Aphmau stood on her balcony, the night sky a dark blue and the stars shining their brightest. She leaned over the railing and took a deep breath. It had rained that morning, so the smell of fresh air filled her nose.
"Psst! Aphmau!"
Aphmau looked down, smiling at the sight of her handsome boyfriend. "Hi Garroth!"
"You ready to go?" He asked, moving some of his sandy blonde hair out of the way of his deep blue eyes.
With a nod, Aphmau reached behind her and grabbed a rope made of many different blankets. She tied it to the railing and threw it over the side of her balcony. The end of it landed right next to Garroth, whom pulled down on it to make sure it was sturdy.
"Alright, come on down." He said.
Aphmau climbed over the side of the railing and gripped the blankets tightly. She then slid down and jumped off the rope, landing in a stance next to Garroth.
"It worked!" She squealed, jumping up and down.
Garroth placed his arm around her waist. He pulled Aphmau closer to him and placed his lips on hers. She smiled, placing her hand behind his neck and kissing back softly.
When they separated, Garroth smirked. "I love you. Now let's go, before your parents wake up." He said, making Aphmau giggle.
The two walked down to the beach, where they sat on the sand and stared at the ocean.
"How did you manage to leave your house without getting caught?" Asked Aphmau astonished.
"Well my bedroom is on the first floor. So I just opened the window, climbed out, and ran." Garroth responded, making Aphmau giggle.
"You're weird." She said.
Garroth raised an eyebrow. "Look who's talking, Miss-Vampire-Fanfiction."
"Hey!" Aphmau said, feigning offense. "The Sprinkle Vampires are not involved in this conversation."
Garroth laughed, pulling her closer to him. "Let's just say we're both weird. Ok?"
"Ok..." Aphmau agreed. "Hey Garroth.... Why don't our parents let us see each other anymore?"
"You know very well why." Garroth sighed. "Your mom found out I was the son of her most hated buisness enemy. And my dad found out you were the daughters of his number one opponent."
Aphmau sighed. "That's not fair..."
The two then began to recall what had happened the day the parents met.
"Mom, it's ok. You'll love Garroth!" Aphmau promised as her and her mother walked into the restaurant.
"I'm sure I will sweetheart." She laughed. "You talk fondly of him."
Aphmau blushed. "Well either way, you'll love him. Look, there his is now!"
Aphmau's mother looked up to where she was waving. A young man with blonde hair waved back. Seated next to him was his father. Aphmau hadn't met him yet, but her mother knew very well who it was.
"Hi Garroth!" Aphmau said with a smile as she pecked her boyfriend's cheek with her lips.
"Hey Aph." He greeted her as she sat next to him.
Aphmau noticed her mother was still standing. "Mom aren't you going to—?"
"Mr. Ro'Meave." She said sharply.
Garroth then noticed her hard glance at his father, whom was also glaring back.
"Mrs. Lorde." He responded with the same tone of voice.
Aphmau leaned into Garroth and whispered, "I don't get it, do they already know each other?"
"We do." Aphmau's mother snapped. "He is the head of O'Khasis Inc. That company I'm always telling you about."
Aphmau was familiar with the incorporation. Her mother hated that company.
"And this is the CEO of Phoenix Co." Garroth's father said.
Garroth was also familiar with the company, with whom his father despised.
Aphmau's mother looked at Mr. Ro'Meave, then at Garroth, then at Aphmau. "Is this your son?" She asked.
When Mr. Ro'Meave gave a nod, she looked at Aphmau. "You are to never speak with this boy again, do you understand me?"
Tears welled up in Aphmau's eyes. "What!?"
"And you, young man, are not allowed to contact this little lady." Mr. Ro'Meave said firmly.
"That's so unfair!" Garroth cried, standing up.
Aphmau's mother grabbed Aphmau's hand and pulled her out of her chair. "We're leaving."
"Mom I—!"
"Aphmau, what did I just say?" Said her mother, pulling her out of through the restaurant.
Garroth stood up, wanting to walk after them.
"Garroth sit down." Said his father.
"Dad—!"
"I said sit down." Stated his father firmly.
Garroth plopped into his chair as his father skimmed through the menu. "I did you a favor, young man. She won't ruin your life any longer, don't worry."
"That was probably the worst day of my life." Garroth said, interrupting Aphmau's thoughts.
Aphmau nodded in agreement. "Didn't the manager go to your table after and ask if there was a problem?"
At Garroth's sound of approval, Aphma laughed. "Don't worry Garroth. Our parents can't control us forever."
"You're right about that." Garroth said. "We'll graduate soon, we'll be 18, we can get jobs, move out, and most importantly, we can be together."
"Yeah." Aphmau smiled. "Just a year left."
She looked over at Garroth and once again pushed her lips against his. He placed his hand in the small of her neck, kissing back against her soft lips.
"I love you." Aphmau whispered as they pulled away.
"I love you too Aphmau." He responded before going in for another kiss.
