I still couldn't believe what Donna had done for me. I picked up my cracked phone and called her.

"Aphmau?!" I heard her son from the other end.

"Hey Donna, listen, you didn't have to do that for me...."

"Woah! You have a boyfriend!"

I listened as she hung up. I slowly lowered the phone from my ear only to hear a small DING!
It was Katelyn.

K: hey Aph, I know you don't want to rlly talk to anyone rn, but do you think you could help me?

A: yeah, what do u need?

K: oh thank Irene your alive! Anyways, do u think u could help me do some research on mayor Scarph?

A: sure!

K: email me what you find!

A: np!

I opened up my laptop and looked him up.

The Scarph is a popular singing YouTuber who creates songs about his life experiences.

I opened up YouTube and typed in The Scarph. 70 results appeared.

I clicked on the first video and plugged in my head phones.

What if in real life was more like game time, moving days would go by, Tetris piece shaped boxes always spin.

I checked out the rest of his videos and took notes for Katelyn. I reached the phone to text her when it rang.

"Aphmau!" Katelyn panicked from the other end.

I jerked the phone away from my ear so as not to go deaf.

"Yes Katelyn?"

"Mayor Scarph is gone!"

"So? He has a life you know, it's like he's in jail or anything..."

"That's exactly it! He was supposed to go to trial today!"

"I'll help search for him!"
Before Katelyn could refuse I hung up and ran to get dressed.

I ran as fast as I could into the alley and out of sight.

Whew! I think I lost them!

The Phoenix Drop police consider me a wanted fugitive. Apparently everyone in my town mysteriously dying except for me makes me a murderer.

I thought I was safe in the alley, until a dark figure emerged from the shadows.
She had Raven black hair and a familiar face.

"Aaron?!" She yelled to me.

"Aphmau?!" I knew I was in trouble now. "What are you doing here?! You have to leave right now, you're in danger around me!"

"Why do you care?" She smirked.

I instantly bit my tongue. She really seemed to like making people eat their words.

"I-I don't!" I blushed. "It's just... You remind me of someone I once loved very much....."

"Oh, I'm sorry...."

"Well! You need to come with me!" She suddenly perked up.

"Eh? Oh! Nope!" I bolted out of the alley and strait towards the Thorntons.
The police were waiting for me there.

My phone rang.

"Hello?!" I answered.

"Katelyn! We got him!" Aphmau's voice cheered from the other end.

"Yay! Good job, you may go home now."

"No way! I wanna see how this is gonna turn out!"

She hung up before I could say no.
That's Aphmau for you. Always diving into things without even once thinking it through.

I walked over to the nearest sherif car and knocked on the window.
Laurence Miteli, the sherif of Miteli (I know it's confusing...), rolled down the window and glared at me.

"What's with the face?!"

"Aphmau slapped me...." He growled.

"Let me guess, you were hitting on her again?"

"W what?!??!?! No!!! I gave Castor her phone number and now she hates me. Oh, don't tell her this, but I have her number to Chad too!" He snickered.

I punched him in the nose.

"Hey! I could arrest you for that!!!" He shouted.

"I know, but you won't."

"........You know me too well.........."

I laughed and walked away, still feeling Laurence's glare on my back.
