GIF SIGNATURE [Part 1]

Hewo!!
I haven't updated this book for soooo long! O.o

So today I'll be teaching you how you can make your very own animated signature on your mobile device.
A signature is usually a signing off graphic at the end of a chappie.

For this project we will be using the following apps and website. And of course internet connection!

• ibispaintx (for editing the actual graphic)
You can use whichever editing program/app you usually design with.
• picCollage (for adding gif)

Both of these apps are available on Google play and I'm pretty sure or iOS store too.

Now you see, picCollage makes mp4 graphics and has a watermark on the end result, in order to convert it to gif and remove the watermark, we'll be needing access to ezgif website.

It isn't that complicated! Really!

I always download and if needed, extract all my resources before hand.

I'll list the resources that I used here and I got them from DeviantArt:

• png pack 5 by alkindii
• Madelaine Petsch png pack by southsidepngs

Let's get started with the signature...

Open your editing app. If you would like to use ibispaintx here's how the main screen looks like. Go to my gallery.

With the '+' icon on the top tool bar you are able to create a new graphic.

A screen will pop up, here we will choose our dimensions. I went for custom measurements (500x300) but you can choose one of the presets too! Press ok once done.

The app will take you to the editing screen. From the tool bar on the side, select the paint bucket tool (highlighted in blue.) Such a pop up should come up. Switch off the easy setting and push the sliders all the way down (strength : 100 , Expansion : 200.)

Choose a color with the square on the bottom bar, next to the rainbow circle and click on the white graphic. It was actually transparent. But now we made it a solid color background.

We will be making the base of the graphic now. See the checkered background on the graphic, below and above the colored base? You will not have that. I just added it to distinguish the graphic from grey background. Ignore it!

Ibispaintx has a variety of free premade 'Materials' available and that's what we'll use to make our base.

I chose the cloth patterns (color). Check 06 (light blue.)

It will be smack bam in the middle. Move it to the side using your fingers. Zoom in, zoom out as per your liking. And press the green tick mark on the bottom.

From the bottom tool bar, select the layers. It is the icon next to '←'. Three papers stacked on top of each other. You see the icon with the + in a white square on the left hand side? From there, duplicate the layers.

Now select the top most layer and in the vertical tool bar on the right hand side select the fourth icon from the top. It will move the duplicated checkered pattern to the other side.

Now add a new layer with the + mark on the left side, above the layer with solid colored background. Make sure to select the correct layer before adding a new one. And open the clipping option. It's highlighted blue in the picture below. It will only add any effects or images you put to the layer below it.

Like we added a free available material from ibispaint in the beginning (the checkered pattern,) we add another one. I chose a transparent geometric pattern. It should be placed automatically on just the solid background. Once you are satisfied with your placement and size, press the green tick mark.

From the layers panel, select the layer with the pattern overlay and change the blending mode if needed.

And delete the layer we first added from the vertical tool bar on the right side. The trash can icon, second from the bottom. Make sure to select the empty layer. But if you delete the wrong layer accidentally just press the undo arrow on the bottom. Fourth one from the right.

Now let's add our model/face claim. From the picture above, you see a camera icon on the left. You click it and it will take you to your gallery. Or you could select images from wherever you saved them. Select one. And since we are still in clipping mode above the colored background, the image will only be in that part. See below.

Once happy with your placement, press the green tick mark.

I added some other pngs in similar fashion. Any thing you add will be added in a new different layer by default.

Let's say you want to change color of some png to match it's surrounding more. Like in the picture below, the purple flowers are standing out a bit too much. We will change it to blue.

From the main tool bar on the side, select the fx icon. It's highlighted blue in the picture. A pop up will come up. Choose hue saturation lightness. Third option from top.

Play around with the settings in the bottom right corner until you like what you see. Press the green tick mark once happy.

To be continued....
