*******RECAP***********Shuffling out of the room I sensed one common thing from everyone, determination. The will to survive and to get our memories back was now stronger than ever, we will win and will get back what has been taken.*******************

The sun was started it to dip behind the mountains. All that could be heard this afternoon, in that wide field, was the sound of grass rustling. As we lay waiting for nightfall and the beacon that came with it, we listened to symphony birds sing. I named them the symphony birds because they sang literal songs. Tonight only the cellos, violins, and flutes could be heard. 

Do you think we'll make it? Kelly sent. I think that if we stick together, fight like hell, and believe in one another we have a chance. I thought. I need you to stay alive Dev. I won't make it if you aren't with me! So I need to promise me that you'll stay alive... Promise me!! I promise no matter what happens I'm with you Sis. Her mind then retreated from mine and we waited. I laid back in the grass and watched the first stars appear.

There was a slight shift in the air and in the distance a beam of light shot up into the sky displacing clouds. "Ok everyone lets get on our way. Kelly keep your mind open I need you to warn us if there something dangerous is coming, Kevin keep your guard up just in case, Jacob I want you to fly and scout ahead, but stay small enough so that nothing can see you. Everyone else be ready for anything. Everyone ready to head out?"

 "No. I have a question. Does anyone have a problem with Dev leading?"Kevin asked. I was surprised that Kevin would be the one to raise this question, I thought surely that Kendall or Will would and judging by the looks on everyone's faces they all agreed. Seeing the bewildered expression on everyone's faces he decided to elaborate. 

With a long sigh " Okay it's not that I have a problem with Devin leading but, we need to get this out of the way now. We are about to fight for our lives and we need to stick together. We can't afford to argue about this later or it might cost us. So I ask again does anyone have a problem with Devin leading?" He explained. There was a chorus of Nos all around. "Okay now that's settled I'm going to head off." Jason shouted as he took a running start and leapt into the air, he shrunk till he was about half a foot tall and flew off.

The rest of us started to trudge toward the light and into the tree line. Usually walking into some dark and unknown forest would make me nervous but, Will's light was making things better; it was sure easier to not trip and fall on my face. "I wonder what kind of dangers Lady E. was talking about." I thought aloud. 

"I hope no more of those was wasps, their minds are freaky." Kelly shuddered. "I don't even think that's what E was talking about. The night that those wasps attacked us we were in the green zone, the safe zone. I think that the opposing team sent that swam to attack us, I don't have any concrete proof so obviously this is just a hypothesis . Most likely they'll send out the failures. These people are into genetic modification and I guess on not just humans. There are probably animal subjects that we'll encounter along the way and will most likely become more violent and dangerous the closer in we get." Kevin mused.

"That actually does make sense. It's a common war tactic to send weaker troops to scout out your enemy. If they manage to kill them then good but if they don't then you get a good look at your enemies skills. If you don't have enough information then send more troops, gather more information. I bet that the other mind that Kelly sensed was being fed information through the mental link." Tara pointed out. 

"Guys we have a problem, Jacob is in trouble, I can't get any clear thoughts they're too fast and scattered. He somewhere-" CRASHHHHHH!!! CRUUUUUNCH!!!!!! A plume of dirt and debris flew up into the air a little ways ahead of us. I heard a screech of metal and see Kendal sprinting ahead of the group. A dull thump sounded behind me and I could make out a blonde figure flying overhead and disappearing over the trees.

The rest of us had reached the clearing by the time that the dust had settled and what we found was most unsettling. It looks like someone had mashed a panda, hippo, and a tree; most of it was submerged but you could see its torso was similar to a hippos and the rest of its upper body was that of a panda and The trunk of a tree could be seen protruding from its back. But, it's face was the really strange part, it was brown with splotches of green like the rest of its body and its jaw was jutted out like a hippos. 

That's where the similarities ended because when it opens jaws it was a pit of razor sharp teeth. It, I wonder if it even had a gender, was in the center of a pond. The tree part of resembled a willow tree but it's leaves were replaced with metallic barbs and it was mostly submerged in the water, but that didn't stop it from wrapping its limbs around Jacob and Kendal flailing them around. Tara skirted around the far edge of the pond throwing kinetic blasts at the trunk to no avail. Will started to shoot scorching hot beams of light into the thing's trunk only managing to make it angrier. 

It spiraled branches together into a thicker limb swatted Will throwing him straight up into the air. I instinctively reached out my hand then felt tingle spread from the back of my eyes through my whole body. Then Will stopped midair. I bet that Will's own shocked expression mirrored my own before the same bundle of branches hit me smack dab in the chest.
