Chapter Four: Not A Date

While Gavin had thought all the other dumb asses stupid enough to ask Tasha on a date had left, his heart sank as he saw one of the younger guys standing in front of Tasha by the car.

"C'mon, Price. You'd rather hang out with a guy fifteen years older than you? I can give you a real good time—" Gavin saw the guy put his hand on Tasha's hip.

"Get your hands off me!"

"Come on, sweetheart, you know you want it—"

Gavin felt anger swell in his chest as he stomped over to them. He saw Tasha was trying to push the guy off of her, and she looked pissed.

"I can give you a good time—" Before the guy could say another word Gavin had pulled him off of Tasha, shoving him hard against the wall.

Tasha watched in amusement as Gavin held the guy up. The boy looked terrified as Gavin glared at him. "Come near her again, I'll rip your balls off, got it?!"

The boy nodded vigorously before Gavin let him go, shoving him to the ground. He turned to look at Tasha, who was walking over to him. "Are you okay? Did he—"

Tasha walked past him, towards the boy who had just gotten to his feet. She grabbed onto his collar, pulling him back towards her. She punched him hard in the face, making the boy stumble back, blood dripping down his face.

Gavin raised his eyebrows, smiling slightly. That's impressive. The boy ran away, and as soon as he left Tasha turned to Gavin.

"And that is why I don't date anyone my age." Tasha sighed.

He noticed she was holding her hand, and he sighed. "Did you break your hand?"

"No, I don't think so anyways. It hurts like a bitch, though."

Gavin grabbed onto her wrist, gently holding onto her hand as he examined it. "You probably just sprained it. I should've beat his ass."

Tasha smiled slightly, "Awe, were you worried about me, Gavin?"

Gavin didn't say anything for a moment, grabbing the first aid kid from his trunk. He wrapped her hand in cloth to help her keep it from getting worse.

"I had it covered, you know."

Gavin scoffed. "It didn't really seem that way, princess."

"Thank you..." Tasha said softly as she watched him wrap her hand. For someone so tough, he could be very gentle.

Gavin glanced at her, smiling slightly. "You're welcome."

"Of course I'd sprain my dominant hand."

Tasha was staring at her plate of food in frustration as she tried to grab a fork with her sprained hand, but immediately dropped it when the pain became too much. Gavin sat across from her, watching in mild amusement as his partner continued to try and use her sprained hand.

"You can try using that hand all you want, it's not going to work, sweetheart."

Tasha sighed, using her left hand to pick up the fork. "Never in my life have I wanted to be ambidextrous so bad as right now."

"I think it's cute." Gavin mused as he took a bite of his food.

"It's embarrassing!" Tasha twirled the fork around, grabbing a small amount of pasta before bringing the fork to her lips. "It feels fucking weird." Tasha swallowed her food, scowling at her plate. "I swear to god if I see that stupid kid tomorrow I'll—"

"You'll what? Sprain your other hand?"

Tasha glared at Gavin, but he simply smiled smugly at her. She couldn't help but let a small smile come to her face as she shook her head, slowly eating her food. "Fine, you can fuck his day up if he comes around us tomorrow."

"Gladly." Gavin agreed, reaching his fork over to steal some of her food.

"Rude." Tasha stuck her tongue out at him, her left hand shaking slightly as she stole some of his food. "Thank you for today, though. I can't remember the last time I ate out."

"Anything for my partner." Gavin replied, a smirk on his face.

"Do you ever stop being a sarcastic bastard?"

"I guess you'll have to find out."

After they finished dinner, Gavin refused to tell Tasha the surprise he had in store for her. He didn't want her to know that he had been planning this for a while, and while he knew most people didn't go to such great lengths for their work partners, Gavin knew she wasn't just his partner.

"C'mon! You have to tell me!" Tasha pouted, grabbing onto his arm drove down the road.

Gavin smiled slightly, "Watch where you put your hands, Price."

"I mean, if it'll get You to tell me what you have planned, maybe I'll put my hands wherever I want."

Gavin felt heat rise in his cheeks as he thought about her offer. "Don't tempt me, Price."

Tasha sighed, slowly letting his arm go. She felt excitement rush through her body as Gavin pulled into a parking lot. "Ooh! Are we here?!"

"You sound like a kid on Christmas Day." Gavin chuckled, getting out of the car.

He walked over to her door, opening it for her. "You coming?"

Tasha nodded, waiting impatiently for him as he locked his car. After he shoved his keys in his pocket, he wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her close to him. Since he was five foot nine, and Tasha was only five foot three, her head rested perfectly against his chest as they walked towards the building.

Gavin reached his free hand into his pocket, pulling out his phone. He opened it, handing it to her. Tasha nearly screamed when she saw the tickets.

"Gavin! How did you know?! How did you get tickets?!" Tasha stared at his phone with shaky hands.

Gavin chuckled, unable to stop smiling when seeing her reaction. "I know a guy who owed me a favour. I remembered how bad you wanted to go."

"I could fucking kiss you!" Tasha squealed, wrapping her arms around his waist, pulling him into a tight hug. Gavin was taken aback by her comment for a moment, secretly wishing she would kiss him. Shaking the thought away he rested his hands on the crook of her back. Whenever he hugged her, he couldn't help but hold her a little closer, the feeling of her body against his sending a warm feeling through his entire body.

Gavin couldn't help but watch Tasha's reactions during the movie. Every gasp, laugh, cry and clap he witnessed only made him that much happier he was the reason for her happiness. Probably about half way through the movie, Gavin found himself with his arm around Tasha's waist, while she began leaning against him. He could feel her breath against his neck, his grip on her waist getting a little tighter.

Tasha jumped when a scary scene happened, her free hand grasping his tightly. Gavin smiled slightly, slowly interlocking his fingers with hers. She nuzzled against his neck, his body warmth drawing her in. He moved so she could rest her leg over his, and her body was completely against his. The theatre was dark, and they were practically alone.

Gavin clenched his jaw when he felt Tasha's lips against his neck. They slowly moved, gently peppering kisses across his skin. Gavin gripped her waist hard, and he could feel the soft breath that left her lips when he did. She let go of his hand, instead resting it against his chest. Gavin took the opportunity to rest his hand on her leg, slowly rubbing circles against her leg with his thumb.

You need to stop.

Gavin sighed, halting his movements. Tasha did the same, and he could feel her body stiffen slightly. When the movie was over, they were silent as he drove her home.

"Do you want to come in?"

Gavin knew his answer should have been no. He shouldn't be going into his partners house in the middle of the night. While he had been in her house numerous times, this felt different. This was different. They had nearly kissed and he wasn't sure if he could stop himself from escalating it further.

"Sure."
