Okay, so I'm prone to dramatics if ya'll didn't already know that now you do. 

I have already completed a primary tally of votes to determine the general ranking.  I Have narrowed down definite contenders for the first place ranking, which I will reread again and make decisions based on the criteria of the prompt that I set and my judgement of basically whether I was entertained or not.  

There will be a surprise award because...well...it's my birthday.  This award is just a little token to a story that I feel has great potential but maybe didn't receive as many votes as its contenders. 

It shall be the coveted "Elf Friend" Prize.

And, it marks the special honour that Elves bestow on individuals from other races that they have deemed a friend to their kin.  Which, by middle earth standards, was a huge honour.  It should make you walk a little taller, with a spring in your step, and happy glow to your heart.
