Chapter 69: The Lonely Man

"Namjoon... I know it's a lot for you, I really appreciate it and I'm sorry for rushing you like this! I didn't... I didn't want to mention him to you..." Jimin apologized while Namjoon only continued to drive and let out a soft chuckle to himself.

"I respect that you tried your best to hide him from me, Jimin. I understand and respect that entirely. I just... won't trust him or won't want to see him until I am ready, okay? But just know, I'm doing this for you. Because I know you and I like you, Park Jimin," Namjoon assured. He could feel the anxiety slipping through Jimin's fingers to the point where he was no longer screaming and rushing him at all.

"Thank you... thank you, so much, Namjoon..." Jimin whispered as he pressed his head against the window and only hoped to think of more positive thoughts. "Maybe... it's not that bad... maybe he's okay and this could all be something so small!"

"I won't agree, but I also don't think you should lose your mind. Whatever it is, I know you are going to see him again. If all you say is true," Namjoon repeated to himself and still found it difficult to even think of Jungkook as something so harmless. "Then, I'm sure there will be a way out of this for the both of you."

Namjoon's words were comforting, caring and well thought out. It was all enough for Jimin to think of many scenarios that led to something so small. But, if only he really knew what was at stake right at that very moment. When the road seemed to be longer than usual, they eventually stopped right outside Jungkook's home.

"Woah... that car looks very luxurious..." Namjoon pointed out as Jimin looked towards the direction of the expensive car parked outside of his partner's home.

"That... that car isn't Hoseok's..." Jimin whispered to himself and bolted his gaze from the car to the front door. "Something doesn't seem right..."

"You should go check on him... they did tell you to hurry!" The older man continued on. Leaving Jimin to feel the beat of his own heart race in the emptiness within his chest. Not being able to sense Jungkook's artificial heart beat at the same time as his was something only he could feel. But, in a moment like this, he couldn't feel it at all. He was worried and negative thoughts began to swarm his mind instantly.

"Thank you for everything, Namjoon!" The boy spoke out instantly and ran out of the car, holding his jacket closed as he raced to the front door and knocked very quickly. Yet, with every second to the minute that took longer than expected, Jimin finally tried for the door knob to realize that it was left unlocked this whole time.

He spent no other second to lose; Jimin quickly pushed the door forward and opened the door before looking around the room to see Taehyung holding onto what seemed to be Hoseok. He couldn't tell what was happening until the man being held in a locked back hug, finally acknowledged the young man at the door.

"Jimin!" Hoseok spoke out and let out a nervous laugh. "Weird how this is our second time meeting! Ah, I'll spare the introduction..."

"What-"

"Keep your voice down! If they hear us, they will lock the door..." Taehyung whispered as he continued to look at Jimin. "I'm sorry..."

"What's happening?" Jimin asked in a softer whisper while he closed the door behind himself very softly. "Where's Jungkook? And why are you holding onto him like that, Taehyung?"

"Kim Seokjin, the creator said Taehyung can't let go of me...not until they're done taking Jungkook apart! It is a demand and he can't break out of it. But, there's no time to explain..." Hoseok whispered and nudged his head forward to where the hallway was. "Go inside Jungkook's room, there is a journal within a wardrobe, take it out and go down the hallway to the last door! Don't make a sound..."

"Why can't I just go there now?"

"Take the journal in there! It's Jungkook's. You can't change that man's mind with just your existence... you need more proof..." Hoseok continued to speak to Jimin in whispers and guide him through this. The boy however, couldn't grasp onto what was happening, he only dared to follow Hoseok's words and walk into Jungkook's room. "Be quick!" He hissed in a louder whisper that Jimin could still hear even as he walked further into his partner's room.

There were no thoughts going through Jimin's head. Only his heart raced and his eyes scanned the room until it dropped onto the wardrobe far ahead. In seconds, he quickly reached the wardrobe and pulled it open to delve into the many clothing that was scattered there until he found what he was looking for.

At the same time, Yoongi began to pick up a peculiar sound of noise that only pointed his head to the direction of the door. Seokjin on the other hand, was still going back and forth in his head as he looked at the many files Jungkook had and the many endless nights he spent alone in his office. All he had to blame for that was Jungkook himself and revenge was what he craved, but there was something off when it came to completely giving in to what he truly longed for. He couldn't carry on even if he truly wanted to.

"I... heard something..." Yoongi whispered as he finally stood up from the computers and slowly approached the direction of the door while Seokjin just couldn't acknowledge him at this very moment. "Did that android let Hoseok go? Sir, may I go investigate?"

"Yeah... sure, whatever..." Seokjin replied, not really processing Yoongi's question until... the door suddenly flung open.

Instantly, Jimin slammed the door open. Heart racing and his breathing became heavy while his eyes scattered along the room and finally stopped at the center. Only then did his eyes notice that Jungkook was lying on the surgical table, not responding or acknowledging that his true love was in the same room as him. Something he would never do unless he was just not active. The mere sight of Jungkook laying there, his compartment open and his eyes pitch black left Jimin to scream as all he could ever think was to run towards him in hopes to save his lover.

"JUNGKOOK!" Jimin cried as he spent no other second than to run to him, hoping to save him now even if he had no idea how to. Yoongi on the other hand was swift, he abruptly grabbed Jimin before he could lay a finger on his partner. Instantly causing Jimin to toss the journal forward until it slid across the cold ground.

"NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HIM?!" Jimin screamed, his scream carried his pain throughout the room until it left Seokjin to quickly turn to his direction and notice the journal he tossed forward in that very instance. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HIM? WHY DOES HE LOOK LIKE THAT? LET ME GO!"

"Park... Jimin... right?" Seokjin asked and smiled. "I know you... Yoongi's memories of you taught me everything there is needed to know of you... oh, where are my manners? My name is Kim Seokjin, the creator of all things artificially intelligent but I'm sure you know that by now. Oh, and holding you back is Min Yoongi. Yoongi, say hello to your familiar friend..."

"I... know him," Yoongi mentioned as he tried his best to hold Jimin back. "He is Jungkook's neighbor. Yet, that's all I can recall... I spoke to him just at the beginning of my new run," Yoongi mentioned and looked at Jimin. "It's very nice to see you again but, please stop putting up a fight, you will hurt yourself..."

"Let me go! You can't do this to me! SEOKJIN PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO ME, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH HE MEANS TO ME!"

"Hm... sounds like you've said this before... How odd and how familiar," the older creator continued as he walked forward and finally picked up the journal into his hands. "You, you are very careful with who you give your heart to but, somehow, you always give it to the wrong ones. With Yoongi, you thought you found the one and trusted him too soon. He wanted to be human just for you.. and when that happened you lost him. Then Jungkook came along, an android that is very unpredictable and dangerous when it comes to an obsession with humans. You gave your heart to him too and that only led you back into the same place you've been before."

"What?" Yoongi asked, confused since he had no recollection of the past as he stood there, holding onto this familiar stranger while Jimin couldn't dare to look at him even once.

"Don't you get tired? Giving your heart to the ones who won't last long enough in your world to stay forever?"

"PLEASE LET'S JUST SKIP THIS! LET JUNGKOOK GO, HE MEANS SO MUCH TO ME!"

"Ouch, what if Yoongi remembered you? Would you say that in front of him? You wouldn't... because Yoongi meant so much to you too and once Jungkook stepped in, you forgot all about him."

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?!"

"Ah, I'm saying that Jungkook won't mean that much to you once he's gone! A living example of that is Yoongi. He doesn't recall you... and you moved on from him. In time you will forget about those feelings you have for Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook is not good for you, he's a bad creation and I have to get rid of him. I'd rather work on recovering Yoongi's memories for you rather than letting you live on with something as dangerous as that!"

"You... you don't know what you're saying! You can't do that to me! You've already taken Yoongi from me, you can't take Jungkook too! Do you just think you can fix Yoongi's memories and then I will just drop Jungkook from my heart just like that? How distant are you from human beings that you think this is okay?!"

"Please calm down..." Yoongi whispered as Jimin couldn't dare to acknowledge him right now. Not when Seokjin was more than ready to act on his plan he had been holding back on for quite a while.

"You had no issue moving on from him before, I don't see why can't you do it again. Although, this time I do recommend you stay away from androids. They're not real, you know."

"You don't know what you're talking about... Jeon Jungkook is more real than any human or android out there!" Jimin cried as tears began to fall down his beautiful brown gaze. "Go through his memories if you don't believe me.. Hoseok a-asked me to bring that journal with me just so you can see it and I'm sure there is something in there that can support us when we say Jungkook is different than what you think!"

Seokjin took a second as he looked at the journal in his hands and slowly looked up at Jimin, watching how the young man continued to kick and try to make his way to Jungkook no matter how difficult it was. Even if he knew Yoongi was physically stronger, he refused to show that he gave up trying.

"I... I can't lose him, Seokjin... I can't lose him! You can't take him from me, please don't... I don't want to be alone. Nothing will ever feel the same if you do, love... l-love won't ever feel the same and silence will only haunt me! You don't know what it's like to be alone like that, I'm sure you have everyone around you, adoring you and treasuring you! Not like me where I only have a few but Jungkook makes up for it! He means the world to me! Not even... not even my parents call me or try to make any efforts to speak with me. In love, he's all I have. I don't want to be alone again! Please... you wouldn't know what it's like..."

"I wouldn't know what it's like?" Seokjin asked before letting out a scoff and looking at Jimin's direction. There, he began approaching the young man where Yoongi held onto him with a tight grip but not tight enough to crush him. "I... wouldn't know what it's like?! Boy, you don't even know the pain this android has caused me. I've been alone for quite some time now all because of him... all because of his existence. You and I... are on the same boat when it comes to the fear of being alone, Park Jimin. That way, I can relate with you."

"What are you talking about...?"

"I..." Seokjin whispered as he took one glance at Jungkook and back at Jimin. "I wanted that creation gone... Hoseok didn't agree with me at the time and he chose him over me... something that hasn't been with him for so long! Hoseok left me... my own right hand man, my own best friend, my whole entire world! You can't say that I don't fear being alone when... I've lived through it and I can tell you've been through it too. Only difference is that you didn't spend all that time in the dark like I did. You only lived as the lonely man for a short time while I still live with that label following me everywhere. I am a lonely man and I will continue to live like that no matter what I decide to do today. There is no escape to that curse of mine."
