Chapter 47: He's Here
The idea of not going anywhere for a long time assured and eased many worries that ran wild in his restless mind. He didn't enjoy the feeling of losing someone else and that was Jungkook now. After arguing with Taehyung, he just knew he wasn't going to see the android for a while again. He only wished he could find a way to heal things between them, but Jungkook was the source of that issue and what Taehyung spoke was something Jimin found difficult to understand especially when it came to his partner being seen in a negative light.
"Why are you talking like this?" Jungkook questioned as he noticed the silence that began to emit from the young man. "Jimin, I'm not someone who will neglect you like your parents or just leave you like any other. I'm here for you and that will be an eternity or until you decide you don't want me anymore."
"Don't want you anymore? That's cruel, Jungkook... I will always want you..." Jimin assured and ran his hand up to caress the side of Jungkook's face carefully. "I always will..."
"I'm glad that you will..." Jungkook replied and softly kissed the center of Jimin's palm. "Jimin, can you answer my question? Why are you talking like this?"
"I... I talked to Taehyung earlier today and... he told me things... things he speculated about you as if he truly knew you. But I didn't believe them at all! He said that you were a danger to me, could you believe that?" Jimin asked and said it into a soft chuckle. "I didn't want to believe him and then he... he left. At the time I didn't feel bad but-"
"You don't think I'm a danger to you, right?" Jungkook curiously asked, interrupting the young man and looking into his eyes. Suddenly the air around him thickened the moment Jungkook's eyes fell from a pink back to a blue hue. The color that always tended to keep Jimin alert when he was around the android. After Jungkook asked that question, he slowly ran his hand up to tuck a piece of his silk hair behind his ear. "I'm not a danger to you... right?"
"Of... of course you're not! You would never hurt me..."
"Then trust that I will always tell you something if there's anything wrong with me, okay?" Jungkook asked to assure as the human only nodded and kept his gaze locked onto the hypnotic stare Jungkook had that was dyed in blue. "Get some rest, you're very tired..."
With the gentle run of his fingertips along the nape of Jimin's neck after saying such demanding words coated in the warming sound of his comforting voice, it was enough to send shivers down his spine and cause the human to press his head against Jungkook's neck once more. He knew he felt safe in the arms of the one he began to love, but somehow there was always something that tended to make him feel a little concerned and it always started with those blue eyes of his.
In a few days time, Jimin had already changed the lock screen within his phone to the picture he took of the beach that day he first kissed Jungkook. There were no traces of Yoongi in his life now, he didn't want to hold onto the photo of the ocean when only somber memories were attached to it. Now that he was with Jeon Jungkook, he knew he didn't have to hold on to Yoongi any longer and so, he finally moved on completely. Of course, he had only thought so. Moving on to him meant getting over the one he tried so hard to forget and once Jungkook came into his life, it made things easier for him... or so he thought.
Jimin remained alone for the most part of the day. He didn't have anyone else to turn to when no one but Jungkook was in his life now. Before, he would expect Taehyung to knock at the door and keep him company for the rest of the day but now, he hasn't heard from the android ever since that day they argued. At that moment, Jimin just never knew how important that young android was to him until he lost a good friend.
Jimin sat by the window after eating. Staring out at the gloomy skies ahead and waiting for someone to come and see him. There was never a moment where he would push himself to go out like before. He was so used to staying home all for the android that now, he didn't bother to go out now. He, of course, realized this but did nothing to fix it. He was too accustomed to the way he was living with Jungkook now that he had no issue with it.
As the lonely human remained staring out the window, he began to think about Taehyung again.
"He's been ignoring me for days now... I can't wait for him to come here, maybe I should call him again like I did yesterday," Jimin whispered to himself and pressed the tip of his finger against the cold glass. "I miss him... I shouldn't have been so cruel to Taehyung at all. When Jungkook leaves to recharge, who do I have? I'm back to square one. Only this time, I have no one..." Jimin thought to himself until the idea of Namjoon came to mind again. "But... I do have at least one friend I can become close with... and he's not even an android! Ah, I feel so bad for distancing myself from him when Jungkook took all of my time," Jimin mentioned as he recalled that day he spent with the human.
It was the change of scenery he always wanted. To spend it outside despite having his social anxiety wear him down each time he stepped into a public space. With Namjoon, it was a fresh new start that could help him step out of his home and actually help him become less dependent. With the thought of it in mind, Jimin suddenly felt bad that he only occasionally texted Namjoon the usual good morning texts and followed up with nothing after so this time, he was determined to become a better friend to Namjoon.
Jimin pulled himself away from the window and closed the curtains shut. Not allowing a hint of light to shine in and finally pulled his phone out. Still trying to get used to his new lockscreen that not only represented his love for Jungkook, but also displayed him moving on from Yoongi. Once Jimin's eyes fell onto the lockscreen, he was reminded of what was there before but also, warmth overcame him knowing how beautiful that day was when he first kissed Jungkook underneath the stars.
Once Jimin began to dial Namjoon's number, he laid back and looked up at the ceiling from his couch and held the phone against his ear. Waiting to hear his voice and hoping to start anew with his life. These four lonely walls were beginning to make him feel sick and now he only hoped to change it for the better.
"Good morning, Namjoon," Jimin said into the call to hear a happy response from the older man.
"Jimin! It's been a while since I've heard your voice. Texting is just never enough, you know? How have you been?"
"I've been well, thanks for asking. You know I really haven't been out for a while so I was hoping we could hang out again soon. Last time was amazing," Jimin mentioned right off the bat. Normally he would be too shy to bring this up in person but yet again, this was over the phone and nowhere near being confrontational where it was face to face.
He could feel the usual smile Namjoon would usually give him. The deep dimples stapled in his mind at that moment and he could tell Namjoon hoped for the same.
"Yes, we should! I feel bad that we don't hang out often, it was just that time but it should be regular! You're a fun person to be around," Namjoon claimed as he listened to Jimin let out a giggle right after.
"I guess that's my fault, I haven't really made any plans on going out but that should change now. When should we go out?" Jimin asked as Namjoon took a pause to think.
"Hm... maybe not today, but how about Saturday night? We should go out for drinks! I hope it won't be too much for you. I remember when Taehyung mentioned you were a little shy at first. If anything, we could bring Taehyung. What do you think?"
"That's great..." Jimin spoke and let out a sigh right after. "Taehyung... I haven't heard from him for a few days now, have you?"
"Oh... not really, I thought you were more in touch with him. Last time I spoke with him was a few days ago before he mentioned that he was going to visit a friend. I assumed it was you," Namjoon replied, but his lack of knowing where the android was concerned Jimin even more. "We shouldn't worry, maybe he ran into another human and has been occupied with that human for quite some time now."
"Yeah... maybe that's the case," the younger man mentioned before thinking to himself. "Androids... aren't capable of holding a bad argument in their head for a long time, right?"
"Well they can, but they wouldn't ignore a human over it. Did you argue with Taehyung over something?"
"Yeah... but... it was over something that wasn't that important," Jimin replied. Tucking away the idea of Jungkook from another every time. "You know, the words he told me before he left that day seemed as if he was really hurt and I couldn't stop thinking about him. I tried calling him yesterday but I guess I called him when he was recharging because it went straight to voicemail."
"Well I'm sure he will get back to you once he is fully recharged," Namjoon assured. "I can't imagine Taehyung being upset with you. I'm sure it's water under the bridge now. Androids can get upset with a human but they get over it in no time. Nothing to hold a grudge on here because at the end of the day, they just protect and serve humans. They don't have feelings that would get in the way of doing their job."
"Right... well I just hope that-"
Abruptly, there was a knock at the door. It was a quick and familiar one the second he heard the hollow knock cutting though his thoughts and interrupting his train of thought, he stopped for a second to look at the door.
"Jimin?"
"I think that must be Taehyung," spoke the man as he got up and listened to the knock once more, following the time in between each knock as well, just the way an android would do it. "Yeah, that's Taehyung. No doubt about that."
"Oh alright then, if that is him, we should plan on getting drinks together on Saturday then!" Namjoon replied as Jimin reached the door and began to unlock it without feeling the need to check through the peephole. He was just so sure that this was his dear friend, he didn't become paranoid whatsoever.
Once Jimin pulled the door open, his eyes blew wide and his blood went cold. His mouth became dry and his skin grew as pale as the white snow just sitting outside. Jimin was frozen in place the second his eyes latched onto the android that stood before him. This android of course, was not Taehyung, but it was Min Yoongi himself. Memorizing the route to the neighborhood through Taehyung's memories, but standing before Jimin. The one that gave him such a familiar feeling he couldn't help but to become curious about.
"He's here, Min Yoongi..." Jimin thought in his head but he could never push himself to say that name ever again when the one that got away, was standing before him like he wasn't deactivated long ago.
