Part two

"You awake, honey?" A femine voice said. Laverne's eyes snapped open only to see what looked like a nurse with long curly blonde hair, and beautiful hazel eyes. Laverne sat up and scanned her surroundings. She was in an all white room, and the bed was extreamly uncomfortable that she was laying on. "Um...what am I doing in here. Wait, where the heck am I?" Laverne said in a daze.
The nurse laughed. "You're at the state mental hospital. You had a little episode at school. You're alright sweetheart. One moment, okay? I need to get Dr. Rundè for you. Stay here." The nurse opened the door of the room and quietly closed it.
"State mental hospital?" Laverne questioned herself outloud. Then, all the memories rushed back to her; about Peyton...and what Laverne did to her...a few seconds later, a well dressed man came into the room. Laverne sat up. "Hello! You must be Laverne, right? Laverne Baker? I'm Dr. Rundè." Dr. Rundè greeted.
"Hello...okay...so why the world am I here." Laverne asked. Dr. Rundè sat down in the chair next to the bed Laverne was laying in. "If you haven't heard already from the nurse that was in here, or you have previous memories, you had a huge mental episode at your school. Let me explain a few things. Heh, do you want the good news or the bad news first?" Dr. Rundè asked.
"Good news." Laverne replied. "Well good news is, the girl you injured at school is okay. She had to get stiches on her right arm though, from your stab mark. She had a little bit of ink posioning as well, but the state hospital treated her. So thats the good news." Dr. Rundè slapped his hands down on his knees.
"And the bad news?" Laverne asked. Dr. Rundè sighed. "Unfortunatly Laverne, you are a diagnosed schizophrenic. We took some brain scans, and the results matched up to schizophrenic brain waves. Tell me, have you heard any voices since you woke up?"
Laverne gripped the blanket. "I am not crazy. And no, I have not." Laverne hissed. "Well that's good. The new medication must be working that we gave you." Dr. Rundè smiled. "Medication?! What did you guys give me??" Laverne yelled. "I need you to calm down Laverne. Its perfectly safe, for a 16 year old like you." Dr. Rundè reasured. Laverne layed back down.
"I am not insane. There's no way I'm schizophrenic. I am definatly not that! I am not mentally ill!" Laverne retorted. "Relax, dear." Dr Rundè said while closing his eyes. "Where are my parents?" Laverene started crying. "They filled out some paper work, and they're okay. You will be staying here for a 10 day observation period." Dr. Rundè grinned once again. "You'll be okay, I promise. We just want to see if you're okay to go to school again and to interact with other people." Laverne put her hands to her head. "This is INSANE. There's-"I need to check up with some other patients. Just relax for now. I'll be back in 45 minutes." Dr. Rundè shut the door.
Laverne curled up in the fetile position and cried herself to sleep. What felt like hours later, she felt a light shake on her side. A different nurse this time was here. Short curly brown hair, dark eyes...she was very small. Her hands felt like feathers brushing up against her. "Sweetie, its time for interaction session. Come on now, I'll guide you to our room." The nurse's voice sounded so fragile, it could fall apart at any moment it seemed like. Laverne got out of the bed, and the nurse put her hand on Laverne's shoulder and guided down the hallway.
Laverne wiped her messy black bangs out of her face as she entered another pure white room. 3 other people were sitting in a circle. Laverne sat in the empty spot, which she assumed was for her.
A doctor walked in the room, with an eyepatch on his left eye and a scar running down his left cheek. The 3 patients backed up as he sat in the chair that was infront of the completed circle. He smiled at Laverne. "I see we have a new patient. I'm Fauls." Eyepatch said.
"I'm Laverne." She mumbled. Fauls clapped his hands. One of the patients jumped..."All right kids, lets get started. Why don't we start by saying why we're here? Lets start at the end, and go counter clockwise. Go." Fauls laughed. A kid with strange red curly hair stood up. "My name is Henry. I got violent with my baby brother....and he lost his nose and right eye." Henry sat back down. No one said anything. A girl who was much taller than Laverne stood up. "I am Leeah, or better known as the demon swordsmen. Many people say the parallel universe is fake, and that I am not an angel. So...apparently believing in magic is wrong. But Christianity is accepted, right? Pathetic. But-" "Next," Fauls interupted. Demon swordsmen sat down. Everyone looked at the next kid. He had brown hair, and a cute touch to him. "Next!" Fauls said louder. The boy didn't say anything.
Fauls stood up and walked slowly over to the boy. Fauls leaned in his face, about an inch, and said "Talk." The boy stood up. "My name is Jason, and apparantly being gay and very quiet is a mental illness." The boy sat back down. "And lastly, you." Fauls pointed to Laverne. She stood up.
"M-my name is Laverne. And I'm apparently scizophrentic. And...and I stabbed a girl who was bullying me at school with a pen...heh...um..nice to meet you all." Laverne sat back down. Demon swordsmen started clapping first, then Jason, then Henry. "Why am I being applauded? What did I do?" Laverne thought, but she smiled.
"Stop clapping!" Fauls yelled. Everyone stopped immediatley. "So Laverne. Tell us why you stabbed that innocent girl." Fauls squated down to Laverne's sitting postion. "Well...she was bullying me...she's always done that. So, a voice told me to do it, so I did. I couldn't take it anymore." Laverne stated. "I'm so sorry," Demon swordmen said reaching for Laverne's hand. "No touching!" Fauls hit Demon's hand with a miny whip.
"Alright everyone. We thought we'd try something new, and give you guys roomates! Leeah is with Laverne, and Henry with Jason." Fauls explained a few things with everyone and Leeah came back with Laverne to Laverne's room. Leeah moved some of her stuff in and everything seemed to fit in perfectly.
By the time eveyone was comfortable, it was 9:30. A strict bedtime at the hospital. Laverne was getting in bed, when she saw Leeah underneath her covers, like a big lump. "You okay, Demon swordsmen?" Laverne asked. "Yeah. Just finishing my meditations and mental sacfrices to the Japanese god, Jashin. Well, goodnight!" Leeah chirped.
It was about 2:30 am, when Laverne woke to screaming and laughing. "What the? Why is there screaming? And laughing? Whatever, just go back to sleep." Laverne thought.
Unfortunatly, the screaming and laughing continued. "I need to check this out." Laverne thought as she crept out of bed. She made her way over to the metal door and turned the knob. It was open! "This is so weird...why is it open?" Laverne was puzzled.
She followed the noises, and they led her to a huge black door. The screaming and laughing stopped, and it was silent. "Just do it." She thought. She placed her hand on the ice cold doorknob and turned. What she saw, was terrifying. Hundreds of bloody cages were placed in the humongus storage room. There, in the middle stood Fauls, standing over the body of Dr. Rundè.
"Hi." Was all he said. Then, he rushed towards Laverne. She then too, rushed down the empty hallway, and turned the sharp corner. She heard him laughing from a far, but it sounded too close as well. She apporched a flight of stairs and flew up them and almost tripped on the way up.
"God, this thing is a maze!" Laverne thought. Adrenaline pumped threw her body as she was greeted with a dead end hallway. His laughs got closer and closer. "Sh*t!" She thought. Then she noticed a window. That was her escape! She easily opened it and jumped out, only to have landed on hard gravel. She was at the very top of the building. She had no where else to go. She looked over the edge, and saw no cars or street lights at the bottom. Just darkness.
She heard the gravel crackling behind her. She turned around only to see Fauls with a wrench in his hands. "Gotcha!" He laughed and approched her. "I have no choice." She thought as she jumped off the building. "I hope I did you that favor, Peyton." She closed her eyes. This is how she was going to die.
