Chapter Five : His Thug; Pretty in Crimson
It was near what the Earl called 'The Season' which according to him it was the time of year from May to August, when Aristocrats and people of the country side come into London.
She had not a care in all honesty, it had been weeks since her training as a lady was over, months since all of her wounds had healed, scarred over and faded.
Now it was easy to see she was the bodyguard to the Queen's Guard Dog.
For now however she stood in the study, flipping through pages in a book Ciel had given to her after he had finished reading it, as she would do.
"Young Master," The butler known as Sebastian Michaelis, or more commonly known to the lass was Sebby or Raven, he could always tell depending on the mood she was in.
"Yet more letters for you have arrived today." He had said, gently setting the tied up stack of letters before the young boy on his mahogany desk.
"The season is nearly over, damned idlers. Yet they're all in search of guests for silly balls.. Nothing good ever happens in London."
The lass with eyes of bloody red, and hair of the same shade cracked a smile, hearing her master speak so lowly of those who seek the wallflowers attention.
"Some social interaction is good for you Lord Ciel," The female had spoke up before turning to meet her masters blue eye.
"It's healthy."
Ciel had hmped as he always did when Red had made a valid point, and he knew she was right.
Even after all this time with them she had calmed and relaxed, she was much more open then before, still, they still didn't know the full story of her life, her life beyond there knowledge.
"If I go through them and make a list of the denied and the approved will that satisfy you?" Ciel asked with a cheeky retort.
Red smiled a closed eyed smile.
"But if course my Lord." She had said with a silly child's voice and even bowed before straightening and smiling to him.
"I hate you sometimes." Ciel retorts.
"Better sometimes then always."
He huffed before making, more so demanding Sebastian to make the lists.
He began announcing names and dates, she zoning out and flipping back through the book in her hand.
After a while she hears,
"This is..."
Which means, it was the first case to be solved for the lass, which means, the Queen herself is counting on them.

"So where is the town house?" The lass had asked Sebastian as they sat in the carriage, Ciel looking off into the crowds of people.
"It's a little ways into London, not very far." Sebastian explained which resulted in Red Wing nodding her head once in understanding.
"It has been a while since the Young Master last came to the Town House." Sebastian retorted after the carriage had stopped and made his way out of the carriage, assisting Ciel then the girl out.
"I wouldn't even be here if not for "that letter"... There are so many people, you can't even walk properly." Ciel had responded to Sebastian.
Then they had began their way inside.
"It may prove a nice respite for you to leave the manor sometimes. Those four are nowhere to be found here, so you will be able to spend your days in peace." Sebastian had said.
Her find instantly went to Finny, Bard, Mey-Rin and Mr. Takana, an they acted upon their exit if the manor.
Sebastian opened the sitting room door, and inside was a woman cloaked in Red digging through the cabinets, speaking out.
"Good Heavens, where do they keep the tea in this house?"
Between her and the messy sitting room was a male crotched down practically shoving his head into a vase, he appeared to be Chinese, however through Sebastian's shoulder she could quite tell.
"I don't see it anywhere." He had bellowed in return to the female.
In the back of the room appeared to be another figure, another butler with a bow, big and bright tying his maroon hair back.
"Madame Red? Lau? What are you doing here?" Ciel had called out practically stepping into the side of Sebastian.
The woman in red, which my process of elimination which was Madame Red had responded, "Oh! You got here rather quickly."
Sebastian had motioned for Red Wing to step into the room, which she did, and stood directly behind Ciel, her guard up, however she didn't show it.
"Oh, Ciel who's this?" Asked Madame Red who stepped closer to investigate.
Quickly Red had stood between Madame Red and Ciel, her eyes meeting Madame's.
"Red, it's alright, she's my Aunt, she won't hurt me, nether will Lau." Ciel had said softly, gently pulling her back by the crease in her elbow.
"Forgive me Sir, let me introduce them properly," Sebastian gently gestures to Madame Red.
"This is Angelina Dalles, it more commonly known as Madame Red, she's employed at the Royal London Hospital." Sebastian had explained.
"I've come to see my lovely nephew, who told me he was making his way to London." She explained herself.
Sebastian then motioned to Mr. Lau.
"This is Mr. Lau, he's a British Branch Manager, and the owner of the Chinese Trading Company "Kong Rong"."
Mr. Lau then spoke.
"Why, Hello, Lord Earl. I heard rumours that something of interest is afoot."
Red had slowly relaxed and stepped back towards Ciel's left side, behind him, looking away slightly.
"We apologize for not being able to greet our honorable guests. I will have elevenses ready momentarily, so please wait a while, Miss Glass, come with me please." Sebastian had said to her.
"Coming," An slowly, with a bit of regret she follows Sebastian towards the guest kitchen.

"Here," Sebastian handed Red Wing a cup of caramel tea, which always calmed her down.
"You can't be so quick to defend the Master, part of it was my fault for not properly introducing their presence upon arriving, for that I apologize."
Red shook her head.
"I just, didn't feel right about the Madame, I didn't like, the way she looked at him, at Ciel, I have a bad feeling, and I am never wrong, I never have been when my instincts get involved.." Red spoke softly and honestly.
Sebastian had eyed her wearily.
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind, but it's best you finish your cup, before we return into the sitting room, we have much to go over." He had said to her, gently brushing her bangs back to look her directly into her eyes.
She nodded her head once.
"What a lovely aroma. Especially when prepared correctly." Said Madame.
"Today, the tea is Jackson's "Earl Gray." Sebastian had said in response.
Madame took a sip, her eyes widened a small amount.
"Earl Grey can taste this different? Grell you should follow his example." She spoke to the butler which lingered to her right.
"Y-Yes.." He said meekly.
Red Wing had a bad feeling about Grell as well, however she couldn't place how or why, as the same to Madame Red, it was odd.
"In any case..," Madam spoke once again.
"...you are the most handsome fellow, no matter how many times I look at you! Why don't you come to my place instead of working at a manor house?" She even presumed to pay his behind a few times, Red could feel the warmth in her cheeks, she quickly fiddling with her bangs to hide her embarrassment of seeing something like that.
"Ahem! Madame Red.." Ciel spoke up after a few seconds.
"Ah! I'm sorry I just couldn't help myself." Madame had responded.
"Let's get right down to it.. a few days ago, a prostitute was killed in Whitechapel." Spoke Ciel.
"Ah, that incident the papers have been making a fuss over, yes? I know if it." Madame spoke with a smile smile as she propped her head up with her elbow.
"But... there must be something more to it since you're here." Lau spoke.
Red had looked to her Master, she crossing her arms over her chest, awaiting to hear the details herself, now even still, it sounded familiar, it almost sounded... no, the dates lined up, nearly perfectly.
"Yes, this is no simple murder. It is psychotic... better yet, abnormal. That's what concerns "her"." Ciel had spoke up beginning to make his way towards the cake before him.
"What do you mean?" Grell had asked this time.
"The victim, Mary Ann Nichols... was ripped to shreds with some sort of specialized cutting instrument." Sebastian had spoken up.
After putting a piece of cake into his mouth and devouring it Ciel responded.
"An the city police and the local prostitutes have dubbed him... "Jack the Ripper"." Ciel responded.
Red froze, she was right, then again in her time, Jack the Ripper's true identity was never discovered, they didn't even find out who caused the deaths, that left little hope for her to solve this case, however, if it was if the underworld, that would mean..
She looked to Sebastian, he giving her a look, a 'soon' look.
He didn't want her to burst out things and babel on about her time, it was a dangerous thing for many people to know, well, people it affected.
"I too hurried to London to verify the situation." Ciel had responded.
A chuckle escaped Lau, a lone and quiet chuckle.
"And I too am very curious... to see what the Queen's Watchdog will sniff out. However, have you the courage to gaze upon the scene of the crime?"
There was a hint of silence.
"What are you getting at?" Ciel spoke up, Lau had then rise from his chair, causing Red to go stiff, she once again alert and ready.
'They won't hurt him, they won't hurt him.' She muttered to herself, she gripping her wrist tightly, her nails drawing blood.
"The darkness and bestial odour that saturates the scene will eat away at those with the same karma. You may be trapped in madness should you set foot there. Are you prepared... for that..," He reaches out and caressed the boys cheek.
"Earl Phantomhive?" He finished with a sly smirk.
Sebastian kept us gaze locked on me, hoping I wouldn't pounce.
"I am here to eliminate the source of "Her" distress. Do not waste my time with your worthless questions." Ciel practically snapped back.
"-Yes Lovely. Very lovely indeed, those eyes of yours." Lau then quickly yanked the boy to his feet.
"Well since that's been decided, let's be off, Lord Earl!" Lau called out.
"Now Wait!" Madame and I practically spoke at the same time.
"Really! Men have no patience! At least relax and finish your tea. Then I'll join you too. So where is the crime scene, Lau?" Madame then asked.
"Did you not know... Madame?"
"You were babbling on when you didn't even know yourself?" Madame snapped out in a rage.
"Well I never, then I suppose we'll have to ask someone around here." Lau responded with a sigh.
"Quiet down," Ciel spoke up.
"No one said we were going to the crime scene."
Madame and Lau looked utterly confused, Red however smiled and then gently stood behind her Master, fixing his clothing.
"We wouldn't be able to do much anyway because the place is already full of spectators. And the yard won't take kindly to me going there either." Ciel had responded.
He then looked over his shoulder to Red.
"That'll be a task for you later Red."
"Sir." Red responded with a smile.
"Your sending a lady to the crime scene? Ciel dear is that wise?" Asked Madame looking to Red with concern.
Ciel smiles and nodded.
"Believe it or not but Red is a very important attribute to this case, she knows her way around things." Ciel had said.
"Then what do you plan to do? About us getting information on the case?" Asked Madame.
"My Lord... Don't tell me.." Lau spoke.
"Yes, That's right. I'd like to avoid it myself but that isn't an option. He is the most reliable source of information regarding crimes like this." Ciel spoke.
Red was a bit nervous now.
"Does that mean I'll be meeting the accomplice to Ciel?" She muttered to Sebastian softly.
"Yes, and believe me when I say, he's rather, odd."
