Chapter 5: Training

Ganondorf stands in front of the ladies, smiling.

"OK ladies! Today I'm gonna be helping you advance your magic, be it combat or support wise. I'm going to assign you different tasks. Urbosa, try channeling electricity into your shield to charge it. That way, when enemies strike it, it shocks and disarms them."

"Got it."

Urbosa heads off to the nearby Bokoblin camp to practice.

"Mipha, I want you try to use your powers to heal any sick, injured or dying animals around this area. I'm sure you've done this before, but it still could help you manage the strength of your healing powers, and how different creatures heal. If you want to be a good Champion, you'll need to understand your limitations."

"Right. That sounds like a perfect idea."

She wanders into the forest, a determined gleam in her eyes. Then Ganondorf turns to Zelda, smiling.

"And for you, I have a very special task. Your goddess magic draws your strength from hope and love. As they're emotions, it's much harder to draw upon, but easy to master. So, Zelda what makes you happy? What do you want to protect? And I want to hear what you really think, not just what's been hammered into your poor head."

"Oh! Of course! I love doing in the field work. I've always enjoyed with being close to subjects being studied like a Guardian. I've always wanted to go explore other regions more thoroughly, like the Grey do desert, which has plenty of interesting old structures."

And he lets her talk. He listens very carefully smiling as she goes on and on about the things she loved to do in the field. The way she rambled was very cute. She seems so relaxed, like talking with an older sibling. And it's then that Ganondorf realizes this is what Zelda needs. Since her father wasn't focusing on what his daughter needed, he needed to. He also realizes that the king might know of his ancestors, and helping Zelda master her power was basically his one shot at making sure he could step a foot near Hylians and not get turned into a pincushion.

"... and I'd love to find out more about the Zonai too! Their entire culture has vanished, so I want to know more about them too. Maybe... after all of this so over, that can be our next adventure?"

"Sure! I'd love to! But right now, concentrate on that feeling. Feel the joy of the things you love talking about channeling through you."

Zelda nods and stands up. She closes her eyes and clasps her hands together. She takes a deep breath, and exhales slowly, before she concentrates. Slowly, her body slowly starts to glow with a golden aura, rippling slowly across her like waves on the sea. Ganondorf smiles.

"Keep going! Your doing it!"

Zelda smiles and the golden aura surges. But then Zelda gasps and jumps back. The aura flows rapidly down to her feet and becomes a sort of wave of energy, traveling all across Hyrule.

"What just happened?"

"I don't know. But I have a a feeling that that ripple you just released is gonna be both good... and bad. But right now, let's focus on the good. You did it! You accessed the power of the goddess!"

"I did. I did! I DID!"

She squeals with joy, and pounces at Ganondorf. She hugs him and the two laugh and spin about.

"I did it! I finally did it! Thank you Ganondorf! I haven't felt this elated since... a long time."

"That's good. And this is a good start! But what made you snap out of it?"

"I saw a... vision. I was on Mt. Lanayru, and I saw my mother. She was holding... a beautiful bow. It as so intricately designed that I thought it was a work of art at first glance. She made a motion as if to hand it to me, but that's when the vision cut short."

"Interesting. I guess we'll just have to go to Mt. Lanayru. And Link and I are sticking with you. Of course, that bow is probably destined for you, so we could give you archery classes too. That could also help you defend yourself as you climb up the mountain."

"That sounds like a splendid idea! Ohh, I can't wait to tell the others!"

"They'll be overjoyed."

As Zelda walks away with a skip in her step, Ganondorf scowls and glances over his shoulder. He raises his hand, and swings it. A pressurized blade of winds rips through the air. He hears a squelch and a thump and sees a severed arm, twitching slightly while clutching a duplex bow. He scowls, before slowly turning and walking away. The Yiga who's arm he had just separated his behind a tree, slowly preparing the one handed teleport symbol. He disappears in a poof of smoke and talismans. He pops back into existence in the Yiga clan base, he limps past the Yiga swordsmen, bowing his head respectfully.

"Mast Kohga! Master Kohga!"

The portly Yiga leader tuns lazily before jumping.

"Sweet jumping banana peels! Ekio, are you okay?!"

"Yes sir. I can stop the bleeding. But I must reveal important news! The vassal has helped the Princess unlock her sealing power! She said she saw a vision of mother on Mt. Lanayru with a sort of mystical bow."

"Oh man. That's sounds bad!"

"Fret not, old fool."

A man steps out do the shadows. He wears a long purplish-black cloak, and wielding a strange orb that resembled the Giant Core of some Guardians. He is unnaturally pale, his skin almost as white as chalk. He smirks at the Yiga clan leader.

"Even if my vassal failed, and has turned against us, we will simply adapt our plans. We will ambush them at the Base of Mt. Lanayru. Simple as that. We will bring all of our forces, and I'll really some powerful monsters as well. They can't overcome and entire army without their guardians and Divine Beasts."

He laughs, but in the shadows, Sooga watches. He turns as three female Yiga members appear.

"My daughters. My pride and joy. I do not trust the words of the Seer. I fear he will still try to woo the boy to his side. Kill the boy before then, or at least divert his attention away from their quest to Mt. Lanayru."

He hugs them and pats their shoulders, and they disappear. Sooga sighs, admittedly worried for his daughters, but shrugs it off and continues to watch over his leader. Ekio leaves to get proper treatment, and Kohga begins to gorge himself on another bunch of bananas. Astor continues to consult the strange malice infected guardian.
