1) PROTECTION AGAINST ALL EVILS
Abdullah bin Khubaib narrates that one dark, gloomy, rainy night, we came out in search of Rasulullah (SAW)- When we finally found him he said to us: "Read!"

We asked: "What must we read?" He replied: "Recite Surah al Ikhlas - Surah al Falaq - Surah an Nas - 3 times in the morning and evening.

It will suffice for you against all evil things (witchcraft, blackmagic, mischief of jin, etc.)." Mishkat, P.8

2) ELIMINATION OF GRIEF IN BOTH WORLDS

Abu Darda (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) mentioned:

"Whosoever recites 7 times morning and evening the following Du 'a, Allah will suffice for him by removing his grief of this world and the Hereafter:

HASBIYAL-LAHU LA ILAHA ILLA HUW. ALAYHI TAWAKKALTU, WA HUWA RABBUL ' ARSHIL AZIM.

Allah suffices me. There is none worthy of worship but He alone. In Him is my trust, He is the Lord of the Supreme Throne."

3) ANGELS SEEK FORGIVENESS ON ONE'S BEHALF:

Ma'qal bin Yasar ra narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) said: "Whoever recites 3 times in the morning:

A UDHU BILLAHIS-SAMI'IL ALIMI MINASH-SHAYTANIR-RAJIM.

I seek refuge in Allah the all-hearing, the all-knowing, from Shaytan (Satan) the accursed.

And thereafter the last 3 ayat of Surah al Hashr once, 70,000 Angels are appointed by Allah, who seek forgiveness on behalf of that person till the evening. Should he die during the day, he will die as a Shahid (martyr).

Whosoever recites the above du'a in the evening will enjoy the same virtue till the morning." Mishkat.P88 hereafter. Ruhul Ma' am, P53

BISMILLAHIR-RAHMANIR-RAHIM HUWAL-LAHUL-LADHl LA ILAHA ILLA HU. ' ALIMUL-GHAYBI WASH-SHAHADAH HUWAR-RAHMANUR-RAHIM. HUWAL-LAHUL- LADHI LA ILAHA ILLA HU. AL MALIKUL QUDDUSUS-SALAMUL MU'MINUL MUHAYMINUL AZlZUL JABBARUL MUTAKABBIR. SUBHANAL-LAHI AMMA YUSHRIKUN. HUWAL-LAHUL KHALIQUL BARI'UL MUSAWWIRU LAHUL ASMA'UL HUSNA. YUSABBIHU LAHU MA FIS-SAMAWATI WAL-ARD. WA HUWAL 'AZIZUL-HAKIM.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. He is Allah, who there is none worthy of worship besides him. The knower of the unseen and of what can be witnessed. He is the most Beneficent, the all-merciful. He is Allah, whom there is none worthy of worship besides. The Sovereign, the Exalted, the Giver of peace, the Giver of security, the Protector, the Mighty, the Over-powering, the Justly-Proud. Glorified is Allah above what is associated with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper, for Allah are the Beautiful Names" Glorifying Him, are all what are in the heavens and earth. And He is the Mighty, the Wise.

4) PROTECTION AGAINST LEPROSY, BLINDNESS, INSANITY& PARALYSIS:

Recite 3 times morning and evening:
SUBHANAL-LAHIL AZIMI WABI HAMDIHl WA LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH.

Glorified be Allah, the Magnificent, and all praise is His. And there is no power, no might besides that of Allah.

5) PROTECTION OF ONE'S DEEN, LIFE, FAMILY AND WEALTH:

Ma'qal bin Yasar (RA) narrates: Once I expressed my fears to Rasulullah (SAW) over 5 things in my life. My first fear was that I would be misled or deviate from the Siratul-Mustaqim. The second was regarding my life. I feared harm or illness would befall me. The third was about my children, that they would suffer deem or worldly harm. My fourth concern was my wife, that she too may suffer physical or spiritual harm. The fifth fear I had was over my wealth, should there occur a loss of income or property.

After listening to my fears, Rasulullah (SAW) taught me the following data:
(To be recited 3 times morning and evening)

BISMILLAHI ALA DIM WA NAFSl WA WALADl WA 'AHLI WA MALI.

"May the blessings of Allah be on my faith, life, children, family and wealth." Kanzul-Ummal, Vol. 2, P 636

6) PROTECTION AGAINST ALL HARM: Aban bin Uthman ra, narrates that he heard his father saying that Rasulullah (SAW)mentioned: "Whosoever recites the following du'a 3 times in the morning and evening, will not be harmed by anything." Mishkat P 209

BISMILLAHIL LADHl LA YADURRU MA ASMIHl SHAY'UN FIL ARDI WA LA FIS-SAMA'. WA HUWAS SAMFUL ALlM.

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the heavens or earth can cause harm. And He is the all-Seeing, all-Knowing.

Allah will grant security to the person who recites the following du'a three times in the morning and evening.

It is very effective for protection against harmful insects and creatures.

A'UDHU BI KALIMATIL-LAHIT- TAMMATI MIN SHARRI MA KHALAQ.

I seek protection in the excellent words of Allah from the injuries caused by His creation.

7) PROTECTION AGAINST A PARTICULAR PERSON OR GROUP

a) When fearing a person or when one is terrified of a person one should recite:
ALLAHUM-MAKFINAHU BIMA SHI'TA
O Allah, grant us safety against him, as and how You please.

b) When terrified of a particular group recite: ALLAHUMMA 'INNI AJ ALUKA Fl NUHURIHIM WAA'UDHU BIKA MIN SHURURIHIM.

0 Allah, I seek Your protection against their mischief and through You do we defend ourselves against them.

8) ADMISSION INTO JANNAH:
According to a hadith whosoever recites the following du'a thrice in the morning and evening. It is upon Allah H to please him on the Day of Qiyamah , and admission into Jannah isa certainty for him:

RADITU BILLAHI RABBAW-WA BIL ISLAMI DINAW WA BI MUHAMMADIN SALLAL-LAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAMA NABBIYA

I am content in believing in Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion and Muhammad (SAW) as the messenger. Best recited with with rasoola (and prophet). Best read with wa Rasoola (and prophet)

9) PROTECTION FROM THE FIRE OF HELL

The following du'a should be recited 7 times after Maghrib and Fajr salaah, whilst seated in (Qa' dah) sitting posture:

SUBHANALAHI WA BIHAMDIHI AD ADA KHALQIHl WA RIDA NAFSIHI WAZINATA ARSHIHI WA MID ADA KALIMATIH.

Glorified is Allah together with His praises in numbers equivalent to His creatures, in a manner befitting His pleasure, in weight equal to His Throne and in quantities equal to the ink of His words.

ALLAHUMMA AJIRNEE MINAN NAR
O Allah save me from the Fire of Hell.

Allah will save the person who recites thisthree times morning and evening from the fire of Hell.

10) PROTECTION AGAINST WITCHCRAFT

By reciting the following ayaat 3 times in the morning and in the evening, one will be protected from witchcraft. If one is already suffering from witchcraft then it will be removed.

US FALAMMA ALQAW QALA MUSA MA JI'TUM BIHIS-SIHR. INNAL-LAHA SAYUBTILUH. INNAL-LAHA LA YUSLIHU ' AMALAL MUFSIDIN. WA YUHIQQUL-LAHUL HAQQA BIKALIMATIHI. WA LAW KARIHAL MUJRIMUN.

When they (the sorcerers) threw down (their staffs/ropes) Musa exclaimed: "What you have brought is witch-craft. Indeed Allah will now nullify it. Allah does not endorse the acts of the dissenters. Allah will make, manifest the Truth through his signs, Even if the transgressors detest.

11) PROTECTION AGAINST ILL FATE AND SEVERE CALAMITIES: Rasulullah (SAW) mentioned

'O People! Seek Allah's protection against severe calamities, trials and tribulations, misfortunes, wretchedness, ill fate and the taunts and malice of the enemies." Mirqat Vol. 5 P 222

ALLAHUMMA INNI AUDHUBIKA MIN JAHDIL BALA'I WA DARKISH-SHAQA'I WASU'IL QADA'I WA SHAMATATIL-ADA'.

O Allah refuge in you from the difficulties of hardships. And the acquisition of wretchedness, and ill-fate, and the taunts of enemies.

12) GAINING ALLAH'S fi GUIDANCE AND PROTECTION AGAINST THE EVILS OF THE HEART:

Imran Bin Hussain ra narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) taught his father Hussain ra the following two du'as, which he used to read continuously:

ALLAHUMMA 'ALHIMNI RUSHDI. WA 'A'IDHNI MIN SHARRI NAFSl.

"O Allah, inspire me with guidance (to make the correct and best decisions in times of dilemma) and protect me from the mischief of my soul.' Tirmidhi.

13) SAYYIDUL-ISTIGHFAR
Shaddad bin Aus ra narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) states that Sayyidul- Istighfar (the most loftiest of all types of repentance), is that a servant says the following once,

ALLAHUMMA ANTA RABBl. LA ILAHA ILLA ANTA KHALAQTANI WAANA ABDUKAWA ANA ALA AHDIKA WA WA" DIKA MAS-TATA" TU. A" UDHU BIKA MIN SHARRI MA SANA'TU. ABU'U LAKA BI NL MATIKA "ALAYYA WAABU'U BI DHAMBl FAGHFIRLl FATNNAHU LA YAGHFIRUDH-DHUNUBA ILLA ANTA.

O Allah! You are my Lord. There is no God besides You, You created me, I am Your slave and with all my strength, I remain steadfast to Your promise and I beseech You to forgive me any evil I may perform. I humbly affirm what You bestow upon me and I plead guilty to my sins. Forgive me. For besides You, there is none to forgive me."

Whosoever in the morning and passes away before the evening his abode shall be in Jannah (Paradise).

Similarly, one who reads it in the evening and passes away before the morning. (Tirmidhi)

14) SAFETY FROM ASH-SHIRKUL KHAFI (Performing ibadah for show and ostentation):

The following was taught to Abu Bakr ra by Rasulullah (SAW) as a protection against becoming a victim of minor shirk. It should be recited 3 times. Kanzul-Ummal, Vol. 2 P876 Page 95

ALLAHUMMA INNI A UDHU BIKA MIN AN USHRIKA BIKA SHAY' AW WA ANA A' LAM. WA ASTAGHFIRUKA LIMA LA A' LAM.

O Allah I seek refuge in You, from associating partners with You, knowingly. And I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do unknowingly.

15) THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE DUA: The following du'a is so comprehensive, that it includes in it all the du'a of Rasulullah (SAW) over 23 years. It should be recited once. Jawahirul-Bukhari P 572.

Abu Umamah ra narrates that Nabi (SAW) made a large number of du'a during his lifetime. However, a few of us could barely remember any.

We asked: "O Rasulullah! You have made so many different du'a, but we are unable to even remember a few."

Rasulullah(SAW) replied:
"Should I not show you such a comprehensive du'a which includes all types of du'a? Read the following: "

ALLAHUMMA INNl AS'ALUKA MIN KHAYRI MA SA'ALAKA MINHU NABIYYUKA MUHAMMADUN SALLAL-LAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM. WA A' UDHUBIKA MIN SHARRI MASTA ADHA MINHU NABIYYUKA MUHAMMADUN SALLAL-LAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM. WA ANTAL MUSTA AN WA ALAYKAL BALAGH. WA LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILL A BILL AH.

O Allah, I ask of you all the good that asked of You by Your messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be showered upon him. And I seek Your refuge from all the evil that was taken refuge from, by Your messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be showered upon him. You alone are the helper, and all goals are in You And there is no power nor might, but that of Allah.

16)DUA FOR SLEEPING:

a)ALLAHUMMA BISMIKA AMUTU WA AHYA.

O Allah! With Your name, I die and live.

b)Astagh-firullaahal-ladhi La Ilaha Illa Huwal-hayyul
Qayyuumu Wa 'Atubu Ilaih.

I seek forgiveness from Allah besides Whom there is none worthy of worship, the Living, the Sustainer (of life), and to Him I repent.

(Kanzul 'Ummal-SYL-Vol. 1:Pg. 387-388)

Nabi (SAW) said to read the above 'Istighfar' three times then Allah SWT will forgive the reciters sins even if they are equal to:-

a) The foam in the oceans;

b) Leaves on (all the) trees (of the world);

c) Equivalent to the number of days in the world.

(Kanzul 'Ummal - S.K. - Vol. 1 : Pg. 387-388)

17)DU'A FOR AWAKENING:

ALHAMDU LILLAHIL-LADHl AHYANA BA DA MA AMATANA WA ILAYHIN NUSHUR.

All praise is due to Allah who gave us life after giving us (figurative) death (in sleep) and the final return place is to Him.

18) DU'A WHEN EATING:

a) BISMILLAHI WA ALA BARAKATIL-LAH :
With Allah's name and upon the blessings granted by Allah (do we eat)

19) AFTER FINISHING THE MEAL:

a) ALHAMDULIL-LAHIL-LADHl AT'AM AN A WA SAQANA WA JA'ALANA MINAL MUSLIMIN

All praise is due to Allah who gave us food and drink and who made us Muslims.

Alhamdu Lillahil-ladhi At'amnim Hadhat-ta'aama Wa
Razaqaneehi Min Ghairi Hawlim Minnii Wa La Quwwah.

All praise is due to Allah who fed me this food and made it sufficient for me without any effort and striving from my side. (S.K.-Vol. 1 : Pg. 232)

C: If the above Du'a is read after eating, then, if Allah wills, the reciters minor sins will be forgiven.

20) LEAVING OR ENTERING HOUSE ):

ALLAHUMMA INNl AS'ALUKA KHAYRAL MAWLAJI WA KHAYRAL MAKHRAJI. BISMILLAHI WALAJNA. WA BISMILLAHI KHARAJNA. WA ALAL-LAHI RABBINA TAWAKKALNA.

O Allah! I beg of You good (safe) entry, and good (safe) exit. With Allah's name do we enter, and with Allah's name do we leave, and upon Allah, our Lord, do we rely.

WHEN LEAVING THE HOUSE:

Bismillahi Tawakkaltu 'Alallahi Wa La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illa Billah.

"In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah, there is no power and might except from Allah."

It is recorded in a Hadith of Tirmidhi that whosoever reads this Du'a after leaving the house then an unseen caller proclaims for his benefit:

Your needs shall be fulfilled, you shall be saved from difficulties and hardships. Shaitan hearing these words leaves him i.e. stops misleading him and causing him harm. (Tirmidhi)

The recitation of the following Du'a is also recorded as Sunnat; 70,000 angels make Du'a for its reciter:

Allahumma Inni As'aluka Bihaqqis-Saa'ileena 'Alaika Wa bihaqqi Mamshaya Haadha Fa inni Lam Akhruj Asharaww walaa Bataraww walaa Riyaa'aww walaa Sum'ataww wa Kharajtu Ittiqaa'a Sakhatika Wabtighaa'a Mardatika WaAs'alukaAn Tu'idhani Minan-Naari WaAn Fagh-firali Dhunubi Fainnahu La Yagh-firudh-dhunuba Illaa Anta.

"O Allah! I beg You by means of the rights of beggars which are upon You, and by means of the rights of this my walking, I proclaim I have not set out with any intention of pride or vanity or grandeur or ostentation but for the fear of Your anger and to seek Your pleasure and I ask You to shelter me from the Fire (of Hell) and to forgive my sins, for there is surely none besides You who pardons sins. " (Ibn Majah)
