*‌‌‌🚨We call on the international community, the United Nations and various international organizations to support efforts to count the victims and recover thousands of bodies in the Gaza Strip

The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip expresses its deep concern about the results of the British study published in "The Lancet" magazine, which indicates that the number of deaths resulting from violent injuries in the Gaza Strip between October 7, 2023 and June 30, 2024 has reached 64,260 deaths, which is a significant increase over the number announced by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which announces the number of martyrs who arrive at hospitals only, and this also reflects the extent of the disaster carried out by the "Israeli" occupation army against civilians and civilian sectors and facilities in the Gaza Strip.

We, at the Government Media Office, confirm that this gap is the result of the inability to record all victims killed by the "Israeli" occupation in all governorates, and in light of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions and the restrictive standards adhered to by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip. The continued killing, siege, targeting of medical personnel, destruction of hospitals, and prevention of the work of civil defense teams are also hindering efforts to recover and bury thousands of bodies, which makes the statistics provided reflect a limited part of the bitter reality experienced by our honorable Palestinian people.

We call on the international community, the United Nations, and various international institutions and organizations to provide the necessary support to help us record the real number of victims, which is much higher than what is announced, as the British study concluded. We also call on them to work to enable rescue and civil defense teams to reach the areas affected and damaged by the "Israeli" aggression to recover the bodies and ensure their burial with dignity, in line with the heavenly religions and international humanitarian standards.

We call on the international community and the Security Council to take effective and urgent action to stop the "Israeli" aggression on the Gaza Strip and lift the unjust siege imposed on more than 2,444,000 civilians in the Gaza Strip, which has caused the largest humanitarian disaster in decades.

The continuation of the security campaign by the Authority's security forces in Jenin camp, and their immersion in Palestinian blood, and the executions and killings that have claimed the lives of 19 martyrs, portend dire consequences for the Palestinian national and societal scene.

We warn against the Authority's complete disregard for all national and popular calls, and human rights demands to stop the persecution of our people and to stop committing its repressive practices that only serve the occupation.

We call on all components of our society in the West Bank to intervene immediately to stop the bloodshed committed by the Authority's security forces, and to exercise maximum pressure to prevent the commission of more crimes and violations against the Palestinian people and their valiant resistance, and to make every effort to lift the siege imposed on Jenin camp for the second month in a row.
