synopsis

It was ironic that a member of the least favorite House at Hogwarts was the Champion of the Triwizard Tournament.

Cassius Warrington had never expected to be seen as anything other than another member of the Slytherin House. Accompanied by his best friend, Persephone Avery, the two are happy to face another year on the social outskirts of Hogwarts. But normal seems to have a habit of staying away from the both of them. With the announcement of the Triwizard Tournament and Persephone's mother acting more strange and anxious than usual, the year is shaping up to be more interesting than usual.

Cassius enters his name into the Goblet of Fire, more out of boredom than anything else. But he never expected his name to be the one chosen.

Cassius and Persephone's sixth year at Hogwarts is more interesting than usual. The return of Death Eaters place Persephone and her mother in mortal danger, a type of danger that Cassius might not be able to protect Persephone from. And that scares him more than any dragon ever could.

the badlands series
the prequel of the "badlands" series is titled "ghost", and is set in the mauraders era. it follows artemis avery and regulus black's story at hogwarts.
this is "gasoline", book one of this series, and it is set during "the goblet of fire". cassius warrington is selected as the hogwarts champion, and the book is told through his point of view.
"haunting", book two of the series, and it follows persephone avery as she grieves over the loss of her boyfriend while fighting the ministry. it takes place during "the order of the phoenix".
book three, "control", follows hermione granger as she hides the lies she's made for herself through the events of "the half-blood prince".
"hold me down" is book four, and it follows dudley dursley after voldemort murders his parents, leaving him to venture into the wizarding world with his cousin, harry potter. this book  follows the events of "the deathly hallows".
"i walk the line" is a novella that takes place during "goblet of fire" through "the deathly hallows", and it follows selene avery and her infatuation with hermione granger.

however, the series can be read in any order, as none of the books are yet completed.
