Third Person POV:

Kuribayashi puts down her binos after scanning the area, with no sign of Itami or Minh.

Kuribayashi: The Captain and the Lieutenant might be dead already.

Kurata: Don't jinx them.

Ghost Lead: We can't give up hope. For all we know, the both of them are still in the city.

Kuribyashi: But they got so roughed up on the way back to Italica. Especially the Lieutenant.

Tomita: Anyway, we'll just wait for sunset.

Kurata: Captain...

Back in Italica, Special Region (KVĐB)

Minh's POV

From where I was sitting when I first opened my eyes, I saw that my wound got larger and I was coughing up blood. They also took all our gear off, although I managed to hide my glasses in my pocket before that happened. Hamilton was watching the both of us in concern.

Me (thinking): Damn, that was a rough ride...thanks...

I look right next to me that Itami was semi-conscious. He looked like he went through hell as well. Bruises and slap marks were everywhere on his face. I sigh before I cough up some of the metallic tasting blood again. Meanwhile Pina is scolding/yelling at her subordinates who I would later learn to be Bozes, the one with blonde hair, and Panache, the one with white hair.

Pina: What the hell do you think doing! (throws a goblet at Bozes)

Bozes hair starts bleeding and Panache starts to tend her.

Pina: You idiots!

Panache: Princess, what have we done wrong?

Pina: Can't you tell?

Hamilton: Captain Itami? Lieutenant Lê? Are you both okay?

Me: I've been through worse than this. Itami though, is in more pain though, take care of him first.

Hamilton starts shaking Itami to see if he was alright, with him collapsing due the pain that he suffered. 4 maids enter to escort Itami away.

*insert opening theme (A/N: Trying to go the anime way, so it might be sporadic, but...I can't blame the guys who made it right?)

Pina: We violated the treaty the day it was signed...

A superior officer of hers, Grey, started to speak.

Grey: And they can use this as an excuse to start a war. A standard tactic for the Empire, and one they may choose to imitate.

Me (thinking): If you went to far then yes. Though I'm not sure if Japan would be the only one who would be mad. Expect the Đặc Công (Vietnamese Special Forces) to be here if that happened.

Pina: And if that happens, we're doomed.

Grey: But thankfully, there were no casualties. Why don't we just apologize?

Pina puts her hands on her face.

Pina (sighs): You're telling me to bow my head to them?

Grey: Would you prefer to fight them? Speaking of which, why is he still here? (points at me)

Me: Good question, and could use a bit of help here maybe?

Grey then unties me and Pina helps me up and I sit on the chair next to her.

Pina: So uh..I saw what you and the mysterious men did.

Me: Oh that, yeah that's pretty normal for us. Strike once and disappear again in the shadows.

Pina: Pretty impressive. Anyways I never got your name.

Me: First Lieutenant Lê Văn Minh.

Pina: Your name doesn't sound "Japanese". Are you "Japanese" Lieutenant Lê?

Me: I am not. I'm Vietnamese-American.

Pina: What do you mean?

I sigh, this was going to be a long one.

Me: What it means is that I am from two countries. The United States of America, or the US for short, is the world's most powerful country, or superpower, on the other side of the Gate and is an ally of Japan. We call ourselves Americans. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the other hand, may be weaker economically than Japan, but has beaten every single invader to invade the country. This includes Japan and the US. Again, we call ourselves Vietnamese, and since I am a mixture of both, I call myself a Vietnamese-American since that's what Vietnamese call themselves when they lived in the US for a long time.

I explain to her the Marine Corps and the Vietnamese Army in general. I left out the part about Ghost Recon of course.

Pina: Wait, then if you are part of 2 armies, shouldn't it be a burden on you instead of a benefit?

Me: Well..it depends on how you look at it. If you keep on seeing it as a burden, you won't be able to accomplish anything.

Pina: And how about being a "Marine"? I thought that you were supposed to be at sea with your navy.

Me: That's where you're wrong. We fight on land, in the air, and on sea and are the first responders should a crisis or emergency occur. We take pride in that you know.

Pina: I understand. But I have 1 more question?

Me: Yes?

Pina: Will Japan try to take over the Empire for this incident?

Me: Pina, maam, Japan is not a country with interest in taking over the Empire, let me assure you that.

Pina: How about your countries?

Me: They have the same stance as well.

Pina looks down.

Me: Is it because of the battle? That knight of yours was brave. It's a shame we couldn't save him in time.

Pina: It's alright. I am still inexperienced in commanding.

Me: Makes sense. Happened to me as well.

I start coughing blood again and start to blackout again.

Pina: Lieutenant? LIEUTENANT?

I continue to blackout.

Pina: MAIDS, GET IN HERE NOW!

Back to 3rd Recon and Hunter Team

Third Person POV:

Kuribayashi: What did you just say?!

Kurata: That the Lieutenant and Captain are alright.

Kuribayashi: After that!

Tomita: He may not look like it, but Itami's a ranger.

Kuribayashi: EHHH?!!!!

Ghost Lead: Not to mention Lieutenant Lê with the whole Russian "coup" thing with us.

Kuribayashi slumps to the ground in disbelief.

Kuribayashi: That's impossible! You're kidding me!

Lelei: Would it be a problem if Itami were a "ranger"?

Kuribayashi: it's just not who he is at all! They undergo hellish training! They have bodies and minds made of steel! They can carry out even the toughest missions! That's what a ranger is! Not Itami!

Pepper: Don't be in disbelief. We've seen guys like this in the 75th Rangers as well. They appear to be slackers, but are actually really tough.

Kozak: Those kinds of guys?

Pepper: Yeah. The ones we would make fun of back when we were Rangers?

Kozak: Yeah. Those guys..(he chuckles)

Kuribayashi: But you guys are more believable if you were US Army Rangers. Itami on the other hand, impossible!

30K sighs and laughs.

30K: Kuribayashi, your superior may be an otaku, but he made it into the Japanese Rangers, so he is tough.

Rory and Tuka just chuckle.

Rory: Itami and Lê are mighty warriors then?

Ghost Lead: It would appear so. Can't say so for Itami, but for Lê, yes.

Kuwabara: Now then, let's go.

Hunter Team and 3rd Recon begin to close in on Italica, again.

A few moments later

Militiaman #1: Damn those arrogant Imperial knights! I'm sick of them!

Militiaman #2: Quiet. The Imperials up above will hear you.

Militiaman #1: I don't care.

The militiamen sees Rory, Tuka, and Lelei.

Militiaman #2: It's the Priestess and her friends.

Tuka moves up onto a castle wall and casts a spell.

Tuka: Spirits of Sleep, sing a lullaby and beckon these raging souls to the abyss of slumber.

She then casts the spell over the castle walls, sending the defenders to sleep. She then waves a torch signaling the rest of 3rd Recon and Hunter Team to move.

Kuwabara: Let's go.

Ghost Lead: Ghosts, engage cloak once we reach the gate, we don't want anyone to spot us.

Hunter Team: Roger.

3rd Recon and Hunter Team, in cloak, move in on the mansion in the center of the city.

Inside the mansion, Italica, Special Region (KVĐB)

Minh's POV:

I wake up and I see that I am bandaged up. I look to my right to see that Itami was still fast asleep. Guess everything has made him exhaustive. I look around my surroundings to see that maids have attended to us when we both passed out.

Human maid (Mohmu): Are you awake masters.

Me: Well I am, though I'm sure about Itami here.

Itami starts waking up.

Itami: Hey Lê.

Me: Sup.

Itami: You alright? You looked like you went through hell back there when your wound started opening up again and you were coughing blood as well.

Me: Yeah...I guess i'm fine. How about you?

Itami: I'm fine as well I guess. Though where are we?

Me: I was about to ask the same question.

Human maid (Hoymu): Countess Formar's mansion!

Me: So we're back in Italica...

Itami: Yep... (he sighs)

One of the maids with cat ears starts pouring water for us.

Itami: Eh? Cat ears?

Cat maid (Persia): Is something wrong?

Itami: Oh, I'm just wondering what's going on.

Me: Still a douche I see. (I chuckle) Then again, if Kurata was here, he would even be more douchey.

Itami chuckles as well as a older maid comes in.

Older human maid (Kaine): Don't worry. Princess Pina has ordered us to ensure that you are treated with the greatest of care. And the knights who treated both of you so poorly have been harshly punished. We are so grateful to you for saving this town.

All the maids bow to us.

Me: Well uh....

Itami: Thanks, I guess?

Me: Just doing our jobs, maam.

Older Human maid (Kaine): The saviors of Italica should never have been subject to such appalling treatment. If you wish to destroy the city in retaliation, we are prepared to help you. But please, we beg you not to harm Countess Myui.

Me: Woah, that's a bit too far for us to retaliate against this city. We won't, I rest assure all of you.

Itami: Yeah we don't do that. It's usually against our policy to do that.

Older Human maid (Kaine): We are ever so grateful for your compassionate words.

Me: No problem! (I smile)

The maids help Itami drink some water while I ask one of the maids for my glass and drink the water from it. The older maid continues.

Older Human maid (Kaine): Until you both recover, these four will take care of you.

All the maids bow at us again.

All maids: Masters, we're pleased to meet you.

Older Human maid (Kaine): Ask them anything you need.

Back to Hunter Team and 3rd Recon.

Third Person POV:

Kuribayashi reached the mansion walls first, signaling the rest of 3rd Recon to breach in while Hunter Team was in cloak providing their 6 and coming in behind them.

Ghost Lead: Ghosts, get ready to uncloak.

Hunter Team: Yes sir.

Back to Minh and Itami

Minh's POV:

Kaine: What's wrong?

Bunny maid (Mamina): Someone is trying to force open the bars on the window.

Kaine: It's likely Master Itami's and Lê's friends. Bring them here. If it's anything else, deal with them the usual way.

Bunny maid (Mamina): Understood.

The bunny maid and cat maid leave.

Itami: Um..who are those two?

Kaine: Mamina (the bunny maid) is a warrior bunny.

Me: No wonder she has bunny ears.

Kaine: Persia (cat maid) is one of the cat people.

Itami: Makes sense.

Kaine: Aurea is a medusa. (the maid with red hair)

Me: Wait, will she turn us to stone?

Kaine: That's not how it works in this world. And Mohmu over here (the human maid) is human. The previous count had a liberal nature and went to great efforts to hire non-human staff. Well, part of it was simply personal taste.

Itami: Sounds like somebody I'd get along with.

Me: And get him obsessed with otaku activities?

Itami: Hey!

I chuckle.

Aurea: Master Itami, you give off a similar scent to the last count!

Mohmu (lightly hits her in the head): No, you can't be rude to one of our masters.

Aurea: Okay.

Me: It's fine. I'm sure Itami wouldn't mind.

Kaine: Medusas drain away people's life energy with their hair. Not turn people into stones like in your mythology. She's been very carefully trained though, but be on your guard.

Me: Wait, how do you know about our mythology?

Kaine: I have my ways.

Itami: Will do...Speaking of which, Lê?

Me: Hm?

Itami: I think Kuribayashi likes you.

Me (confused): Why though?

Itami: Because you protected her from that arrow.

Me: Yeah.

Itami: Do you like her back?

Me: Look, not now. Remember policy?

Itami: This isn't over.

Me: Well now it is. So shut the hell up.

Itami: Fine...

Me: Then again, Kuribayashi will probably flip when she hears you're in the Japanese Special Forces. (I laugh)

Itami: Same for you too...MARSOC Raider and Ghost. (he laughs)

Back with Hunter Team and 3rd Recon:

Third Person POV:

Hunter Team and 3rd Recon reach the door. The maids here this and the 17 people storm in while Itami is being fed by Mohmu and Aurea.

Mohmu (feeding him): Here master.

Kurata: Captain! Are you okay?

Itami: Hey there.

Kozak (raises down MK17): Lê?

Minh: Sup.

3rd Recon: Huh?

Hunter Team: ....what?

With Pina, Bozes, and Panache

Pina: Bozes, Panache, you attacked the SDF after we had guaranteed their safety, and treated your prisoners, Itami and Lê, in a fashion that was not "humane." These are both violations of the treaty. They have the power enough to defeat a Fire Dragon. If the use this incident as an excuse to start a war, you don't need me to tell you...what will happen to the Empire.

Bozes: Yes.

Pina: We need to make sure that everyone believes this never happened. And you both need to use your bodies to do it. It's a shame to give it to men as small as Itami and Lê...

Bozes: As the daughter of a noble house, I've been trained in these matters. I shall offer my body up for the sake of you and the Empire.

Panache: And I shall do the same, Princess.

Back to Minh

Minh's POV:

All of Hunter Team and 3rd Recon set aside their weapons and placed it on the floor and start talking with the maids or amongst themselves. Apparently, they snuck themselves into the city using Tuka's magic, which was used to put the guards to sleep. And....just like I said earlier, Kurata was now being douchey aka introducing himself to the cat maid, Persia.

Kurata: I-I am Sergeant Takeo Kurata! 21 years old. Single! My hobbies are anime and reading doujinshi! (bows) Nice to meet you!

Persia just giggles and starts laughing. Kozak, 30K, and Pepper were laughing as well.

Kozak: Oh man! And I thought today wouldn't be any better!

Pepper: No kidding! This is so f*king hilarious.

30K: Agreed on that one!

Kuribayashi then stands up and goes to my side of the bed while Mamina talks to her.

Mamina: The way you fought those bandits yesterday was wonderful. I'm in love!

Kuribayashi: Ah, it was nothing. Plus (points at me) the Lieutenant did more work than me.

Me: Kuribayashi, you did very well yesterday. If you weren't there covering me and Rory, god knows what could've have happened. Plus, you were skilled at talking out the bandits who rushed you with only a rifle and a pistol! If that happened in either the Vietnamese Army or the US Marines, I would've have recommended you for both the Gold Star Order and the Metal of Honor!

Kuribayashi: Well you were the one who killed 200 bandits in the midst of night and killed another 100 with the PKP! Anyways, about the wound, how is it?

Me: Well, for now I'm fine, though it's probably going to leave a mark tomorrow morning. Also, I'm not entirely sure if the blood will stop by then.

Kuribayashi: Then let me help you with that.

Kuribayashi then sits next to me and tends to my injury, clearing blushing. I guess Itami and Kurokawa were right about us after all. Maybe it was fate...

Meanwhile Lelei was talking to Aurea...

Lelei: How do these snakes shed their skin?

Aurea: That's a secret!

And Mohmu was talking to Tuka...

Mohmu: What's that fabric?

Tuka: I don't really know how it works, but it stretches and feels great.

And Rory was getting bored of hearing Kaine...

Kaine: I'm so honored to be in your holy presence again! Truly, Emroy is a compassionate god!

Rory: You've made your point...

And Kurata was enjoying Persia's tea.

Persia: How's the tea?

Kurata (excited): It's so good!

Persia: Meow!

Itami: Looks like everybody's getting along.

Me: Hunter Team as well. They deserve it.

Tomita: There dosen't seem to be any need to leave right away.

Katsumoto: Want to being the others back tomorrow?

Itami: We call tonight a "cultural exchange."

Me: Agreed.

We then started to move in so that Kurata would take a picture of us.

Just a few seconds before, Bozes and Panache came in pissed and red all over their face. Meanwhile Lelei and Persia looked over Kurata with his camera.

Kurata: And this is the picture.

Kuribayashi showed the picture for Rory over her phone as well.

Kuribayashi: You can take this one too!

Rory: How fascinating.

And Itami was talking to Tomita.

Itami: I see. That must've been rough. I'm glad it all worked out, though.

I stood up from the bed and talked to Hunter Team. Meanwhile I can hear Bozes and Panache talking behind us.

Bozes: Itami is ignoring me?

Panache: And Lê as well?

Bozes: These men have no idea what it took for the both of us to get here!

I then see Bozes head to Itami to slap him while Panache was heading for me. I already knew though.

Kozak: Lê! Behind you!

Me: Already 4 parallel universes ahead of you.

I then turn to Panache to see that she was about to slap me. I simply dodged her slap and she kept on trying and I just kept on using the Art of the Silent Fist (A/N: LEGO Ninjago reference). Eventually she was tired and just stormed towards Bozes. Itami meanwhile, was not so lucky.

Itami: Eh?

Bozes then slaps him.

Itami: AHHHHHHH!!!!

Next morning

While we were standing in front of Pina, she was furious about the slap mark.

Pina: And that wound on Itami's face?

Bozes puts her head down in immense shame.

Bozes: I did it.

Panache: I tried the same thing with the other one, but he blocked every single hit without attacking.

Pina places both of her hands on her face and yells out in anger.

Pina: What are we going to do?

Tomita: Um, we're going to take our Captain back...so you guys can deal with it.

Lelei translates.

Lelei: He says you can deal with it yourself.

Ghost Lead: And I'm going to take the Lieutenant back as well.

Lelei translates for Ghost Lead as well.

Pina yells out.

Pina: That won't work at all! I know! It's almost dawn! Why not have breakfast with us! Then you might rethink-

Kurata: That's a kind offer, but the thing is, Captain Itami and Lieutenant Lê are supposed to appear before the National Diet.

Ghost Lead: And the Vietnamese National Assembly wants 3rd Recon and Lê to testify as well.

Lelei translates.

Lelei: Itami and Lê have been asked to report to the Japanese and Vietnamese Senates.

Pina: The Japanese and Vietnamese Senates?!

Lelei: So they must return immediately.

Me (whispering to Kurata): Wait, did the lawmakers back at Washington give the go ahead?

Kurata: Yes sir.

Me (thinking): Well...sh*t. Not only do I have to testify before the Japanese Diet, but also the Quốc Hội (Vietnamese National Assembly) as well? Great......

Pina (thinking): They are both giving reports to both the Japanese and Vietnamese Senates? Which means...a single word from both of them could bring the SDF and even the Vietnamese military down on us!

Pina: Wait!

Everyone: Huh?

Pina: Then I'll...

She hesitates for a moment.

Pina: Then I'll go to Alnus, too! I wish to apologize to your superior officer directly for violating the treaty. I assume that's fine, Captain Itami and Lieutenant Lê?

Me and Itami:....what?!!

A few moments later

We were outside the mansion when Ghost Lead came to talk to me about something.

Me: Sir?

Ghost Lead: Command just gave us new orders. We have to go do some drug busting operation in South America. You're on your own for this one.

Me: I understand sir.

Ghost Lead: Alright, I'll catch you up later.

Me: Yes sir.

I see Hunter Team leave first in the MH-60X, ready to go back to the US for the new order. Meanwhile all of 3rd Recon's vehicles are parked outside and the maids about to wave us off. Bozes and Pina meanwhile were about to ride along with us wearing the Empire's more "formal" attire, which looks like a joke to me.

Bozes: Your Highness?

Pina: Yes.

Kurata meanwhile was saying bye to Persia.

Kurata: I'll come back, Persia-san!

Persia: I'll be waiting!

Me: That's enough now Kurata.

Itami: Looks like the princess is really serious about coming.

Tomita: Captain, it's from Major Higaki. He says we can bring her. Treat her well.

Itami: Roger. Tell him our ETA. Roll out!

Me (over radio): All vehicles you are clear to move out. Over.

Radio: Hear you Hunter 0-2, moving out.

All the vehicles move out. While we were heading back to Alnus Hill (Hill 001), I see that Bozes and Pina being uncomfortable in the vehicle. Probably because they never actually been in it before. Once we reach Alnus, we see that the SDF was doing their daily war drills.

Bozes: Your Highness! That's Alnus!

Pina: We're there already? What speed!

We see a Cobra helicopter fly past us overhead and Pina sees a group of SDF soldiers firing their rifles on the range.

Pina: Those staves. Are all the SDF's soldiers mages?

Lelei: No. That isn't magic. It's a weapon called either a gun, or a rifle.

Pina: A weapon?

Lelei: The principle is simple. They enchant a cylindrical container with explosion magic and use it to fire a piece of lead.

Pina: And they give that to all their soldiers?

Lelei: Yes. The SDF created this weapon and mastered the art of "fighting with guns", which is what gives them their strength.

Pina: How about the Vietnamese military and the US Marines?

Lelei: The Vietnamese Army also uses rifles, what they call the AK-74M, the M standing for Модернизированный, or Modern in Russian. It is a more advanced compared to the Japanese Howa Type 64 and Type 89 rifles, and their philosophy of rifles is a bit more advanced. The US Marines are already ahead in the technology game, giving their soldiers newer rifles than the Japanese and to some extend the Vietnamese, what they call the M27 IAR, IAR standing for Infantry Automatic Rifle and is a modification on a German rifle, the HK416. The reason why the Lieutenant is so skilled at marksmanship is because every US Marine is taught "Every Marine a Rifleman", meaning that every Marine is taught basic marksmanship with their standard issue rifle.

I smile at Lelei for remembering all the military jargon I told her and she smiles back at me.

Pina: They fight in a completely different way.

Lelei: That's why the Imperial Army lost. The SDF's tactics was just way too much for them.

We past by some Type 74 tanks doing their daily drills.

Pina: Iron Pegasuses and Iron Elephants..they truly are otherworldly monsters!

Me (thinking): Well, maybe you see a Vietnamese T-14 Armata or an American M1A2C Abrams.

A/N: In this story, Vietnam is rich enough to be able to purchase modern Russian technology, while the US Marine Corps has upgraded their tanks to M1A2C standard and hasn't disbanded them.

Pina: Why is an army like this attacking us?

Me (thinking): Maybe because you attacked us without warning, so we have to retailate?

Lelei: The Empire stepped on a griffon's tail.

Me (thinking): You better be lucky that the Gate didn't appear in the US or Vietnam. It would have been awakening two giants at once. Hell would happen after that.

Pina: How can you speak like that when the Empire itself is in peril?

Lelei: I am a nomad. The Empire has nothing to do with me.

Pina: So we can take over a country by force, but we cannot make its peoples' hearts our own.

Me (thinking): Oh great, you learned the lesson that the 3 que xỏ lá were never able to do.

A few moments later, Alnus Hill HQ

We begin to disembark from our vehicles when Pina pulls us aside for a bit.

Pina: Captain Itami, Lieutenant Lê?! May we speak for a moment?

Itami: Oh sorry...I need to go deal with this Diet thing.

Me: And I need to deal with the whole Washington and Hà Nội briefing stuff. And make more reports. (I sigh)

Itami points to Kuribayashi. He then takes off running.

Itami: That girl will show you where to go!

Me: What an idiot....

Pina stands there in shock.

Me: Well, I have to get going, see ya!

As I walk back to my Doanh Trại, I hear snippets of the conversation between Bozes and Pina.

Bozes: Your Highness...

Pina: I lost my chance to persuade them.

A few moments later

Third Person POV:

Hazama: Greetings.

They all are standing up greeting each other. Hazama and Yanagida are in the Japanese dress green uniform. While that, one particular Vietnamese general was there as well, Ngô Xuân Lịch, the Vietnamese Minister of Defense.

Lelei: This is Lieutenant General Hazama of the SDF. (waves to Ngô Xuân Lịch) And this is General Ngô Xuân Lịch, current Vietnamese Minister of Defense and of the People's Army of Vietnam.

Hazama: Please, be seated.

They all sit down.

Hazama: So, what brings and Imperial princess here in person?

Pina: My forces have behaved rather inappropriately so I've come to apologize.

Lelei translates.

Hazama: I've read the report. There was a miscommunication at the lower levels?

Pina: Yes. I'm terribly ashamed.

Lelei translates for Hazama.

Hazama: Dạ Đại Tưóng, có gì nói thêm không? (General, is there anything you want to say?)

Lịch: Mình đồng ý với đồng chí bên phải của mình. Rõ hơn là bị do thông tin sai lệch hơn một tấn công của quân lịnh của mình. (I agree with my comrade to my right. It is clearer than this is a miscommunication than a purposeful attack on one of our soldiers.)

Lelei translates.

Hazama: You've been kind enough to serve as a mediator between us and the Empire. If the treaty is causing you such problems, then perhaps we need to rethink it.

Pina: No, not at all! The current terms of the treaty are fine.

Yanagida: I heard from Captain Itami and Lê that lady and another gave them both quite a rough time.

Pina and Bozes gasps.

Yanagida: Those bruises on Captain Itami and the wound on Lê...that was hilarious. (he slightly chuckles). They wanted their injuries to be treated as frontline injuries. I have to ask, did they say anything rude to you?

Lelei translates.

Bozes: No..they didn't..

Lelei: Then they want to know in detail the reason you attacked them and what circumstances at the time were, they say.

Hazama: That's enough, Lieutenant Yanagida, they're terrified. Dạ Đại Tướng, có gì nói nũa không ạ? (General, do you have anything else to say?

Yangaida: Sorry, sir.

A few hours later, late afternoon, Alnus refugee camps, Special Region (KVĐB)

Tuka: Huh? They want me to go beyond the Gate?

Itami: Yup. They want you to talk on the other side as a representative from this world. We'll leave tomorrow. We should be staying for 1 night in Japan and about 3 nights in Vietnam, so you'll will be back before the week is over.

Tuka: Are you going Itami?

Itami: Of course. And Lelei will come too, as an interpreter.

Tuka: What will Dad say?

Itami: Huh?

Tuka: Oh, sorry. Would it make you happy if I went?

Itami: Me? More like everybody including the Lieutenant. Everybody here would be happy.

Tuka: I see. All right, then-

Rory: Hey! (opens the door) What are you planning on doing, without inviting me?

Itami: Rory...

Kato opens a door too.

Kato: I want to go, too.

Nighttime, Itami's office

Itami was streching his arms after a long day.

Itami: So tired...I had to hand my remaining ammo back in, clean my gun, and take it back to the armory, clean the mud off the vehicles, and explain the Diet summons...too much to do.

Minh: And you thought that no one else had to do it? Try cleaning a dozen weapons in one day and speaking with both Washington and Hà Nội. Makes me wanna collapse.

Itami: Yeah, same here.

Itami's phone rings.

Minh: Is it about Risa?

Itami: Yeah, yeah. Something about being hungry and a fire. And it's winter over there as well.

Minh: You should've probably given her some money.

Itami: Nah, she still owes me money from last time.

Minh: What a douchebag you are.

Itami: Anyways, I'm going to winter doujin events no matter what!

Minh: That's if you have time before the flight the day after.

Lelei comes in.

Itami: What is it? It's late.

Lelei: Itami, take me back to the camp. I'm tired. (falls down)

Minh: Yeah you should take her back.

Itami walks up to Lelei.

Itami: You've been interpreting this whole time? Good work.

Minh: Good job translating about 4 languages. You will probably be a language master in no time.

Itami: It's a bit late to get a car...Why don't you just stay-

Lelei falls asleep.

Minh: Well, you should get some sleep too. Big flight the day after, so we might get jet lag.

Itami: Well, see you.

Minh: You too.

Minh leaves.

A few moments later

Itami sets up a bed next to his office for Lelei. He then take off her robes, leaving her with a sweater and pants. Itami then tucks her up and then sits next to her bed.

Itami: I need to get some food and get to sleep myself.

Itami eventually falls asleep while sitting.

Early morning next day

Bozes and Pina wake up early in the day.

Bozes: Do you think they really plan on using the treaty violation to start a war?

Pina: No, if they did, they wouldn't allow our visit and treat us so well.

Bozes: Then...

Pina: I don't know. Our cultures are just so different. I can't even imagine what they're fighting for. And to find out...

Bozes: Princess Pina, you don't mean-

Pina: I have to go.

Morning a few hours later

Minh's POV:

I was getting ready for the day. Brushing my teeth, drying my face, and immediately putting on my Marine Service Uniform Alpha version (I plan to wear my Vietnamese green dress uniform when I get back). I walk out of my Doanh Trại to find Itami, Kuribayashi, Tomita, Rory, Tuka, and Lelei getting ready, with Itami, Tomita, and Kuribayashi in their Japanese dress green uniforms with their berets.

Itami: Lookin good Lê.

Kuribayashi: You look handsome sir. (she blushes)

Me: Well thanks. (I scratch my head and blush a little)

Tomita: Sir, why aren't you wearing your other uniform?

Me: The dress blues? Or my Vietnamese uniform?

Tomita: The dress blues, sir.

Me: That's because the dress blues are for formal occasions such as balls, while for testifying or doing normal business, we wear the service uniform.

Tomita: Noted sir. Captain sir?

Itami: Hm?

Tomita: Are you sure about this? (leans in to Itami) Nobody said anything about Rory.

Itami: I got permission. And we don't want her going nuts here.

Tuka meanwhile is talking to Lelei about the clothing.

Tuka: Why such heavy clothing?

Lelei: They say the weather's different on the other side. Yanagida arrives with the car.

Yanagida: Sorry. The paperwork took some time.

Yanagida opens the door to reveal Pina and Bozes inside. Pina and Bozes then step out. Itami has a look of shock on his face.

Yanagida: These two will be accompanying you, in secret of course. Take care of them.

Itami: Nobody said anything about this, Yanagida!

Yanagida: I've already talked to the people on the other side. (pulls out a report) This is from Lieutenant General Hazama. He says to show the girls a good time.

Me: And did the Vietnamese government okay this?

Yanagida: Yes they did. Though you might want to deal with your Vietnamese Army Intelligence about that.

Me: Noted.

Yanagida: The princess is our go between for the Empire. There's not harm showing her our's and Lê's countries right?

Me: Though she should watch out for the Vietnamese traffic. Heard that the time we arrive, students would almost be going out of school, then 2 hours later, it's rush hour.

Yanagida: Yeah, you sort that out. Can't do much about that here.

The Gate then opens for us.

Tuka: The world that Itami, Lê, and the others come from...

Rory: I can't wait!

Lelei: We're not there to have fun.

Rory: I know that.

Bozes talks to Pina.

Bozes: Your Highness?

Pina: Beyond this gate...lies Japan and Vietnam!

Me: Alright then, time to move!

Everybody: Right!
