Chapter 25

Okay my lovely fans, readers and possibly magical creatures. This is where the book comes to an end yet, at the same time, a new beginning ;) I hope you enjoy and book two will be posted really soon. Thank you all for reading! Now onto the last chapter...

I had so many questions in my mind, but I had something way more important to ask someone. Well tell someone really, seeing as how I wasn't about to go straight to the king and couldn't find him I needed the next person possible. The next person I could find.

Damascus.

I had caught up to him- well really ran into him- in the training field.

It wasn't my fault that I wasn't looking where I was going and it definitely wasn't my fault that the guards had thought I was sneaking around in rooms I shouldn't have been in.

I slammed into him, my body tumbling over his and landing next to him in a tangle of limbs. The guards were on me in a second trying to yank me off the ground but I just stayed put. Oh, yes. The big guard couldn't pull me up but the prince didn't mind because he was more focused on seething with rage.

I was excited. Nothing could stop that. I was too happy to even process standing up and having the prince pull me away. He yanked and yanked and I just kept that stupid smile on my face. To others I must have looked like a love sick puppy or maybe a raving lunatic. When he pulled me inside, he stopped in front of a library. Pushing open the door he dragged me after and I knew he was three seconds away from screaming himself raw when he looked at my smile.

"I have something to tell you!" I was jumping for joy, well nearly jumping I was more bouncing than anything.

"You have something to tell me?! Are you stupid hu-"

I stopped his rant short, slapping my hand on his mouth. Which in turn caused him to grow an even darker shade of red if that was even possible. But he would live.

"I can make sure I never have powers!"

The color drained from his face as he stared at me and when I was sure he wouldn't scream, I lowered my hand. I waited for him to reply.

And waited.

And waited.

And I was sure he wasn't breathing at this point because he hadn't made a sound.

"Why were you running form the guards? What do you mean you can make sure you never have powers? It's ingrained in your DNA. Are you stupid or-"

I put my hand back to shush him. I could feel every emotion in my body coursing through me, the happiness the confusion the anger and so many things I didn't have names for.

"Ok, so... umm..." I think I was just doing this to torture him at this point, "So, this morning I woke up feeling like I had eaten nearly a bucket of sugar, which is great because this is the best I've felt in ages. But anyways, I went to the library and went to the section marked 'Do Not Enter' on accident."

He rolled his eyes, I knew he didn't believe me but I really did wander in there on accident. Well into the library that is. I lowered my hand and he waited for me to continue.

"I was looking around and I found a book, like the only one not in Elfin and I decided to read and as I was reading I found it was a spell book and all that but one of the spells is how to stop magical creatures from gaining their powers and that would be perfect! I could go home and-"

"You were in the section that said do not enter?! You must really be stupid or have a death wish to be doing all these things. You interrupted my practice! Do you even know what the penalty is for any other person who does things like that? Not a pretty sight for people like you."

I was in shock. Did he not hear me? I could go home. I would be free and I didn't even have to look far for this!

"So you can get rid of your powers?"

I turned to the new voice, the queen, who was sitting in the chair on the far side of the room. I could smell her perfume from over here, she must have been wearing quite a bit.

"Yes! I'm glad someone was listening to me." I glared at the prince and looked back to the queen sweetly.

"Take me to the book."

She stood and I nodded eagerly, the prince followed behind, curiosity evident on his face.

I still couldn't help the smile on my face. Three minutes later we stood in the main library, in the section marked 'Do Not Enter'.

I pulled the book down, turning to the page I had folded, knowing full well that the prince was glaring at just that. Or maybe it was just me. Probably both.

She took the book and read, following the words carefully and after ten minutes I wondered if she read slowly or just needed to read the few sentences a hundred times.

She nodded and smiled at me and I felt my mothers warmth in that.

"This will work. We just have to do this before you get any hint of your powers, and the Inibrius won't be able to use you. So, tonight we can do it. We'll need a few ingredients and I'll send someone out to fetch them an-"

She stopped mid sentence and looked at me. I furrowed my brows at her. She looked funny...

"Help me get her to the infirmary!"

I laughed. Why would I need to go anywhere.

I could feel the walls close in and then nothing.

~~~~~
In and out of consciousness I drifted. Between The land of rumbling voices and the realm of peaceful sleep.
I was barley awake for seconds at a time but I felt unbearably hot. My skin was melting and I was sure that my blood had boiled out. I couldn't scream something was stopping me.
Voices came into the room, softening as they got closer but I could hear everything way to clearly.
"What is wrong? Is it a human illness? Is it a plague? Will she be alright?"
"No, nothing so mundane."
I had to be sick, I was sure I was dying right now. My brain slammed against my skull and my eyelids wouldn't open.
"Apparently this has been going on for sometime, you should have noticed the changes. She's gaining her full powers, unfortunately all at once."
