Regrets

Taehyung woke up by the sound of Jungkook getting up from bed.

"W-what happened last night..." Jungkook's quiet but raspy voice trembled. His eyes wide with worry.

"Uh..."

Jungkook gasped in realization. "ShIT.... oh no no no." The boy buried his face in the pillows. "This is a mistake... I shouldn't have done that..."

Taehyung's chest hurt the second the boy said that. He honestly felt that there was something to that kiss last night... or was it just Jungkook's reckless and drunk self acting? Either way, Taehyung had to admit that it was irresponsible of him to kiss the younger while the little one was drunk.

Jungkook stumbled out of bed, grabbing his outdoor clothes to change. During so, the boys avoided eye contact with the older.

Taehyung sighed, still sitting in bed processing what just happened. He finally had the chance to confess his love to the boy. Just when he thought he could have the younger in his arms... when he thought Jungkook actually felt the same way as he did, the younger declined him...

The older sighed as he went to brush his teeth. Hopefully, things will clear up later on. Suddenly, Jungkook poked his head in the bathroom, which scared the shit out of Taehyung. The older dropped his tooth brush. "GAH."

"Oop- sorry, Tae."

"Do you not realize the door is closed and hence the possibility that I might be taking a shower or a shit?" Taehyung snapped, tightening his grip on his toothbrush.

"S-Ssorry!" Jungkook stuttered, slamming the door closed. Taehyung internally blamed himself, knowing that he shouldn't have been so harsh on the kid.

"Kook, come back silly. What were you gonna tell me?" The older used a softer tone. He honestly found Jungkook a little cute that way. Especially when his eyes round up in fear... "Is it something urgent to the point where you hAd to intrude my bathroom time?"

Jungkook's face flushed, playing with his fingers. "Sort of."

Taehyung raised his eyebrows, waiting for the boy to continue.

"Y-yoongi called. He said we gotta go anytime soon."

"Alright. Be ready in 5 minutes." The older continued brushing his teeth, though he couldn't help but feel the atmosphere between them go awkward all over again.

"So, a right turn on the next traffic light?" Sejin asked from the drivers seat, looking at the boys through the back mirror.

"Yup. That's the one." Taehyung answered before going into an awkward silence.

"I'm sorry." Jungkook's quiet voice squeaked.

"About what."

"Intruding your ... bathroom time earlier." Jungkook mumbled, looking away embarrassingly.

Taehyung tried his best not to overreact to the boy's humble self, though he found it dying adorable. "It's fine. I shouldn't have snapped at you earlier too." The older checked his pockets, only to find out that... "Oh, shit. I forgot my gun."

Jungkook rolled his eyes, holding up Taehyung's gun.

Taehyung couldn't help but smile as he rustled the boy's hair. "Thank you, Kookie."

The younger couldn't help but boast. "Y'know I'm always a step ahead of you." He winked. The boy fuckin' winked.

Taehyung scoffed quietly in disbelief. A chuckled escaped Taehyung's lips, "You are impossible."

"Impossible like that game you programmed..." Jungkook mumbled under his breath, though Taehyung caught those words perfectly.

"Hah, knew you were lying when you said the game was cool."

Taehyung sensed the irritation rise in Jungkook's tone. "Was there even a friggin' way to beat that boss level?"

"Yeah. A secret way out as I like to call it."

"Secret?" Jungkook's eyes rounded in curiosity, though determined to win.

"I was supposed to program the game unbeatable, as my boss instructed me. Though, I believe that everyone has a chance to succeed in life if you try hard enough. So I made a secret route."

"God damn it, Tae. Then tell me h- actually... don't tell me how." Jungkook side eyed the older, sticking out a tongue. "I'll figure it out myself, you asshole game maker. I always win."

"Ooh, someone's aggressive." The older cocked his eyebrow, fascinated by Jungkook's determination. It was something Taehyung had always admired the boy, even when he tried saving his ass earlier without plan.

Taehyung thanked Sejin for the ride before getting off his car with Jungkook. The two arrive at what seems to be Namjoon's house, which was rather small and plain but reasonable considering that he used to live here by himself.

The older rang the doorbell, which Jin answered with a smile. "Taehyung, Jungkook!"

The boys followed Jin to the living room. "Uh, there's something I should tell you first though..." Jin cautiously said as they headed to the room. At first glance, Taehyung saw the boys' faces seemingly weak and tired from the low living conditions. Thought he couldn't help but notice someone missing...

"Where's Jimin?" Taehyung blurted, eyes wide.

"He fuckin' chickened out at the last minute." Yoongi barked from the sofa, which seemed like he was sitting on it for a while. The rest of the boys looked helplessly at the raven haired, who Taehyung saw was in the worst state.

Jin nudged at Taehyung, scowling while lowering his voice. "WOW, Taehyung! Should've mentioned thAT in front of Yoongi. He's literally been pissed off about that all day."

"Jimin chickened out?" Jungkook whispered, peeking at Yoongi.

"The second before we jumped on the train, Jimin changed his mind and didn't jump with us. We thought he didn't want to risk betraying the boss and getting caught."

"Coward." Yoongi spat, clearly listening to their whispers. "He didn't even answer any of our texts or calls. Now he's making himself become an easy target. I bet you the boss will interrogate him for our fuckin' location. Just great, huh."

"Stop it with that attitude, Yoongi." Jin suddenly blurted in anger. "It's not his fault he's afraid. Please, have some empathy for your own boyfriend for shit sake, Min fuckin' Yoongi."

"He's not my boyfriend. And all our plan is ruined because of him."

Namjoon slammed the table, baggy eyed. The boys in the living room dropped in dead silence. Jungkook had never seen Namjoon so irritated and exhausted before. "Will you guys stop. Right now is not the time to fight with each other." The leader shifted his glance to Taehyung and Jungkook. "We need to think about our next step while we have Taehyung and Jungkook with us."

Yoongi shrugged, walking off to the bedroom like it was none of his business. Namjoon sighed, his eyes glaring at Yoongi.

"Yoongi's right though. We gotta move quickly now that the boss probably knows our location." Taehyung pointed out.

Namjoon buried his face in his hands. "Yeah. I was considering moving to Australia. All of us."

Taehyung tensed. "What? So we're just gonna completely leave Jimin behind? When he could possibly die in the boss's hands?"

"I'm not leaving my father either. He can possibly be a threat to the boss too!" Jungkook added.

"Well I-"

Taehyung shook his head in disbelief. "Namjoon, we can't leave Jimin nor Jungkook's father behind. I know what the boss does to people. I've been there before. And if it wasn't Jungkook who tried to save me... I could've died."

Jin looked at Namjoon, worried. "But we can't risk going back there again."

"You're both right. Just let me rethink this. We'll have another meeting in an hour." Namjoon stood up, messing his hair in thought as he left the living room. Jin nodded, letting himself relax on the couch. The entire atmosphere went cold with the group of boys contradicting each other. Everything was just... so different from what Taehyung had imagined meeting them would be like.

Taehyung glanced at Jungkook, who's body was tense as if he was scared. He massaged the younger's shoulder. "I'm sure Namjoon will do something about your father." Taehyung said. "At the meantime, rest a bit."

The older brought Jungkook to the couch, next to Jin. Jin glanced at the two with a slight smirk. "Glad to see you two back. We've got a lot to catch up about you two."

"Perhaps, when we're all settled down." Taehyung chuckled, side eyeing Jungkook. Jungkook blushed in embarrassment. After all, he was the one who rejected Yoongi's warnings and recklessly tried to save Taehyung. It was clearly a bad plan that Jungkook barely thought through, though they were insanely lucky to have both survived. And... Taehyung honestly thought it was quite brave and sweet of him.

"Well, I'll be helping Namjoon out." Jin got up from the sofa, heading off to wherever Namjoon went. Which... Taehyung clearly knew was to avoid Jungkook a bit. All of them were. Especially since Jungkook recently found out that they were all voluntarily robbing from his father. Of course, he knew that Jungkook had internally forgiven them. But it made sense for the boys to still feel bad for the kid. Poor Jungkook... plus adding the fact that his

Just then, the older widened his eyes. "Right. You said your father and his company was attacked by the boss's men while you were stealing the bank passcode?"

"Yeah? So?"

"They could have kidnapped your father and asked him for the passcode instead."

Jungkook looked away from Taehyung, in thought. "No. If they could they would've done that at the very beginning. But I figured... since my father is literally one of the richest people in Korea... he would have the power to end my mother if he knew she was trying to rob from him."

Taehyung nodded his head in understanding. "Ah. Hence, your mother used you... your father's soft spot... to get his money. That does make sense... but then what if the boss's men got back to your father's workplace for his code?"

"My father wouldn't have remembered a code that long. And they wouldn't have found it in his desk either." Jungkook flashed a smirk, holding up the paper with the code and a phone that seemed to be his father's.

"You-" Taehyung stuttered, amazed. "When did you...?"

"Y'know I'm always a step ahead of you."

"Oh, shut up." Taehyung threw a pillow at the boy, which smacked at his face.

"That's it, you're doomed!" Jungkook threw the pillow back at Taehyung while grabbing more to throw at. Taehyung dodged the pillow as he playfully ran out the living room to the kitchen. Jungkook followed along, with two pillows in his hand. "I always win, Tae! There's no use running!"

Suddenly, the older pounced from the kitchen, tackling the younger to the floor. "Hey!" Jungkook squeaked, feeling Taehyung's body on top of his, pillows scattered on the floor. Taehyung's faces uncomfortably close to his. However, neither Taehyung nor Jungkook moved away from each other.

As a result, Taehyung went for his gut and kissed the boy's soft lips.

Gently pinning Jungkook to the floor, he felt the younger gently kiss back. A fire warming in his chest, hundreds of stars glowing in his head. His brain spinning in delight, wanting for more. His lips traveled down Jungkook's lips to his chin, to his neck, planting kisses along the way. The younger squirmed under the boy's lips in nervousness, though by his heavy pants and lip bites Taehyung could tell he was forcing himself from moaning in pleasure.

It wasn't long before Taehyung felt a heartbreaking push from the younger, getting up. Taehyung no longer saw the love in the boy's eyes... but instead filled with regret.

"Taehyung... I think... we should stop with this..."
