Chapter 23 : Rainfall of Truth

YN stumbled into her home, her chest heaving with the weight of her emotions. Tears blurred her vision as she fumbled her way to the living room, her mind racing, thoughts spiraling into chaos. She wanted to forget Namjoon, wanted to erase every memory that kept him lingering in her heart like a wound that refused to heal. But here he was, back in her life, stirring everything up all over again. Her hands clenched into fists, her voice barely a whisper as she choked out, "Why... why can't you just leave me alone, Namjoon?"

Outside, the rain started to fall heavily, and as the steady rhythm of droplets echoed through the silence, she heard a faint voice calling her name. At first, she ignored it, assuming it was just her imagination playing cruel tricks.

But it grew louder, more persistent, until she walked over to the window, parting the curtains just enough to see him standing outside, soaked, his face pale and raw with emotion.

Namjoon's figure was shadowed in the dim light, but his eyes burned with a desperate intensity as he looked up at her window. Rain ran down his face, blurring the line between water and tears. His shoulders shook as he stood there, unmoving, pleading without words.

She threw open the window, her voice filled with a mix of anger and heartbreak. "Why are you here, Namjoon? Why now?" Her voice rose, bitter and pained. "Can't you let me be happy, for once in my life? I was trying so hard to move on... and I found someone who cares about me, who respects me. Not like you. Not like the person who used me and tossed me aside while chasing after someone else."

Namjoon's voice broke as he called back to her, desperation threaded in every word. "YN, please, don't go. I love you... I know I was wrong, I was stupid. But I need you. I need you more than I can even say."

His confession clawed at her heart, twisting the knife of her own feelings. Her mind screamed for her to hold firm, to resist the temptation to fall back into his arms.

She swallowed hard, clenching her fists as she fought against the tide of emotions threatening to pull her under. She wouldn't be weak this time. She wouldn't let him hurt her again.

She turned away from the window, breathing heavily as she paced, her mind flashing back to the painful memories he had left her with. Finally, she gathered her strength, walked downstairs, and opened the door, stepping out into the rain.

The cold drops stung her skin, grounding her as she faced him, her eyes hard but glossed with unspent tears.

Namjoon stood before her, drenched, his eyes rimmed red as he took a shaky breath. She closed the distance between them, grabbing him by the collar with a force that surprised even herself

"Why didn't you love me before?" she demanded, her voice trembling as she searched his eyes for an answer.

"Why now, Namjoon? When I tried so hard to give you everything, you pushed me away. You kept me in the shadows while you lived your life. Why was I never enough for you?"

His voice was quiet, laced with vulnerability as he finally replied, "Because... because you were too beautiful to be mine. And I was too broken to be yours."

A bitter smile crept onto her lips, laced with sadness. "So what am I now, Namjoon? Someone to come running to every time the world breaks you? Am I your mistress, someone you can just use for comfort?"

He looked into her eyes, his voice barely a whisper, "No... you're my home." His gaze held an honesty she hadn't seen before-a look of sincerity, of a man stripped bare of all pretense. She could see the regret and the love in his eyes, woven together with the pain of all the mistakes he'd made.

But her walls were still up, her pain too raw to let him in so easily. She took a step back, her voice a mixture of anger and sorrow. "Go to your Rubie, Namjoon. Isn't she your love?

Why don't you go and enjoy your life with her?"

At the mention of Rubie, Namjoon's face changed, shadows passing over his features. He took a deep breath, his voice quiet but intense. "YN... Rubie was never what you thought."

Her brows furrowed, confusion mingling with her anger. "What do you mean? I was there, Namjoon. I saw it with my own eyes. You were drunk, she was holding you and you called her name in your sleep, you... you reached for her even when I was there beside you. Don't lie to me now."

Namjoon took her hands gently, holding them firmly as he searched her eyes. "You have no idea what you mean to me. I've never slept with anyone else but you" His voice grew softer.

YN: Then who was she who bring you home and talking about...that shits"

Namjoon try to remember that day...

"I was at my office then i attended a party and then i don't remember....

Ummmm Sara....she must be Sara, she is my employee, she was just playing around you..I'll take her class just let me go back to Korea .."

YN: Then who is Rubie your.. secret lover .."

"She was my caretaker, YN. When I was only twelve, Anna was just a baby. My parents were killed, and Rubie took us in. She was young, barely out of her teens, but she was brave. She saved us, hiding us away from the people who wanted us dead.We start our new life, I always used to joke that I'd marry her someday, just a boy's fantasy.... She protected us. She was the reason we survived."

YN listened, her anger slowly ebbing away, replaced by a deep sorrow she hadn't expected. "What happened to her?" she asked, her voice soft, almost afraid to hear the answer.

Namjoon's face grew dark as he remembered. "They came for her one day, the same people who killed my parents. She made sure we escaped, even though I begged her to come with us. I watched them take her life while Anna slept in my arms." His voice broke as he choked out the words, his eyes glistening. "Since then, I became this and I've always called out to her in my sleep, hoping somehow that she'd still be there to protect me. To keep me safe."

The rain poured down around them, each drop like a reminder of the pain they'd both endured. For the first time, YN saw the boy behind the man, the scars beneath his armor.

She felt the weight of his past and understood the walls he'd built, the ghosts that had haunted him.

She took a step forward, her hand reaching up to gently cup his face. "Namjoon... you never had to hide your past from me. I would've understood."

He looked down at her, the guilt and sorrow etched in his features. "YN, I was so afraid of losing you. I thought if you knew everything, you'd see the darkness in me and run. But you... you made me feel alive again. You showed me that love doesn't have to be a weakness."

Tears slipped down her cheeks as she gazed at him, her heart breaking and mending all at once. She let her walls fall, the last pieces of her pain melting away in the rain.

As YN stood there in the pouring rain, the emotions swirled around her like the storm itself-anger, love, pain, and a longing she'd fought to ignore. She looked up at Namjoon, seeing the man before her in a new light, the weight of his past and his confession sinking into her heart.

Slowly, she reached up, her hand trembling as she cupped his cheek, feeling the cold rain mixing with the warmth of his skin.

Namjoon's gaze softened, the raw vulnerability in his eyes pulling her in as he leaned down, his lips hovering inches from hers. She hesitated for a second, feeling the last remnants of her anger slip away, replaced by an overwhelming need to be close to him. He closed the gap between them, his lips brushing hers with a gentleness she hadn't expected.

It was a kiss filled with the longing of all the lost time between them, tender and deep, as if he was savoring every second.

He pulled her closer, his hand moving to the small of her back as he held her against him, their bodies fitting together as if they were two halves finally reunited. YN's fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt, clinging to him as the kiss deepened, turning passionate and urgent. It was as if all the emotions they had held back, all the pain and misunderstandings, poured into that kiss. She could feel his heart beating against her own, the rain soaking them to the bone, but neither of them noticed. The world around them faded, and all that mattered was the warmth of each other, the safety they found in each other's arms.

Their kiss broke slowly, and YN rested her forehead against his, their breaths mingling in the cold, damp air. Namjoon looked down at her, his thumb brushing away the raindrops on her cheek.

I don't ever want to lose you again, he whispered, his voice hoarse with emotion. She looked up at him, seeing the sincerity in his eyes, and for the first time, she believed him. She believed that maybe, just maybe, this was the beginning of something real.

As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the

weight of the night's revelations settled between them. She pulled back slightly, taking a deep breath to steady herself.

For the first time in years, Namjoon felt whole, his past finally laid to rest in the arms of the woman he loved.

And for YN, she found peace in the embrace of the man who had broken her, only to mend her heart piece by piece.
