Chapter Sixteen : His Thug ; Culturally Genius
~~~
It had been a long day and seemingly going to be a long night, and Red wanted nothing more but to fall into her mattress and sleep.
These two new guests had taken over her room so, she was to sleep in either Ciel's room, the servants quarters or of course Sebastian's room.
She knew Ciel would want his space so, that left the servants quarters, and just before she had entered she was stopped and Sebastian stood before her.
"Yes? Is there something wrong?" She had asked him softly, she stepping back so he could step out and shut the door.
"Come, you can sleep in my room, I wouldn't want my master knowing you slept with those three." He had said, gently grabbing her bag and guiding her to his room.
She smiled and followed behind undoing her braid as she went.
"I just think you don't want their clumsiness to rub off on me." She had replied to which he had smiled and chuckled.
"I suppose your right about that, but I know how stubborn your body is, and they cannot fully understand your condition." He had replied, looking back at her softly as he went.
She looked to the side and sighed softly.
"Why?" She had asked once they were in the room and the door was shut behind the both of them.
"Hm? Why? What ever do you mean?" He then asked her.
"You've just been, nicer towards me lately, it's kind of odd. It's not that I don't like it, it's more so, I'm wondering if you were ordered or-." She had asked, to which he had stopped and glanced at her.
"Curious aren't you?" He had smirked and asked her in return.
"More or less." Red responded quickly as if not to show hesitation.
He had smiled and then continued towards his bed, setting her bag down.
"Perhaps because during our time together as servants to our Master, I have come to respect you, as well as believe you'd do anything to save him," He had replied.
"And, you've been out of everything since I kissed you, part of me thinks you've been distracted from-." She interrupted.
"N-No of course not! Sebastian that's not-!" He quickly covered her mouth and pushed her against the wall behind her, and his meet hers.
"Sh. You mustn't yell, you'll wake the master." He had said, she moving her head just enough to break free of his hand.
"Still, you don't just joke about -mmm, mmm! Mmm~." She had began but then fell into sweet silence as his lips quickly yet gently meet her own, and her eyes had fallen closed.
He straightened himself and made her tilt her head back as he deepened the kiss and a hand held her cheek.
After a little while he pulled away, his eyes glowing their demon color, hers seeming to glow a soft pale red as well.
"W-Why'd you..?" She had asked him as he held her cheeks, his other hand going around her hip and pulling her against his chest.
"Testing your reactions, not only that, but, I wanted to know if I could bed with you, just lay beside you so you can sleep. You always beg me to stay and I leave but, I want to make sure your well rested for tomorrow, you don't always sleep through the whole night, and I figured some motivation would be convincing." He had said with a smirk and she looked away shyly, her hand covering his own which rested on her cheek.
"Please..., stay with me..." She had begged him, she hiding herself in his chest, knowing he knew she didn't always sleep well.
"Of course Miss Red, I will stay." He replied knowing he was slowly luring her into his trap, her soul would be his, first his masters, then Red Wing Glass's.
After getting dressed and getting a quick bite from the kitchen she had made her way to the fencing room for her combat training with Ciel, she wasn't late but wasn't early either.
An after a soft yawn a loud, "Argh! Shut up" erupted from Ciel and she knew that the guests had to be responsible and she knew Sebastian could handle it.
She continued to walk calmly and then yet another yell.
"L-Lord Ciel! I am so sorry!" Screamed through one named Agni, and Red quickly ran to the room, seeing Sebastian tending to Ciel who's arm seemed to be hurt.
"Ciel! What happened!" She had rushed over and asked him what happened as Sebastian stood, observing the two Indians.
"Agni! You protected your master. Agni's my Khansama. He belongs to me. Therefore, I win!" The spoiled brat had shouted gently patting Agni's shoulder.
Agni looking mortified.
"No-!" Ciel began.
"Easy Ciel, easy." Red had said, gently working his nerves back into his arm.
"Now you must accompany me!" The prince bellowed again.
"Dear Dear. Now you must avenge your lord Master Butler." Lau had said, tossing the fencing sword to Sebastian.
"Ciel's Khansama. Are you going to fight?" Asked the Prince whom was so caught up in the action to notice Red Wing was glaring daggers at him.
"Goodness... all this because you were nasty to a complete amateur who does not know the rules." Sebastian scolded his Master.
"Wha-?!" Ciel started.
"However, my master has been injured. As butler to the Phantomhive family, I must do something about it. Moreover," Sebastian paused as his face hardened to a semi ruthless glare.
"We've fallen ten minutes behind schedule."
Ciel glared to his butlers head.
"That's your real motive isn't it?"
Red had smiled and then shook her head.
"He's fine Sebastian, just a paralyzed nerve." Red had replied, making sure he knew he would be fine as she continued to work the nerve.
"Interesting, very well. I approve of the duel! Agni! In the name of your goddess Kali, win this match!" Soma had ordered.
"Sebastian! I command you. Shut the brat up!" Ciel then ordered.
"Jo aagyaa."
"Yes, my lord."
A few days had passed since then, and things had become awful cheerful considering the guests, there was even another attack. Still no casualties.
"I hate to say it this way but, we're normally ahead with Undertaker's help," Red had spoke, she moving her chess piece into the check position. Ciel looking confused and frantic for but a moment.
"An we haven't seen him in a while, I'm sure he gets lonely talking to corpses all the time." She then said taking a sip of tea.
"Still, I don't know why Master Butler has us all awake at 3:00 in the-."
"Young Master. He is on the move." Sebastian had hung from the roof like a spider.
"Alright-." Ciel was interrupted.
"Wait!" It was the spoiled prince.
"You-!"
"Take me with you as well. I was aware that Agni would sometimes go out after I'd gone to bed. I want to know what he's up to." He said hanging his head.
"Red, is like you to stay here," Ciel had ordered her.
"Of course, I'll tend to the bed warming." She had teased Ciel, and then giggled seeing his flustered face.
"Why you!" Ciel had snapped but was then directed away.
"Don't you think you were a bit harsh on the Prince?" Red had asked Sebastian, she having her hair brushed, mainly because Sebastian asked her to.
"Unfortunately that was the only way for me to open his eyes, and you know as such. You weren't given your titles, you earned them. You are everything different compared to him." Sebastian spoke truly.
"No. He had the courage to save Agni's life." She had said to which he had stopped brushing her hair.
"I see you overheard the story then, easedropping again?" He had asked her with a disappointed sigh.
She smiled.
"Perhaps, but, you cannot tell me Agni does not love his Master. An what you told me from West's household, there is something else going on. There is a blackmail of some kind in the works, but, since your cooking curry in this contest now, I guess I could step out of the loop for a little while. I'm sure you can handle things." She had said.
"Where are you going?" Sebastian asked confused.
"I need to speak with Undertaker. He, he knows something about the man or woman who brought me to this time." She had explained to him, leaving out the most important part.
"Really? Anything else?" Sebastian asked as he then began to braid her hair.
She shook her head, her gaze falling on the mirror in front of her.
"I need to know why I am here." She had said to herself, knowing that was the one way she could lie, which was to herself.
Sebastian had smiled and then continued.
"You won't stop until you get answers hm? Just like the master." He had replied to her, and after he was done with the last three cross overs he had finished the braid with a long black ribbon as he slid it in and out of her strands.
"Yeah, I've always been that way." She had replied to him.
He had smiled and leaned forward, his lips finding her neck, and she had gasped and then felt his hand cover her mouth and tilt her head to the side, gently kissing and even gently biting her skin.
"Mmm! Mmmmm~! St-Mmmm~?" She had groaned against his hand.
"You mustn't yell, your the only one who knows of my true self, besides the Young Master, therefore your the only one who can handle my urges to attack and kill, but, I wouldn't want that to befall on you darling Red, still, I know that you know exactly who I am. Don't you~?" He had purred as he continued to attack her neck, his other arm holding her body against the chair so she couldn't get away.
'Stop! Sebastian stop! Please! Sebastian!' She screamed in her head.
"Mmm! Mmmm! Mmmmm!" She began to thrash around and try to escape, hearing voices fill her head.
"Hold her down-!"
"Come now open up-."
"Are you ready, dearest Red~?"
She had then fainted for but a moment before her eyes had opened again and she bit into Sebastian's hand, harshly.
In surprise he pulled away and she stood, turning and then sending kicks and punches one after another, she somehow not making any noises.
He dodged as best as he could and eventually had both her wrists in one hand he pushing her against the wall by her forehead and gripping and holding her bangs up, seeing her once red eyes were now a wild gold, full of danger and bloodlust.
He recalled from her records, the same eyes of the man who cause her so much pain and distress.
"Hehe~, like what you see. Demon?" She had asked him, even her voice was different, deeper and more venom laced.
"Who are you? You're not Red," Sebastian asked her with a glare, releasing her bangs.
"Hehe, of course not. Carla, Carla is my name. I am but another personality within her head, the monster within so to speak. The one who destroyed those damned snakes after her darling gangs death. And, as well as the one who walked towards the light and ended us here! Haha! Aren't you curious about the contract we have? Hm? The purpose me and her have here, who we are together?" She had replied with a smirk, she then driving her knee into his stomach as he stumbled back a small amount, in shock of the woman before him.
"Go on, ask me." She had teased him, but her hand then quickly grabbed her own throat and pushed her back against the wall.
It wasn't suffocating.
"Leave him alone Carla!" Red's voice came through.
"Come on now, you can't be serious now after he tried to take advantage-." She had replied, not fighting Red.
"No! Leave us alone!" Red had said again she actually starting to choke herself, to which Carla had sighed and then closed her eyes and then Red fainted, but being quick he caught her.
"Red! Red?" He had asked, putting his head against her chest, hearing a heartbeat.
He then sighed in relief, then looked to her face as he tucked her into bed.
"Your less of a human than I thought, Miss Glass." He smirks.
"Interesting indeed."
"Are you sure you'll be alright here?" Asked Sebastian as he set her down before the Undertaker's parlor.
"I'm sure, I need to know why I am here. Something he said to me makes me wonder why I am here." She had said.
Sebastian eyes her wearily wondering if she remembered anything from last night. He giving her space.
"Red, are you sure want to journey down this path?" He had asked her softly, his hands going on his shoulders before gently turning her around to face him, her gaze looking away, she seeming uncomfortable.
"I have to know why I'm here..." She had said again, he lifting her chin to make her look at him.
"You can ask Carla, you don't have to talk to him. Come back to-." She interrupted.
"What, the manor? Back to your room where you can take advantage of me? Your a butler who serves his master, not someone who... who pesters me.." She had said, she pulling her chin away from his fingers.
"It's one thing to kiss, it's another to make me feel caged and powerless like that.." She said and then quickly walked into the parlor and closing the door, a bit loudly.
An after a few minutes she had whimpered and started to cry, her two forearms on either side of her head as she hung it and sobbed. Her body shaking slightly remembering everything from the night her gang was killed, and Sebastian's actions.
"Welcome to my sho-. Glass? What's the matter?" Undertaker went from happily and bubbly self to concerned and worried really quickly, his arms going around her shortly after he pulled her and turned her away from the door as he hid her face into his shoulder.
"Undertaker?" She had asked him, and he had nodded and gently rubbed her head softly.
"Yes, it's me. It's me." Even his voice changed.
She had whimpered and held onto him tightly, and he responded by holding her just as firmly, his nails going into her hair and trying to relax her.
"I can't, I can't do this..." She had whimpered and he had shook his head, rubbing his cheek against her head softly.
"Sh, Sh Sh, hush now. Sh, a lady mustn't cry like this, especially you. Sh Sh." He cooed to the young lady, knowing the butler must have done something to her, who else would it have been? She can handle thugs and things, so it had to have been him.
"I want my Daddy..." she had said softly, like a small, innocent child and Undertaker felt his undead heart twist. He knew that this was finally sinking in for her, she was alone, and had no one to give her love too.
"Red, how about you stay with me for a few days hm? I can send a message to the Lord Earl and say you need it, I don't want you going back there while your this broken, not now.." He had said softly before gently pulling her away from his chest and holding her cheeks, whipping the tears away slowly.
Without any hesitation she nods fast.
"Please.." She had begged him to which he smiled and softly kissed her forehead.
"Come, let get you something to eat and change into, I have a few robes that I'm
sure you can snuggle into." Undertaker spoke, going to make tea and lunch for her, since after all, he didn't need to eat, she did however, and she needed someone who understood how she operated. She was a complex human but, not so complex it wasn't impossible to understand her.
~~~~
After a little while she was fed and then dressed into one of his robes, modified to fit her tiny frame, a hood added to make her feel more comfortable.
"How are you feeling? Cozy?" Undertaker had asked her after a while, he lifting her face by holding her cheeks, even lowering the hood to see her.
She smiled softly and then nodded her head softly.
"Mhm. Much better, thank you.." She had said softly, however it was laced with a lie.
"Red, your a very terrible liar, you know that." He had said to her, he kneeling down before her still holding her cheeks, she looking away ashamed.
"I came here to both get away and, and learn why I was brought here, Undertaker, I'm ready, I'm ready to know." She had said softly, she once again looking for his eyes.
He had smiled softly and then gently rubbed his thumbs under her eyes, wiping the non existent tears.
"You see, during this time, a man who was related to your dear mother made a deal with a Grim Reaper, the Grim Reaper I should say, that one day when the time was right, one of his bloodline was to be spared and given to him to do as he wished. This Grim Reaper decides that you should protect the Lord Earl from-." She interrupted.
"Sebastian..." She had muttered his name, her eyes sinking to the floor.
She processing everything.
"I'm, basically the Grim Reapers toy?" She had asked.
"No no no, not Toy. More like, chosen warrior." He had replied to her softly, brushing her bangs away from her eyes once again, staring into her red pools.
"But, the two of us, this monster inside me, she said she meet him, she won't tell me anything, only Sebastian.." She said meeting his bangs.
"That I do not know, but, is that satisfactory for information now?" He had asked her softly.
She had nodded softly and then leaned forward, hugging Undertaker softly, to which he did so in return, to quickly but she didn't mind it to much, his was gentle and warm, comfortable, no hidden evil in his arms.
Undertaker wanted to just tell her how he felt, tell her everything about being here, however, it wouldn't be as easy, for now all he could do was hold the truth a bit longer.
"You should get some rest Red, it's getting late." He had said trying to pull away but she remained latched, and he smiled, gently picking her up and carrying her upstairs to his bedroom, knowing that she wanted to sleep beside him, as she did when she was younger.
"Your to damn cute for the world aren't you Glass?" He had asked her as he set her down, and then covered her body with the covers before removing his top cloak and boots, hat and then laid down beside her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close, just like her father would do when he'd lay beside her.
"I promise, no more harm will come to you again." Undertaker whispered, gently kissing the top of her head.
