Penumbra
Penumbra is a first-person horror series that Briar wanted me to play. He got me the first game and I tied to play but because I had a hard time with the game I gave up and got rid of it. I had a problem with the resolution. Briar told me he could stream these games on Steam, and I can watch while he plays from home so we would do that on Mondays. After I broke up with him, we stopped for a while and then we were supposed to do a stream after we had agreed to be friends again and hopefully get back together. But he yelled at me just before we could so we didn't, and we stopped talking until we became friends again but this time with no or very very little chance we could get back together. The Monday before his birthday I asked to do a stream and he was happy to do it again with me. That time he showed me "The secrets of Monkey Island".
Then the Monday before my birthday we had another stream, and we finished the second Penumbra game. There are three games in the series. I should ask him if he would stream the third game for me if he have it. I'm surprise he didn't mention it before.
These games are so creepy. In the first one "Overture" there were spiders which I am afraid of and there were demonic dogs that reminded me of Cujo. Briar never heard of Cujo before until I mentioned it to him. "Cujo" is a book written by Stephen King and is a movie. It's about a St. Benard that was bitten by a bat and gotten wrabies and was attacking people. That was a great Stephen King movie.
Most of the game is solving puzzles and creeping around the dungeon. The second game (The one we finished last week) was "Penumbra: Black Plague." In this game the main character you been playing, Philip has a tap worm in his brain and there are zombies. No more evil dogs or spiders. The tap worm's name was Clarence, and he will try to mess with you.
The third game is "Requiem". I haven't got that game yet so maybe next month I could ask if we could do that. Since we are broken up and we are back to being gaming friends, I think it would be best for my mental health to do these streams ones a month instead of weekly like we used to. Just trying to keep him at a distance until I am ready to fully embrace him as a friend that I would want to hang out on a somewhat regular basis.
From what I saw of these games I really like them and were into it. It's a shame I couldn't fix the resolution on my laptop for the first game, but I think even if I were able to, I wouldn't be able to handle the puzzles. I'm not a puzzle person anyways like Briar. That's his thing, not mine. If you are good at figuring out these puzzles, then this is a game for you. I am glad we are still friends. We were together for a whole year before I realized that we just weren't a match. But I still want us to stay friends because of all these games he got me into. I like talking about them with him as well as watch some games he plays. I don't know if I will ever get to the point where I am comfortable in going over to his house again to play games in person since I know what his family think of me after we had broken up. I defiantly would love to get to the point where he could come over to my house and he can help me with the games I need help with that I got rid of like for instance "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion." I would like to get back into that game or even try "Fall Out New Vagas" again. But things take time.
I just wanted to start written reviews of these games that I either have or tried to play or watch him play over the past year and tell people my thoughts on these games and what they are about.
