Part Two
Later that day...
Sitting down on the sofa in the living room, Osomatsu pulled out his sketch pad, beginning to draw as he listened to Karamatsu play the piano just a few feet away from him.
Todomatsu was currently out, buying groceries with their mother for once, which was an odd thing for him to do, but nobody cared enough to say anything.
On the floor next to the piano, Ichimatsu and Jyushimatsu rolled around like two rambunctious kittens, irritating the living daylights out of Choromatsu.
Jyushimatsu rolled away on his stomach, escaping Ichimatsu, giggling like a small child. Then, he proceeded to force himself down next to Karamatsu on the piano bench.
"Hey, Karamatsu," Choromatsu began, closing a magazine he had been scanning, looking for jobs. "You never really talked much about how things have been going. Is something the matter?"
"I bet he has a secret girlfriend!" Jyushimatsu began to laugh obnoxiously, shaking Karamatsu by his shoulders until he stopped playing the piano. "Isn't that right?!"
"Leave him alone," Osomatsu spoke, though he kept his focus on his drawing. "He's been having a really stressful time."
Osomatsu smiled in satisfaction as he looked at his quick, five minute sketch of Karamatsu. Pulling out an eraser, he began to clean the messy sketch up a bit.
"Like the idiot of the family would know anything at all...you're just selfish...Why would you even care about Karamatsu? You were just a jealous pile of garbage the day he left. You can never be happy for anyone but yourself," Ichimatsu muttered under his breath.
Osomatsu's smile fell, taking on every word Ichimatsu had just spoken to him.
"I don't want to believe that. I want to tell myself he's only lying...but Ichimatsu rarely lies..." Osomatsu thought, lowering his head so the only things he could see was the floor below and his sketch.
"Well," Karamatsu turned around, ignoring what Ichimatsu had just said. He uneasily faced all of his brothers (though he kept his hands resting on the piano keys), a sheepish smile on his face again. He seemed to be doing that a lot, as if all the confidence he had once had just vanished. "It hasn't been too stressful."
"Then stop acting so gloomy," Ichimatsu hissed darkly, surprising his brother by slamming the lid of the piano on his fingers.
"OH MY GOD," Karamatsu screeched out, falling backwards off of the piano bench. He crashed into the coffee table behind the piano, immediately groaning in pain.
Jyushimatsu and Ichimatsu both began to snicker, as did Choromatsu.
"I need my hands!" Karamatsu gasped, shaking them a little, his eyes wide with fear.
"You're being too serious..." Ichimatsu muttered. "It's making me uncomfortable. Also, what's with you looking so sickly..."
"Have you not been eating?" Choromatsu immediately questioned as Osomatsu slid off the sofa and pulled Karamatsu up off of the floor, while Jyushimatsu continued to laugh. "You really need to take care of yourself!"
"Yeah!" Jyushimatsu agreed as he managed to stop laughing. "We love you too much to see you get sick, Karamatsu nii-san!"
"We should all go get dinner somewhere then," Osomatsu suggested quietly. "But..I mean if that's a bad idea, you know, we don't have to or anything...it's not l-"
Karamatsu pulled Osomatsu into a weak hug, grinning.
"That's a great idea!" Karamatsu tried to sound happy, though his voice was weak. He ruffled Osomatsu's hair with his fingers, still smiling. "We haven't gone out in a long time, anyways."
"Should we wait for Todomatsu?" Choromatsu asked as Ichimatsu and Jyushimatsu began to wrestle on the floor again. "Or do you want me to call him and tell him to meet us there?"
"Ehh..." Ichimatsu mumbled as Jyushimatsu pinned him down on the floor, declaring victory. "Todomatsu doesn't matter though...He wasn't here to see Karamatsu when he came home earlier."
"T-That wasn't a big deal!" Karamatsu laughed nervously. "Come on guys, we can wait for him! It won't be too long, I'm sure."
"Fine," Ichimatsu sighed, prying Jyushimatsu's hands off of his neck. "Oh...Karamatsu...there's something important I've been meaning to ask you, too. Could we go to the roof?"
The entire room fell silent, all eyes on Karamatsu. Ichimatsu never needed to talk to Karamatsu.
Osomatsu felt jealousy building up inside of him, as he was watching Ichimatsu and Karamatsu exit the room two minutes later.
"I wonder if Karamatsu even remembers all those time we shared together. Is he never going to forgive me for how I acted two years ago?! I'm sure he would have been upset if one of us randomly decided to leave home, too!" Osomatsu thought angrily to himself.
