GAME OVER

Chapter 29 [Loyalty]

~~~~~
Adam stopped falling and was surprised to see Seto, “Damn quit screaming so early in the fucking morning!” Seto paused and tilted his head, “I'm suddenly feeling a sense of deja vu…”
Adam was suspended by magic, slight tears at his eyes and a completely terrified expression.
Seto glanced at him, “Are you crying, you’d think after falling off the side of the ravine a second time you would be used to it...where the fuck is the amulet. You know you won't live without it.”
“I-I know,” Adam stuttered. He raised his shaking head to see the crowd peering and watching him in silence, and then there was Ty. He stared down at Adam with a dark glare but said nothing as Seto floated Adam to the ravine pathway.
“Up you go--”
“No, Seto you don't understand. I can't; Ty is trying to kill me--he killed Jason. You have to believe me, I saw it!” Adam turned to face Seto with pleading eyes. Seto shook his head and sighed.
Adam felt himself rise off the ravine pathway, “H-hey!”
“This will be quicker,” Both he and Seto rose to the bridge where Ty was waiting expectantly.
“Seto…” Ty said, he glanced at Adam who hid behind Seto, though Seto was shorter than Adam so it didn’t do much.
“I figure Adam has been messing around a bit, hasn’t he--”
“Yes, now hand him over, I’m sick and tired of his--”
“Give me a second, have you seen Jason? Adam is saying crazy things about you and Jason, I was just curious since I have a few things to discuss with him.”
Ty didn’t say anything, “Sorry, do you know where he could be? That’s probably a better question.
“No, hand Adam over--” Seto raised his staff and aimed it at Ty. Ty stiffened and shifted slightly but didn’t move to attack.
“Sorry, I just noticed that hand of yours looks a bit...broken. I wonder how it happened, care to enlighten me?” The crowd around began to murmur.
‘Are they going to fight?’
‘What’s going on?’
‘My bet would be on Seto--’
‘Heck no, Ty would wipe the floor with his ass!’
“It’s nothing I can't deal with,” Ty answered
Adam opened his mouth, “Shut it Adam,” Adam closed it as Seto told him.
Seto lowered his staff, he chuckled, not a chuckle of humor or laughter, just a chuckle that had no feeling in it. A simple gesture, “Here,” Seo reached in his cloak with his free hand and tossed Ty a health pot.
Since Ty had only one unbroken hand he instinctively let go of his spear to catch the potion. His spear fell off the bridge down to the bridge below. Seto was quick as he aimed his staff once more at Ty, this time Ty only had one little glass potion in one hand and the other broken hand could do nothing.
“Should I ask again? Where’s Jason?”
Ty glared, he gritted his teeth, glanced at Adam then at the crowd. He hissed in frustration his eyes flickered over Seto, Ty’s tall figure raised the arm with the broken hand and smacked Seto’s staff. A stray blast of magic shot into the sky and Ty took the moment to spring over the edge of the bridge to the bridge below. The impact would normally break several bones in a person’s body and Adam heard the crack of said bones.
Adam leaned over the edge of the railing and gasped as he saw Ty drink the contents of the potion, his injuries healing themselves before picking up his spear.
Seto cursed.
“If you want to know where Jason is, I’ll tell you!” Ty yelled, “But first, tell me where you’ve taken the child!”
“You scumbag!” Seto roared.
The crowd gasped as Seto launched himself over the bridge but floated. Seto flew to Ty, his staff met Ty’s spear. Seto gritted his teeth, Ty pushed against Seto forcing the sorcerer to fly backwards. Ty then turned and ran across the bridge, his injuries fully healed.
Ty climbed up the ravine and the people on the surface took several steps back in shock as Ty launched himself up the side of the ravine. No point in taking the path if one had arms as strong as his, arms that could pull himself up while holding a spear.
Seto flew to the top to meet Ty who stood in a defensive position. The crowd opened up to offer them more room, people were to shocked to do much of anything as these two men fought.
Adam stood on the bridge, he didn’t know where to go, he was still trying to fully understand everything. It didn’t make sense, if Ty was an Ender then why was this happening? Why was Ty here of all places? The situation itself felt oddly familiar to him, as if something similar had happened before.
“Every get back! Unless you want to get killed do not interfere! Someone go check Jason’s lab find him quickly!” Seto commanded, he rushed Ty and blasted purple balls of fire. Ty swatted the magic away and jabbed his spear aiming for Seto but each attack was deflected. Seto had his hand up to every point Ty tried to stab, in which a temporary shield would appear at that spot.
Seto breathed heavily, magic really did take a lot out of a person.
Ty continued jabbing and moved closer forcing Seto to move back, closer and closer to the ravine. Ty threw in a few swipes trying to catch Seto off guard on his side but Seto continued to block.
Normally Seto could go on for hours with magic, but replenishing his strength for magic took quite a lot of time. Time which he did not have quite yet, not since his last usage of magic, the majority of which was used to slay the Ender Dragon. So Seto was running on fumes.
“Tell me Ty! Why are you doing this!”
“Why?” Ty narrowed his eyes, “Because I was ordered to.”
“By who--”
“You don’t need to know!” Ty yelled, he slammed his spear into Seto’s side. Seto yelled out in pain as he was flung several feet, his staff fell from his grip and rolled dangerously close to the edge. Seto’s cloak was torn and blood began to seep through.
Seto struggled to push himself up, “No one get any closer!” Seto yelled as he noticed some people try to go and help him.
Ty chuckled, “Your pride will kill you.”
Seto stood up but didn’t wince, “I should remind you that you can’t kill me. I’m still an OP, and OP’s can’t be killed by little spears,” Ty narrowed his eyes.
“Fine, but I’ll make you tell me where you’ve hidden the prince, you Rekrian scum.”
“Blasted Ender,” Seto spat. He wobbled and swayed but remained standing, he eyed his staff that was left of Ty. Adam was also looking at the staff, right now Ty’s back was turned to him and the staff was directly in front of him across the bridge too close to the ravine’s edge. If he could distract Ty, or even get the staff he could help Seto.
“Who knew one of them was right here...though it would explain your adamant nature against anything relating to the End. Trying to protect your cursed home--”
“Don’t talk like you know anything. You Rekrians destroyed everything you know, your greed cause all this happen. Your curse on your land is your own doing, we had nothing to do with it!”
During this time Adam inched closer across the bridge. He glanced nervously, the crowd around the situation could see Adam, but no one said a thing. Adam looked back at Ty and narrowed his eyes.
Adam started to remember why this felt so familiar. He’s died twice and seen or heard four different situations. Two of which were very similar to the situation Ty and Jason were in and the other similar to the situation Ty and Seto were in. But he didn’t understand what it meant, were these sort of premonitions of the future?
Adam wanted to say yes, but it again didn’t make sense, because the recent vision from his last death he could see the shapes of these people. None of them were shaped at all like Ty, Seto or Jason, and everything about them was all wrong in comparison to this situation. Ty didn’t use a sword, Jason didn’t have a stick-wand thing, and Seto sure as the nether didn’t use daggers.
Adam dove for Seto’s staff and nearly fell off the ravine doing so. Ty turned to the noise and noticed Adam he raised his spear to end to human man but Seto dashed over to Ty and grabbed hold of his arms, “Not a chance you oversized freak!”
“Get off!” Ty shook his arms and tried to kicked Seto off. Seto was flung off but not before grabbing hold of Ty's cloak and yanking it off his body, Ty stumbled but remained standing.
“Shit,” Ty placed one hand over his left eye. Removing his cloak prompted a slight change in his appearance, the normal red-brown hair lightened to that of a creamy sort of brown that got whiter the higher up you looked. Both his eyes remained the same ruby red with a thinner pupil, like a snake. There wasn't much difference to his look, but it was obvious he wasn't human.
‘Tyler!’
‘Oh shit, Tyler’s going to join the fight’
‘What side do you think he is on?’
“Notch almighty, what is going on?”
Adam sat up holding Seto’s spear, Ty’s eyes widened a he looked into the crowd, Seto hissed which caught Adam's attention. Seto motioned for Adam to toss him his staff.
“I swear I go and manage the deliveries for one hour and come back to find a gosh darn crowd blocking the bridge to the main side!” Tyler pushed his way through the crowd on the opposite side of the ravine Seto, Ty, and Adam were on. They were on the side where Jason’s lab was, whereas Tyler was on the side of the offices and warehouse.
Adam threw Seto's staff, “No!” Ty saw the act at the last minute, but could do nothing to stop it, he growled and grinded his teeth. He glanced at Seto and then back at Tyler who hadn’t noticed the drastic situation.
“Was there a party I wasn't invited to or something?” Tyler paused as he approached the bridge, he caught sight of Ty and Seto facing off and Adam off to the side. He glanced in confusion at the crowd as if asking someone to explain the situation to him and he opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by Seto.
“Seto! We found no trace of Jason anywhere!” A trainee ran across the field from Jason's lab in a panic. Seto glared.
Ty gritted his teeth as Seto hissed quietly, “Why don't you surrender quietly and stop this before you get yourself killed?”
Ty spat on the ground his lips upturned in a cruel sneer, “Don't make me laugh, I'm done playing nice in this pig pen. My loyalties lie only with my lady. I give her my life.”
Seto growled, “Then die you Ender scum.”
Ty and Seto charged at each other just as Tyler finally realized the situation. He was mid way through crossing the bridge when he saw Ty's spear shatter from the pure force of Seto’s magic. Every splinter blown outwards forcing Adam to bring up his arm to protect himself, he felt wet liquid splatter all over him and when he glanced at it, it was purple.
The one last change that Ty’s appearance went through that could not be seen until now was his blood, which was disguised red, was now purple.
“Ty!” Tyler screamed.
Adam looked up in time to see Ty’s body go flying over the ravine edge, the crowd gasped.
Adam took one look at Seto and saw his cold stare as Ty’s body fell to the bottom, and every time Adam heard the body slam into a bridge he winced. He was too afraid to look at the blood and was scared enough that he had some of it on him.
Tyler on the other hand leapt over the bridge railing.
He disregarded protocol, if he fell with no plan he would break every bone in his body. He wouldn't die, but he would be in pain, but Tyler did not plan to fall with no plan.
Instead, I'll tell you what he said as the wind whipped by him, “Command Fly.”
