"Mommy?" Levin said as we walked home.

"Yes, sweetie?"

"Is daddy a bad man?"

I froze. How could he think that? Was it because he was in jail? My mind was racing.

"Mommy?" He tugged on my shirt. "Are you okay?"

I snapped back to reality.
"Yes levin, I'm fine...." We started walking again. "Daddy is not bad, don't worry, he didn't do anything wrong and he's not going anywhere."

"Oh, okay, I just heard some kids at daycare talking about a bad man that looks just like daddy..."

"Huh? What did they say about him?"

"That he hurts a lot of people and makes them sleep for a long time."

I tried to act as calm inside but inside my heart was pounding right out of my chest.
"Don't worry Levin, daddy's not bad, but, some bad people did things to daddy and that's why he isn't at home with us, remember when I couldn't come home because I was hurt and you got to come visit me?"

"Yeah! When we met the doctor!"

"Yes, it's kind of like that except, the bad people did bad things and then made it look like daddy did it, so a lot of people don't like him because they think he's bad. Understand?"

Levin made his thinking face and then replied. "I think so?"

"Good, but don't worry, he'll be home soon."

Please Aaron, stay safe, come home to us soon, for Levin's sake.
