fourth, listen to me," Gemini implored, his heart aching at the sight of his beloved suffering. He let his forehead touch Fourth's, whispering affectionately to the one he cherished more than life itself. "Please, stop your power. We will be fine, I will be fine. Trust your GemGem, okay?"
With tears still glistening in his eyes, Fourth finally gave in to Gemini's pleas, relenting and stopping his power. As the pain gradually subsided, relief washed over his face, and Gemini's worried expression softened. The two shared a brief moment of respite, finding solace in each other's presence.
Their fleeting joy was, however, shattered by an ear-piercing howl that echoed through the narrow alleys. It felt like a nightmarish symphony attempting to rip through their very souls.
"What was that thing?" Mick's voice quivered with terror, his trembling hand pointing towards a dark corner.
In sheer horror, they beheld a sight that froze their blood. Emerging from the shadows, a monstrous entity lurched into view. It was a ghastly amalgamation of a spider and a zombie, resembling an arachnid nightmare from the depths of hell itself. This monstrous creature loomed before them, towering over them like a grotesque colossus with humanoid features.
Its eight twisted, spindly legs skittered on the ground, and its bulbous, rotting abdomen oozed with malevolence. Its eyes glowed with an unholy hunger as it locked its gaze onto the helpless group, who felt their hearts pounding in terror.
As the group stared in terror at the monstrous creature before them, they soon realized that they were not alone in seeking refuge at the city's safe haven. The thriving haven had become a beacon for survivors, but it had also attracted the attention of these abominable creatures, making it even more dangerous than they had initially anticipated.
