Chapter 15: All I Know
The sound of his name coming out from his own lips sounded so eerie to the living man, he couldn't believe he was only seconds away from telling Jungkook all about what caused him to change so much, he almost hesitated again. However, Jimin was determined to know more about Jungkook so he sucked it up for now and began to tell Jungkook just the bits and pieces of what made the beach so special.
"The beach... used to be our favorite spot to go to. It was our escape. That's it," Jimin quickly summarized the story and listened to Jungkook let out a scoff. "Your turn."
"Hey, I gave you more than that..." Jungkook replied and looked Jimin in the eyes. "Talk to me, I will listen... I'm more capable of understanding than any other robot out there," The robot continued and slowly ran his hand down to hold onto Jimin's carefully. After this, Jimin was already beginning to rethink his own words in order to tell Jungkook the whole story the second he touched his hand subtly. "I want to know a bit more than that, won't you tell me?~"
There he went again, the gentle rasp to his voice was enough to make Jimin succumb to the robots wishes already. Jimin began to mold his words together in order to tell Jungkook the full story but only in bits so it wouldn't harm Jungkook entirely, even if Jungkook seemed and claimed to be different, Jimin found it difficult to even think of being the cause of his deactivation when it came to loading him with too much information. He had to admit it, he was scared of losing such a friend he couldn't even dream of harming.
"Okay..." Jimin whispered and watched as Jungkook retracted his hand.
The gentle and soft tips of the Android's finger outlined the small details to the human's skin carefully. Even if Jimin knew Jungkook's skin wasn't real, the touch of his hand was realistic enough, he almost doubted that the young android was just a creation. Jimin then began to continue cutting the green onions as he formed the words in his mind and began to speak.
"Min Yoongi... he was an android... an introverted android at that, and I met him at the beach. I was there because I wanted to be alone, he was there because he wanted to be alone too, but that doesn't work for him. When Android's are alone, it doesn't exist since they tend to shut off so when I got there, he was off while standing. I thought it was weird and I was just curious so I approached him and after that...." Jimin took a pause and added the green onions to a clear bowl. "We became so close that I even began to pursue a relationship with him. The beach became something so special to us, it was where we first met..."
The smile on Jimin's face began to emerge at the memory and Jungkook caught onto it. The robot stood there and continued to observe the way Jimin smiled at the memory, yet, he only remained there in silence and acknowledged that Jimin fell in love with a robot in the past. The second Jungkook finally processed the idea, he only leaned in and set his elbows to the counter and removed the existing space that was formed between them. Knowing that the conversation was personal, Jungkook just didn't want to move further away and speak louder, he kept his voice in the usual whisper that always sent shivers down Jimin's spine.
"Is that the only memory you associate with the beach?"
"Yes... it reminds me of him so much that at times, I tend to miss him," Jimin confessed and suddenly let out a giggle. "I never thought... I would say those words out loud and especially to others..."
"I'm glad you can tell me all about it, Jimin." Jungkook's words were always gentle towards the human. He began to ponder many questions but of course, he knew Jimin wouldn't answer them until he was to continue his explanation next. "I wish we could just talk it out first without having to go back and forth..."
"I would love that, but I'm not sure what you're capable of holding. I don't want it to be too much for you," the young man mentioned and looked over at Jungkook as he took another pause at cooking. "It could be too much for you... you're a good android, I don't want anything bad to happen to your system if I tell you too much..."
"If it makes you nervous, then we should continue like this," Jungkook answered and raised his hand to set it over Jimin's shoulder while he kept his face close to the human. "I'm glad the beach holds such a good memory to you..."
"At times, it does... at times it doesn't. It's confusing for me...I went from loving that creation to hating him for deactivating over something that could have been avoided. Something so simple... that could have been avoided..."
Jungkook caught onto the frustration that began to surface in Jimin's emotions. The young man stood before the counter and finally set his hands down over it where the cutting board remained before him where the knife captured his reflection within the blade. "I was so stupid... I don't... want that to happen with anyone else... so I can't give you too much information at once."
"I understand, Jimin... thank you for looking out for me," Jungkook replied softly and patted Jimin's back carefully and shifted that touch to a gentle caress in order to comfort him. "I'm sure you did the best you could."
All those little actions and words Jungkook spoke was something Jimin never expected to hear from an android. He was so used to Taehyung pushing those words away, that he didn't think Jungkook would say every right word he wanted to hear when it came to being comforted. Jimin cleared his thoughts on his past relationship and nodded his head before looking Jungkook in his beautiful and bright blue eyes.
"Thank you, Jungkook... you really are different from other Androids and I don't mean that as something bad, but something great," Jimin mentioned and grew red the second Jungkook stopped caressing his back and comforting him. "Y-Your turn..." Jimin sputtered and hid his red face away from Jungkook by looking in the other direction and continuing to cook.
"You asked before that if there were other differences I have that differs me from the rest of the androids, there are many things about me that other robots don't have..." Jungkook continued and watched how Jimin distracted himself from blushing by cooking. "I display my emotions through my eyes... emotions other robots don't have, I can think and process things while other robots don't have a thought, I can understand feelings way better than most robots and I can act on my own and I'm not programmed to have any limits. I can do anything... anything... and I won't be limited at all," Jungkook confessed.
"That's very interesting, I didn't think there would ever be a creation like you. Is that why you stay at home all day? Are you hiding from someone?"
"I... I'm just introverted that's all," Jungkook quickly shot the question down and looked away from Jimin as if he wasn't worthy of looking Jimin in the eyes at that moment. "I just stay home because I am an introverted type... I guess that does keep me at a similarity with the rest... but other than that, I don't fit in with them."
"That's okay if you don't fit in with them. You don't have to fit in and if you want to fit in with humans, it will be impossible since you're not that either. You're your own creation and that's okay. You can fit in with me," Jimin stated and finally looked to where Jungkook stood. "You're a good little android, you don't have to fit in with anything or anyone, we can both fit in and have our differences."
Jungkook was silent. His thoughts were wiped clean the second Jimin said those words. It was no secret Jimin began to feel closer with the android after opening up the small hole which would release all of his inner thoughts to someone he was beginning to trust. Of course, Jimin didn't have any bad thoughts about Jungkook, even if Jungkook was smart enough to use Jimin's curiosity against him in order to get to know his secrets, Jimin only deemed the robot as an intelligent creation.
"You're a good friend to me, Jimin... others would turn me in or tell a friend, but you wouldn't, at least... I hope so..."
"You can trust me, Jungkook, I wouldn't tell another living soul. You understand me, and I understand you," Jimin claimed and continued to cook while Jungkook was too distracted by looking at the human and pondering the lovely words he always dreamed to hear but could never have another tell it to him word for word.
Eventually, the two sat together on the couch while Jimin was the only one eating. Jimin sat with Jungkook as space never seemed to exist between them. The way they sat next to each other displayed how close they were bonding after talking. Jimin let out giggles and smiles at the interesting things Jungkook would just bring up. In fact, they took pauses between their personal secrets to even talk about the silly things that revealed so much more to their personality.
"You can't be serious!" Jimin said into a charming giggle as he hid his smile behind his small hand. While he hid his gleeful laughter, his other hand held onto the bowl of the beef flavored ramen; inside the bowl was a boiled egg cut in half, small strands of beef, minced green onions and seaweed. "There's no way you are programmed to do that!"
"It's true and I'm pretty sure other robots can do it too. If our purpose is to serve humans, why wouldn't we be programmed to know how to have sex?" Jungkook continued and listened to Jimin's charming giggled until he placed his bowl onto the table to avoid dropping it. "That's also another thing that keeps us similar in some ways, I thought you would have known this by now, you were in a relationship with an android after all."
"I was, but that doesn't mean I did anything with him! I... I didn't, I didn't even know that robots were capable of doing it, how does that work? How can they do that if they aren't human?"
"I would explain it to you, but you wouldn't understand it completely unless you see for yourself. It's difficult to explain but all I can say is that it's just like having sex with another human being, just... without the fluids."
"Ah, I've lost my appetite!" Jimin joked and turned away from Jungkook as the robot smiled to himself the more he listened to Jimin's laughter. "It seems that there's so much I didn't know about androids. I know the differences you have with them... but, what if they are defects? Shouldn't you get them checked out soon?"
"They aren't defects, Jimin. I was made differently... for a reason I'm just not sure about," answered the young creation. At that moment, Jungkook pressed his head back against the couch and began to stare at the ceiling as he began to think more about it. "If it's a defect, it would be driving me insane until I get it fixed."
Those words alone reminded Jimin of Taehyung and how odd he reacted just before. This caused the man to look at Jungkook and nod his head.
"You're right... I think my friend has a defect. He wasn't able to set foot in here longer than he normally would since he began to pick up an ultrasound frequency messing with his sensors. I still don't know what was the cause of it, but you don't hear anything like that, right?" Jimin asked and watched as Jungkook raised a brow and shook his head. "Then it's just him... I hope he gets it checked out... I'm worried and-"
"I'm sure he will be fine," Jungkook assured and slowly tipped his head to the side where he looked into Jimin's sweet eyes once more. "Of course, why wouldn't he? We all tend to have a few defects as we run, it's natural. He will be fine."
"You really are different from the rest, I thought you would hear it too, but you can't... Jungkook is not made like the others. He's different, but why do I feel like I don't care about that?" Jimin thought and smiled to himself once more. "I think we're going to be good friends... he's intelligent, funny, understanding. So far, I see no flaws in him, just an innocent and sweet android... What can go wrong with something as sweet as this? This is all I know and so far, I like it."
