Whelp day 2 of mini marathon. :/ I like this chapter....but things happen and well uh enjoy.

Chapter 28 [Curiosity]

Adam clutched his amulet tightly. Seto told him earlier that Jason was expecting him to bring the amulet to his lab this afternoon, and after the ceremony earlier this morning and revealing the big secret to Barney he was beyond tired and stressed. By the way, Barney was surprisingly calm about the whole ordeal. He honestly just said, 'Cools,' before falling back asleep. Perhaps the news hadn't settled into Barney's mind quite yet, so it was possible when he woke for a second time there would be a much bigger response. That he did not know, however.

Adam decided he wasn't ready to leave so he planned to do everything he could to convince Jason to let him stay longer. He was dumb before and he wanted to take back everything he said.

"Oops, sorry," Adam barely dodged a pair of trainees carrying a crate together down the ravine, Adam did his best to move out of their way and let them pass. When the two of them and the crate were safely past Adam walked to the top  of the ravine. He headed straight for Jason's lab.

Adam hardly noticed the absence of people in the area since he was worried about what to say to Jason.

"Ok Adam, just go in and don't be scared or intimidated by the small engineer man. He won't bite...probably."

Adam pushed open the door, his hand clutched the amulet harder, "Ja--"

Adam was interrupted when he heard Jason speak up,  "Oh? Please elaborate."

Elaborate? Elaborate what? He must've come at a bad time. Adam couldn't see what was going on in the lab since he was still in the unlit hallway, Adam turned around fully planning on leaving and coming back later but they he recognized an all too familiar voice.

"I want to know where you took that child, tell me where he is kept."

Adam recognized Ty's voice.

"Child?" Jason snickered before adding, "I'm single Ty, I don't hav--"

Adam jumped but held a hand over his mouth as he heard the sound of glass shattering, "Hey! Watch where you swing that damn spear!" Adam heard the irritated pounding of a metal boot.

Adam inched over to the opening to the lab and peeked around the corner. Ty stood several feet away from Jason but his spear was clutched tightly in his hands. The spear was directly next to Jason who held his arms in a defensive position to his side, the fabric of his sleeves cut enough to reveal metal plates or some sort of shield on his arm.

"I'm not playing any games Jason, tell me where you put him, where have you taken our prince!"

Adam ducked back behind the wall, prince? Their king had only a wife, no children, there was no prince. What child could Ty--Adam's eyes widened. Could Ty be referring to that child from the End, but why?

Adam needed to remain calm, he should do something to stop this madness. Adam slipped the amulet into his pocket.

"And I'm saying," Adam peeked around the wall again and saw Jason push against the spear, "That I don't know what you are referring to you blundering giant! Now get out and bother someone else, I have preparations to d--what the fuck!" Jason screamed as he ducked. Ty snarled and swiped at the air Jason's head was at with his spear.

Ty did not stop this time. He jabbed, swung and swiped, but Jason being small and nimble avoided all attacks.

Why wasn't he moving. He should go tell someone immediately, or jump in and get Ty to stop...ok the last one was probably unwise but he felt compelled to do so anyways.

Jason stopped dodging and like the first time he held up his arms and blocked the swing, the forces pushed him back and almost made him topple, "What a curious situation; is this something you do often? Go around swinging spears at people? It sure caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting an Ender here...or would you rather I call you a Celenian?"

Ty's eyes widened. Where had Adam heard that name before, "How do you know that, you blasted Rekrians erased our existence from your history to hide your sins, how do you know?"

Jason smiled, "Hm, how indeed. There are several answers, one being that I have access to all the memories Seto stores in that headpiece I made him. And every page of the Etoriis he reads I can decipher with ease. I know your history and know your truth, it's the only reason I know of your existences as an Ender....and where to find that dear little prince of yours. Not even Seto knows how I acquired the information."

"Oh!" Adam shouted accidentally, he finally remembered where he had heard the name Celenian, or something like it at least. He remembered it from that vision about Seto. Of course since he was so hard in thought he'd completely missed the rest of what went on between Jason and Ty just a moment ago. Both Jason and Ty were shocked by the sudden and unknown outburst of realization but Jason took this moment to counter as Adam clapped a hand over his mouth in horror.

Jason grinned, "Voice Command. 003."

Jason's hands glowed a subtle red and he overpowered Ty's inhuman strength with his synthesized strength. Ty was thrown back through the wall into the hallway where Adam was. Adam fell back and cried out in shock as Ty slammed into the wall. Ty stared at Adam and narrowed his eyes.

Jason narrowed his eyes as the glow faded around his hands, "Still has bugs I see..."

Ty sat up and his hand reached for Adam's leg. Adam tried to scramble away but instead was dragged over to Ty his jaw smacking into the floor, he groaned. Ty stood and brought his spear to Adam's neck.

"Tell me where he is and or I wi--"

"Ha!" Jason interrupted, "Or you'll what?! Kill him? Torture him?" Jason snickered, "Be my guest, I can't believe you actually think I would care for someone's life."

Jason's yellow and orange eyes had a dark look to them, "As if I gave a rat's ass for a life, there are far more important things in this world than that."

Adam struggled against Ty, he couldn't believe what Jason had said, but he looked serious. As serious as if a child were being murdered before his eyes he wouldn't even bat an eye let alone lend a hand.

And it seemed even Ty could see that in the look that Jason gave him as if daring him to do it, daring him to kill Adam.

Why had no one walked in, could they not hear the commotion inside. Poor Adam did not realize no one was in the area because Ty had made sure of that.

"Fine," Ty pressed his spear against Adam's throat harder. He was scared, he didn't have the amulet on this time, if he died he would die for good. No respawn, no second chance, "No witnesses for your death Jason." Jason smiled at that remark and waited.

"E-eyes, purple eyes!" Adam croaked out, the pressure on his neck loosened and he immediately took in a deep breath.

Both Jason and Ty were shocked to hear those words from Adam's mouth.

"What did you say?"

"Purple...eyes...and snow white...hair. Right? That's...what he looks like."

Adam screwed his eyes shut to stop his world from spinning and to clear his head.

"You saw him! The prince! Where is he!!"

Adam didn't know, not for sure, "I..."

"Don't say a word Adam, you'll regret it," Jason warned. Adam's throat felt sore from nearly being choked.

"Tell me--"

"Voice Command. 002."

Jason interrupted Ty as he leapt high and kicked Ty in the face, his legs shimmered a faint green. Ty snarled and loosened his hold on Adam who tumbled to the ground. Ty reacted quickly and caught Jason and slammed him to the ground.

"Voi--"

"Don't even try," Ty pressed hard into Jason's throat cutting off all words. Ty looked to Adam, "I don't know how you know of him, but you will tell me what you know."

Jason chomped hard on Ty's hand and he held back a shout. Jason swung his foot up, the sound of bone cracking upon impact with a metal boat was heard as the boot connected with Ty's hand that went up to shield himself. Jason jumped up and kicked high aiming for Ty's face but the effects of whatever he did earlier had worn off. This left Jason unable to kick high enough. Ty slammed the back of his spear into Jason's stomach and sent him sprawling into the floor.

Jason had the wind forced out of him and the faintest trace of blood stained his teeth.

"Burn in the Nether you psychotic bastard!"

"Ha, kiss my ass," Jason smiled.

"No!" Adam yelled.

In a single moment Adam's whole world was shattered. Here he watched his hero plunge his signature spear clean through the spine of Rekrian's greatest mind. The sound of the bone splintering and the ear piercing scream froze Adam in place.

But Jason never stopped smiling, in fact even through the screaming his face was contorted in a grin and he made his last movement three taps of his finger on his head.

Then Adam saw Jason's body crack and smoke as every trace, even the blood, vanished as dust and smoke.

Jason Stars was the brightest man to live in Rekrium, he was also probably one of the most self-centered assholes in Rekrium too.

It's a shame such a mind was lost and so much research and knowledge never to be recovered with ease... Don't forget everything important was stored in that little brain of his.

Adam felt his own scream strangled in the back of his throat and the sound of Ty's labored breathing as he let go of the spear and cradled his broken hand. "Tell me wh--"

Adam summoned up hidden courage or cowardice, whichever you want to argue for it hardly matters, and high-tailed the fuck out of there. Adam burst through the door, the clearing was empty. Adam screamed.

"Help! Help, somebody help!"

Adam tripped and fell on his hands, the ground scraping at the skin of his palms. He winced and glanced behind him, a moment later Ty stormed out clutching his spear in his good hand.

Adam hesitated before Ty reared back and threw the spear, Adam had already stood up and ran by then so the spear missed. Adam spotted two recruits ahead who were rushing over to Adam.

"What the hell yo--"

"Help! Ty just killed Jason!" Adam intercepted and grabbed hold of one of them shaking them in fear.

They smacked Adam's hands off, "Ha! Get seriou--"

Adam ducked as he glanced behind him and saw Ty swing for Adam's head. He thought he wanted to talk, not kill him! The man Adam spoke to was killed and the other stunned to silence before he ran off screaming and yelling for help. Adam breathed heavily as he ran again, this time heading for the bridge that lead to the other side of the ravine.

His feet pounded down on the wooden planks. The wooden bridge shook, the bridge was suspended without supports from below so technically speaking this was one of the most dangerous parts of the AHD.

"Aah!" Adam held tight to the railing, Ty was behind him.

"Quit running you idiot, I am far faster than you."

"St-stop this, everyone can see you. They know you're a traitor."

A crowd of Players and OPs, mainly Players heard the noise and had begun to crowd around the area.

"Oi, what the nether did the dumb fake Player do this time, can't we go one week without this shit. Ya'll literally just came back from the End!"

"Listen to me--" Adam panicked as Ty took another step towards Adam on the bridge, Adam inched away, "Ty just killed Jason. I saw it, please believe me!"

The people around him snorted and laughed at Adam. Adam looked to Ty then to the people, Ty was inching closer to him. Adam couldn't believe what he was about to do.

He didn't have his amulet and once he did it he would die. Adam put one leg over the railing and the crowd stopped laughing.

"Don't you dare," Ty warned.

Adam gulped and pushed himself off the side, "No!" Ty yelled and tried to grab Adam as he fell.

Adam screamed as the people around watched, he screwed his eyes shut. He couldn't believe he did this.

He was dead, he was so fucking dead, and for what? Was all of this worth dying? As Adam fell he began to regret his decision, he almost wondered if he should've told Ty about what he knew, which granted wasn't much. But if he thought about it, Seto had a random baby with him in the End and it didn't seem like he rescued him by the way he referred to the baby as an it and by the way he treated him. If anything, Seto probably kidnapped the ch--No.

Adam continued to scream as he fell but tried to push such awful thoughts from his head. This was the AHD, the organization made to defend and protect all of Rekrium from monsters like zombies and Enders. There must be some logical reason behind Seto's actions. It was probably a disguise, the baby must have some sort of disguise and it was actually some sort of terrifying, bloodthirsty monster.

Adam stopped screaming, his pursuit for the ground was halted as a familiar feeling enveloped his body.

Seto's magic.

There was no way...Seto could be bad, right? He wouldn't kidnap an innocent child, right?

Lol, how was that.

I just killed Jason in kind of an awful way. Thougb if you realized the connection and that Jason was similar to curiosity from Adam's vision and the fact that history is kind of repeating then uh, should've been obvious that sometbing would at least happen.

Theories? Or maybe share your thoughts about the chapter, I enjoyed writing this and the next one is pretty neat too.
