"GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE!" My father screamed at me. "I can't believe you!! WE DID NOT RAISE A FAGGOT!!" My mother screamed at me causing me to flinch with her homophobic slurs.

*About 15 minutes earlier*

"Mom? Dad? I need to tell you something," I say kind of nervous because my parents didn't really like the LGBTQ+ community. It hit me that I was actually about to tell them that I was gay.

They both walk into the room and sit down across from me. "Yes Tyler?" My mom asks me. "I-I um.... I'm g-gay," I manage to stutter out. They both just stare at me before their faces go bright red. My father stands up and grabs my collar forcing me to stand as well. "GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE!!" He screams into my face. "I cant believe you!! WE DID NOT RAISE A FAGGOT!!" My mother screams as well causing me to flinch. My father drops me. "Get out," he says. I just stare at them. "DID YOU NOT HEAR YOUR FATHER?!!??? GET OUT!!" My mother screams slapping me. That snaps me out of my trance and I scramble up and run upstairs. I get to my room and quickly shut and lock my door. I grab my bag throwing in as many clothes as I can, I grab my suitcase and stuff more clothes into that. I get my backpack dumping all my school supplies out and putting my laptop, it's charging cord, my headphones, and my phone charger. I grab my phone and text the one person who I know will be there for me.

Me: Josh?

Joshy❤️: Yes?

Me: Can I stay at your house?

Joshy❤️: Why??

Me: I'll explain when I get there

I grab my stuff and quickly run down the stairs with tears streaming down my cheeks with the one my mother slapped stinging.

I run to Josh's house and knock on the door. Mrs. Dun opens it and sees my tear stained face and bright red check. "Tyler?? What happened dear??" She asks frantically, opening the door wider letting me walk through. "I-i... is Josh home?" I ask still trying to catch my breath. She quickly calls for Josh and seconds later he comes running into the room. We lock eyes and he just pulls me into a hug. "Shhh, it's alright. Everything's okay," he whispers to me. I start crying again and I feel him pick me up. He walks somewhere and sits down setting me on his lap. I look up and see we're in his kitchen and his mom's getting an ice pack. Josh takes it from her and gently places it on my cheek causing me to flinch. "I know, it's going to sting, but you have too if you don't want it to bruise. Now why don't you tell me what happened." He says quietly with his mom sitting down across from us. "I-I came out t-to my parents a-and they yelled a-at me and t-then my m-mom slapped me... t-they kicked m-me out J-Josh," I manage to get out through my sobs. Both Josh and his mom look shocked. Mrs. Dun stands up and leaves the room, seconds later I hear her yelling at someone, presumably my parents. Josh pulls me closer to him. "I'm so sorry," he whispers. "It's not your fault some people are assholes who would kick their own kid out just because of who they love," I answer back. We just stare at each other for a second before he closes the gap between us, pushing his lips on to mine. We hear someone 'aww' behind us causing us to separate, we look and see Mrs. Dun standing in the door way smiling at us. "Tyler you're welcome to stay with us for as long as you need," she said her smile growing bigger. "Thank you," I say giving a small smile.

       Josh picked me up and walked upstairs into his room where he put me down and laid next to me. I immediately cuddle back against him. "Thank you," I whisper. "For what?" He asks. "For being there for me," I say quietly feeling sleep over come me. Right before I fall into a deep slumber I hear, "I love you Ty." I smile as I let darkness consume me.
