Chapter 68: Only for You

Air thickened and his heart raced. Jimin slid down the wall within the bathroom stall as he tried to sort out his fears at that very second. By now, he was steadying his breathing, but it all became too much for him. Suddenly, he swung open the door to the stall and caught the attention of Namjoon almost instantly.

"Jimin, are you alright?" Namjoon asked, watching the human breathe heavily and try to steady everything and remain calm, yet, he failed at it every time. Just then, the man approached him and began to breathe in and out in hopes that Jimin would follow in sync. "Breathe in... and breathe out..."

Jimin couldn't focus as he watched Namjoon slowly set him down to sit and press his back against the wall. At that moment, one of the Androids standing and conversing with a few people, approached and crouched down to the level of his eyes and looked at him.

"This will go away before you know it... for the meantime, name five things you can see, hear, or feel..." the android mentioned, looking into Jimin's eyes with his blue stare that reminded him so much of his partner. Jimin followed instructions, breathing and distracting himself with the questions he was given. In a moment like this, he recalled Jungkook doing the same thing for him, calming him down when he needed it the most.

As Jimin went on, distracting himself and comforting all thoughts with the help of this stranger and Namjoon, in a matter of five minutes, he was able to breathe normally and all the fears finally left him alone for now. He pressed his head against the wall and let out a sigh, not picking up any words to process while Namjoon thanked the android that walked Jimin through it. He just didn't know how much Jimin would worry over an android.

"Jimin, I'll take you home..." Namjoon's voice suddenly spoke out of the muffled noises Jimin heard. Calling out to him and being the only thing Jimin would hear through the noise.

"We... we have to get out of here, now... we have to hurry..." Jimin whispered as he stood up and looked towards the door that hid under a bright and flashy exit sign. "Take me home now..."

"Jimin, calm down, there's no reason to rush! I'll take you home right now-"

"No, you don't understand! He needs me! We have to go now!" Jimin continued, becoming hysterical in just seconds. As he went on, he tried his best to soothe all thoughts before the situation would take over him once again, he didn't want to lose himself and become weak especially in a moment like this.

Namjoon could see the tears threatening to fall from his eyes when he said those words. In fact, he couldn't really tell why Jimin wanted to leave so badly, but without another word being said, he knew that Jimin had this type of fear, this type of fear that was something that scared him more than being seen by a lot of people at once in a club like this. This was a fear that he had only lived through once and feared to go through it once again. He absolutely hated just the idea of it that it scared him just like this.

At the same time, Seokjin paced around Jungkook's shirtless body at the center of the surgical table. The android laid faced down as his face was pointed towards one side of the room. Within this grim space, Hoseok used to fix Jungkook and give him so many upgrades before and now, was going to be the last room he would ever have anything done to him. Seokjin looked at Jungkook's form and recalled the very first time he brought Jungkook into this world with just a spark of a wire being connected to the next. It was true that he brought many things to life, but nothing as complicated and charming as this one. He knew Jungkook was different and he knew Jungkook was something he had never seen before, but he was so sure that this creation would only cause harm because he was something humans couldn't comprehend and of course, his unpredictable behavior also played a part in this.

Just when the thought of Hoseok lying to him right before his very eyes all for the sake of this android came along in his head, Seokjin only looked away from the android he regretted in many ways. Deep down, he was jealous and angry too. He had no idea why Hoseok chose him at the end of the day and was willing to throw away everything they shared just for this creation right before him.

"I don't see it... I don't see the potential and all the time given into you if all you've done was display how flawed you are. You wouldn't exist in a world like this yet... Hoseok chose you at the end..." Seokjin vented, speaking to himself as Yoongi sat by the computer, connecting to Jungkook's system under his creator's every command. "Maybe I will see it in a memory but just the idea of Hoseok reacting that way to the second I cut your wire... almost makes me want to get to the part where I just scrap you completely... I don't know why he does this to me... we were inseparable until you came along, my only question is.."

Seokjin took a pause. He couldn't seem to find himself to say the question. Maybe he felt a little silly to vent to himself when Jungkook couldn't pick up his words and process a thing and especially when Yoongi could not respond to it at all. Yet, he recalled those lonely nights working from dusk to dawn within his office. All alone of course. That left him to let out a sigh and complete his sentence. He just didn't know his solitude would make him feel so alone even when everyone around the world loved him and his mind for creating companions that would help others who were just like him.

"I wonder... if Hoseok would come back to me if I do this," Seokjin whispered and began to open Jungkook's compartment. Hesitating a little once Hoseok's name slipped out of his plump lips. "He will... hate me at first but maybe then, we will get closer. We're bound to get closer... right?"

The drowning silence filled the room instantly. He could only ponder it longer as he began to connect Jungkook to the PC right by Yoongi. "Maybe he will come back to me. What do you think, Yoongi?"

"I don't know how to answer that, Sir..." Yoongi replied, only looking towards Seokjin to address him but then turned his attention back onto the loading screen over the dual monitors. "On the bright side, Jungkook's information is now loading onto the screen. We will be able to monitor everything he has ever done, check his core information, see what he stored in his data, see his upgrades and when he received them, and all access to his memories including relationship logs."

"Relationship logs... Hoseok did mention that boy's name, 'Park Jimin', what a familiar name, hm, Yoongi?"

"I... do not recall..."

"I don't expect you to. Soon enough, Jungkook wouldn't know that boy either and he... won't be able to see him ever again," Seokjin continued as Yoongi tilted his head and looked over at Seokjin.

"What about Jimin?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, if the human is in a relationship with this android, wouldn't it hurt for him to know that he will never see Jungkook ever again? You should... send him an android to cheer him up and pick up his broken pieces after this one, right?"

"Yoongi..." Seokjin said into a calm whisper into his monotone voice. "He had an android before, and that android was deactivated."

"Well, you wouldn't know that..."

"I deactivated that android, I've watched the memories of that android, I know so, Yoongi. I think, if I pull through with this, Jimin won't need another android. I think he's too dependent on the androids just like any other human being out there. Jungkook isn't what he needs, he will only teach him to stay within and never look outward."

Yoongi processed those words and as the system was completely loaded, Yoongi's eyes met with the many files that were loaded into Jungkook's system. Some that were made by Hoseok and some that were made by Jungkook himself. Those files he longed to keep for an eternity were labeled as 'Jimin's favorite meals', 'Jimin's favorite song', the list went on and all the insignificant things to an android, were something more when it came to Jungkook because he treasured all of it. Something other androids couldn't do.

Yoongi began to scroll through as Seokjin was locked in his own thoughts. The android was speechless at the sight of it all, he couldn't comprehend the type of creation Jungkook was and how capable he was of having so much control over himself. This only left Yoongi curious to know so much more and what else Jungkook was capable of.

"Sir..." Yoongi whispered as he looked back to see Seokjin lost in his own world until he burst that bubble of his. "Did you know about this?"

"About what?" Seokjin questioned. Dragging his feet as he dared to get closer; his eyes slowly met with the screen and his index finger pushed up the center of his round glasses in seconds just to see what Yoongi was pointing out.

Instantly, Seokjin's vast mind filled with the many thoughts of Jungkook having complete control of himself to the point where he stored a lot of things into his system, many things that androids couldn't about a human being. It was astonishing to him, yet, he couldn't tell if he wanted to know more or if he had seen enough. He was trapped at a crossroad when it came to letting Jungkook go or taking revenge and putting him away.

Jimin at the time was becoming impatient, he rushed Namjoon every second they were at a stop light and the older man was just as confused as Jimin. He didn't know what was going on but all he could recall was Jimin losing his mind and constantly looking at the clock as if his life was going to flash before his eyes in any second.

"Jimin, please! We are at a stop light, don't tell me to drive right now!" Namjoon spoke up as Jimin fidgeted with his fingers and continued to look around but never stare at Namjoon too long in order to capture his gaze.

"NAMJOON PLEASE! I NEED TO HURRY!"

"Jimin, are you kidding me? You don't even know what's happening!" Namjoon hissed and kept his hands on the steering wheel. "Calm down...I'm sure that whatever it is, everything will be fine!"

"No... you don't get it! Taehyung called me.... Then Hoseok told me to hurry and something about Jungkook and now I can't hold still or think straight! I told Jungkook I loved him and how afraid I was to lose him and now... and now I-I have to go back or something bad will happen! Something really bad!" Jimin sputtered, losing his breath each time he spoke and not really noticing the second he mentioned Jungkook's name. Leaving Namjoon silent while he stared at the traffic lights up ahead.

"Jungkook...?" He whispered. That familiar name left him pondering until his eyes set onto his long sleeve just concealing his scar. "I... knew a Jungkook once..."

"Namjoon... I didn't mean to say-"

"Is he an android?" Namjoon asked and looked towards Jimin to see the young man not returning his gaze. "Because... I thought I was going crazy when I saw him at your place... and when I dropped you off, I saw him again... I thought it was just my trauma but... if Jungkook is who you're talking about-"

"Namjoon..."

"Is he the android you're speaking of? That monster?" Namjoon whispered before tears began to escape his eyes. "Jimin, if something is happening to that android, maybe you should let it happen... I... I don't want to be the one to tell you this but that creation... he's dangerous..."

"No... no, you don't know what he's capable of, Namjoon! He's different!" Jimin went on as he finally looked at Namjoon and back at the traffic lights that took an eternity to shine a green hue. The longer it took, the more Jimin buried himself in his own grave of anxiety.

"Capable of? He caused this scar on my arm! He's the android that traumatized me into distancing myself from androids entirely! You... you can't save him if he's in danger, he... he might hurt you too and what if then you distance yourself from Taehyung? Jimin, I've seen how dangerous that android could get. I was working in that department when he was getting tested. I was the one he targeted and 'loved'. You know, his 'love', isn't as innocent as you may think it is and-"

"I know! I know already, I know what he's capable of and I know his flaws! I know his past, not all of it but I know enough to see that Jungkook isn't as perfect as all the other androids out there but he..." Jimin took a pause and continued to look at the red lights shining ahead. Once silence became louder and louder between them, Jimin dared to break through it once more and dry his own tears. Becoming distracted at what was at stake for just this moment. "I know... he harmed you... I know what he has done isn't right. There is no excuse for that and I hold him accountable for it all. But in a way, I know he could feel guilt and shame for what he's done and he has displayed that. He regrets just like any other human out there, Namjoon. I am that difference for him and he is that safe space for me in a room filled with so many people. Jeon Jungkook isn't perfect but he... can change just like a human could."

"I..."

"Jungkook harmed you before... he knows that and regrets it. Some humans out there won't even care about that, it's what makes him way more different than any other creation or even better than some human beings out there!"

Jimin's words were assuring as the older man let out a sigh and dried his own tears. This moment alone eased Jimin and served as a distraction once more while the man behind the wheel began to trust Jimin's every word. He admired Jimin and understood that this was something worth fighting for. Jungkook was someone worth fighting for and even if Namjoon couldn't trust it just yet, he knew Jimin and trusted him and his words.

"I don't want to trust him but I... I believe you... and I'm doing this. If all you say is true, I'm doing this... only for you, Jimin," Namjoon pushed himself to say as he firmly grasped the wheel before him. Waiting until the lights turned green to give him that sign to go for it. At that moment, Jimin knew it was tough for Namjoon and he was truly trying his best in breaking away from the painful memory his scar reminded him of. Just little by little, he was taking his time and not rushing himself with something so sensitive like that.
