The scene changes where Dorothy, Garfield, Odie, Vic and Toto walk down the yellow brick road next to the cornfield.

Dorothy Gale asked looking confused "Follow the Yellow Brick Road? Follow the Yellow...? Now which way do we go?"

Scarecrow said "Pardon me! That way is a very nice way." This is the Scarecrow, he is hanging from the pole and he is pointing one direction

Dorothy Gale asked surprised "Who said that?" Toto barks at the scarecrow "Don't be silly, Toto. Scarecrows don't talk."

Scarecrow said "It's pleasant down this way too." He began pointing to another direction.

Dorothy Gale said "That's funny. Wasn't he pointing the other way?"

Vic said "I do believe he was."

Scarecrow said "Of course, people do go both ways." He then pointing in two opposite directions.

Garfield yelled a bit "He's alive!"

Dorothy Gale said realizing as she walked up to Scarecrow "Why, you did say something, didn't you?" Scarecrow shakes his head and nods "Are you doing that on purpose, or can't you make up your mind?"

Scarecrow said "That's the trouble. I can't make my mind. i haven't got a brain. Only straw." He shows straw to Dorothy.

Dorothy Gale asked "How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?"

Scarecrow said "I don't know. Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don't they?"

Dorothy Gale said "Yes, I guess you're right." She walks into the cornfield "Well, we haven't really met properly, have we

Scarecrow said "Why, no."

Dorothy Gale curtsied as she asked "How do you do?"

Scarecrow asked "How do you do?"

Dorothy Gale said "Very well, thank you."

Scarecrow said "Oh, I'm not feeling at all well. You see, it's very tedious being stuck up here all day long with a pole up your back."

Dorothy Gale said concerned "Oh, dear. That must be terribly uncomfortable. Can't you get down?"

Scarecrow said "Down? No, you see, I'm well. I'm..."

Dorothy Gale said "Oh, well, here. Let me help you. Garfield." They began to help Scarecrow down.

Scarecrow said grateful "Oh, that's very kind of you. Very kind."

Dorothy Gale said "Well, Oh dear, I don't quite see how I..."

Scarecrow said "Of course, I'm not bright about doing things but if you just bend the nail down in the back, maybe I'll slip off and-"

Dorothy Gale then sees the nail. "Oh yes!" Garifeld bends the nail "There we go."

Scarecrow falls and lands on the ground "Whoops!" He chuckled "There goes some of me again!"

Dorothy Gale asked worried "Oh, does it hurt you?"

Scarecrow stuffs the straw back into himself "Oh, no. I just keep picking it up and putting it back in again." Odie gave him some of the straw "Oh thank you." He chuckled, happily "My! It's good to be free!" He fall over to the ground and Dorothy exclaimed "Did I scare you?"

Dorothy Gale said "No, no. I just thought you hurt yourself."

Scarecrow asked "But I didn't scare you?"

Dorothy Gale replied "No, of course not."

Scarecrow said "I didn't think so." A crow lands on his shoulder "Boo! Scat! Boo!" The crow pecks the straw from his collar and flies "You see? I can't even scare a crow. They come from miles around just to eat in my field and laugh at my face." He said sadly "Oh, I'm a failure, because, I haven't got a brain!"

Dorothy Gale asked "Well, what would you do with a brain if you had one?"

Scarecrow said "Do? Why if I had a brain, I could." He began singing "I could while away the hours conferring with the flowers. Consulting with the rain. And my head I'd be scratching. While my thoughts were busy hatching. If I only had a brain." He began rolling down "I'd unravel every riddle. For any individle. In trouble or in pain." Dorothy and Vic catches him from falling.

Dorothy Gale sang "With the thoughts you'd be thinking. You could be another Lincoln. If you only had a brain."

Scarecrow sang "Oh, I could tell you why. The ocean's near the shore. I could think of things. I never thunk before. And then I sit and think some more. I would not be just a nothing, my head all full of stuffing. My heart all full of pain." He began dancing "I would dance and be merry. Life would be a ding-a-derry. If I only had a brain." He falls down "Whoa!"

Dorothy Gale picks up the straw and shakes his hand "Wonderful!" She puts the straw back in inside of Scarecrow "Why, if our scarecrow back in Kansas could do that the crows would be scared to pieces!"

Scarecrow asked "They would?"

Dorothy Gale nodded "Mm-hmm."

Scarecrow asked curiously "Where's Kansas?"

Dorothy Gale replied "That's where I live and I wanna get back there so badly, i'm going to the Emerald City to get the Wizard of Oz to help me."

Scarecrow asked "You're going to see a wizard?"

Dorothy Gale nodded "Mm-hmm."

Scarecrow asked "Do you think if I went, this wizard would give me brains?"

Dorothy Gale replied "I couldn't say. But even if he didn't, you'd be no worse off than you are now."

Scarecrow said "Yes, that's true."

Dorothy Gale said "But maybe you better not. I've got a witch mad at me, and you might get into trouble."

Scarecrow said "Witch? I'm not afraid of a witch! I'm not afraid of anything! Except a lighted match."

Dorothy Gale said "I don't blame you for that."

Scarecrow said "But I'd face a whole box of them for the chance of getting some brains. Look, I won't be any trouble, because I don't eat a thing. And I won't try to manage things, because I can't think. Won't you take me with you?"

Dorothy Gale said "Why, of course I will!"

Scarecrow then gets up happily "Hooray! We're off to see a wizard!" He was about to fall

Dorothy Gale caught him "Oh, you're not starting out very well."

Scarecrow said "Oh, I'll try! Really, I will."

Dorothy Gale asked "To Oz?"

Scarecrow replied "To Oz!"

Scarecrow and Dorothy Gale began singing together and skipping down the road "We're off to see the wizard. The wonderful Wizard of Oz. We hear he is a whiz of a wiz. If ever wiz there was. If ever, oh ever a wiz there was. The Wizard of Oz is one because. Because, because, because, Because, because. Because of the wonderful things he does. We're off to see the wizard. The wonderful Wizard of Oz."

Dorothy, Garfield, Odie, Vic Toto and Scarecrow walk down the road continuing the journey to the Emerald City.
