Tonight is the night. Prom Night. Marina gets changed in her room since her hair and makeup are finished and still feels dreading of going.

" Marnia, it's almost time to go." Elisa said as she looked at herself in the mirror as she wore her black dress.

" I'll be out in a minute." 

Elisa puts on her earrings as she Goliath, Brooklynn, Lexington, and Broadway landing on the balcony. 

" Hey, Elisa. Wow, you look great." Broadway said. 

" You look lovely tonight." Goliath said as he came over to Elisa's side. 

" Thank you. Mari the guys are here. Come on out." Elisa said as she called her sister out.

" Coming." Marina said as she opened the door and walked out for everyone to see. 

" Whoa, Mari?" Brooklyn said as he was speechless at seeing how beautiful Marina looked in her dress. 

" Wow, look at you." Lexington said as he was amazed at how cute Marina looked. 

" Okay, I can't do this I"m not going." Marina went to go back to her room. 

" No!!" The trio said. 

" Mari, come on. You look wonderful." Broadway. 

" Yeah, you're going to have lots of fun." Lexington. " And you're going to win prom queen." 

" I don't know if I'm going to win, and I don't even have a date." Marina said as she fiddled with her hands. 

" Hey, those guys are fools not asking you. It's their loss." Brooklyn said as his words sank into Marina's head which helped. 

" Really? You guys think I have a shot?" 

" Yeah, Mari. Stop beating yourself, and go have some fun." Elisa came to her side. 

" Well, alright. I wish you guys would come. You know...you guys can. I remember helping out with the decorations and there's a second floor the party isn't using for the next few hours. Can the guys come please?" Marina asked Elisa since their friends can easily hide away and enjoy the prom as well. 

" Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt for you guys to check out the prom at least once. Just make sure you keep out of sight." Elisa said as the trio got excited as they all headed out to the prom. Goliath was a little curious about how the young kids would be excited for a dance. 

It didn't take long for everyone to arrive at the prom. Everyone at school looked amazing and Marina started to feel under-dress but kept calm and relaxed. 

The trio and Goliath went to the roof entrance and snuck inside they made it to the second floor and saw all the decorations as the music played. 

" Wow, so this is what prom looks like." Brooklyn said.

" It's amazing." Lexington said. 

" Look at all of that food." Broadway said. 

" It sure does look interesting. Tell me what is so special about this prom? Goliath asked them. 

" Well from what Marina has told us, it's the last dance of the school year, and everyone gets dressed up to celebrate with their friends until graduation day. That's when their friends and family celebrate the students who have worked hard and prepared themselves to make their futures." Lexington explains to Goliath as they look at all the students having a good time then see Elisa and wonder what was she like in her youth. 

After a while, Elisa carefully snuck away and brought food for the group. 

" Hey, guys. Sorry, it took me a while to bring food for all of you. I didn't want anyone to be suspicious of me bringing food away from the crowd." 

" It's alright Elisa and thank you." Goliath said. 

" Yeah, thank you Elisa. This prom is fantastic." Brooklyn said as he tried out the food.

" It looks like Mari is having fun. Isn't she?" Broadway said as he was a little concerned. 

" She tries not to show it., but she is feeling anxious. I want to help her, but she asked me not to because she wants to work things out on her own." Elisa said as she felt bad but could understand what it is like to be a teenager. 

" Alright everyone, it's time to announce this year's prom king and queen." The principal tells everyone as they get closer to the stage. 

The trio went closer to the stage to get a better look. Broadway noticed something on the light stands and wasn't sure what it was. 

" Your prom king is...Todd Jackson!" Everyone cheered for Todd as he came up to the stage and accepted his crown.

" And now, the moment you've all been waiting for. Your prom queen is...Marina Maza!" 

Everyone cheered for Marina as she was shocked to hear her being called. Marina walked up to the stage as Broadway saw movement behind the curtains to find someone holding a rope, and noticed a bucket hovering right where Marina was standing. 

" Guys we gotta help Marina, she's going to get humiliated once that bucket tips over." Broadway tells them and quickly reacts. 

The trio carefully goes on the light set and quickly gets the bucket away from the stage. 

Brooklyn and Broadway carry the bucket away from the stage since it is very heavy and Lexington ties the rope so it doesn't get pulled. 

Marina felt the tiara being placed on her head and she felt happy. 

Marina smiled at the crowd as she held her flowers and looked forward to the king and queen dance. But out of nowhere, a loud splash came out right behind the curtains, and heard three girls screaming as they came out covered in chocolate sauce. Everyone in school was laughing at Sally Ryder, and her two friends Anna and Becky Carter as Marina felt bad for them. 

" Ugh! This is all your fault!" Sally said to Marina. 

" My fault? I never did anything to you." 

" Oh, please." You're such a loser everyone only voted for you because they felt sorry for you. Because you're a freak!"  

What Sally said to Marina struck a chord as she was forced out of the prom the room got quiet and awkward, but Marina looked out to the crowd and could see Sally was telling the truth. The trio wanted to do something but couldn't. Brooklyn looks at Marina as he feels horrible for her to be treated like this. 

Marina took a deep breath walked up to the microphone and spoke her words. " Thank you for your support. I hope to all of you go after your dreams as I go after mine." Marina said as she walked off the stage and headed out the door. 

Elisa hurries downstairs and quickly made to Marina's side and can see how hurt she is." Mari I..." 

" Elisa, I just want to go home. Please." 

" Okay." Elisa and Marinna walk outside as the gargoyles watch them leave and glide back to the apartment. 

It didn't take long for everyone to get back. Once the girls came inside the apartment came inside and wanted to say something but weren't sure what to say. They all looked at Marina as if she couldn't look at anyone in the eye. 

Before anyone could say anything Marina put her flowers on the coffee table, went outside, and closed the door behind her as she still felt numb from what just happened at prom. Being pitty from everyone. 

" Man, I feel terrible. I had no idea Mari was going through all of this." Lexington said as he looked outside to see Marina.

" she wanted to tell you guy, but she didn't want to worry you." Elisa said as she sat down on the couch. 

" Well, she should have told us. No person should have been humiliated like that. Those girls must be punished." Goliath said as he wanted to do something. 

" They are, Goliath. I spoke to the principal is suspending the girl and going to miss their graduation for hurting Marina." 

" But Mari is already hurt." Brooklyn said as he looked at Marina the whole time. 

" So what do we do now?" Broadway asked. 

" I better call my parents and tell them what happened." Elisa walks over to the phone as Brooklyn takes the leap and goes outside. 

" Mari?" 

" I don't want to talk Brooklyn." 

" Alright, you don't want to talk but I need you to listen. What those girls try to do to you is unforgivable. The guys and I saw the bucket and moved it out of the way before it was knocked over to get on you." 

" What? That was you guys?" 

" Of course Mari. You didn't deserve that. Especially calling that horrible name." 

" But Sally..." 

" I don't care what Sally said, you are not that." 

" But I don't deserve this..." Marina took off the crown and wanted to throw it over the balcony but felt Brooklyn's claws on her hands. 

" Yes, you do. But not as prom queen. Something much better." Brooklyn takes the crown from Marina's hands and places it back on her head. " From now on you're Marina Maza, Princess of New York." 

With Brooklyn's words, Marina felt tears coming down her cheeks and hugged him happily as she didn't want to let go of him Brooklyn felt the same way. 

" I got an idea." Lexington went over to Elisa's radio, turned it on, and tried to find a good song until the song " I'll Stand by You" by the Pretenders started to play. Broadway opened the screendoor for Brooklyn and Marina to hear.

" You know, you didn't have a chance to dance with your king. May I have this dance?" 

" You may." Marina takes Brooklyn's claw and slow dances with him the whole time and it feels perfect. Even Elisa and Goliath danced together to the music since the message of the song is the guy will always stand by her no matter what. 

Once the song was over the next song came on and it was Marina's favorite pop song quickly came inside with Brooklyn. " Lex, turn that up!"

Marina danced her heart out with the trio as they danced as well., which made the night even better. Elisa and Goliath went outside to the kids enjoy their time. 

" At least the good part of tonight is Marina has real friends who are always there for her." Elissaid as she can see Marina smiling so happy. 

" Yes. She is a part of our clan. She is family to us all." Goliath said as they both watched the other dance. 

Marina was having so much fun and even danced like Powerline with the guys since this was so much for fun than the prom. 

Marina couldn't ask for a better night and sure is going to remember this forever.
