Volume 1 {Chapter 2: Beacon}
It has already been a few weeks since Y/N was enrolled in Beacon. So far, his cover of a lost and unknown teen has been working fine and Ozpin, true to his word, has taught Y/N the basics of Remnant. It was a weird feeling for Y/N, being taught from another perspective but it does provide a better insight than what stories or writers would know and they are not too far off the mark.
Within the timespan, Ozpin had already unlocked Y/N's aura. The day after his enrollment, Ozpin had activated Y/N's aura which was a grey color. Feeling more flexible than what the {Gamer's Body} can give, Y/N can definitely feel more powerful. His semblance, on the other hand, wasn't discovered yet. Y/N can guess his semblance is his {Spirit Power}, the ability to master the elements within his soul, so he will have to wait until he needs to use it.
When Y/N had checked with his weapon, they were really upgraded with the {Upgrade} function.
His sword, Anubis definitely lived up to its namesake.
And Icaros would be the definition of durable but classy.
The {Gauntlet} Y/N had seen, well after getting his aura and waiting for nighttime, Y/N went to the central courtyard with his weapons to get more {Skill Points}.
One thing he noticed when he was using {ID Create} is that it creates an area that is invisible and inaccessible to anyone else other than him. He figured that out when Ozpin came to the courtyard to find him but didn't see Y/N fighting off a Deathstalker. Even the damages done to the courtyard in his dungeon weren't made when he escaped. So when Y/N suddenly appeared out of thin air, he had to make some lies happen and was punished for staying up late past curfew.
But after grinding a few times, using his magic to get through some of them since some, he finally had enough to get his {Gauntlet}. With all that looting, Y/N has also accumulated enough Lien to make the purchase of materials to make it.
Ozpin questioned Y/N about it and gave a reply that was beneficial. "I don't like the idea of mech-shifting my weapon every time I need to shoot. It takes too much time. Better get another weapon than to constantly shift one weapon to another." And with that, the {Gauntlet} was finished and named.
The {Gauntlet}, Creed was a masterful work of art. Even Y/N was surprised when the final product came out.
With its knuckles doubling as a grappling hook, Y/N can instantly grab on to smaller enemies or launch himself to larger ones. At the top, it also has a magnetic lock on Icaros so even if Y/N lost his shield, he can push a button in Creed and the shield will instantly come to it. It also has Dust canisters underneath it in case his opponents need a fist full of fire.
But for ranged purposes, well, you're gonna have to see it.
Ever since Y/N used {Heat Wave}, Ozpin wanted to see Y/N do it again but he evaded the question when he Y/N couldn't remember how he did it in the first place. Even with the same position and scenario, Y/N couldn't make that fiery slash back at the Emerald Forest so Ozpin can just chart it up to Fire Dust but he is still curious as to how he did it.
{Z-Target} increased Y/N's reaction speed 10-fold, handy against hordes of enemies when he needed to find a specific target or tell him if an enemy will strike.
Y/N then realized he hasn't used {Observe} in a while but guessed he didn't need to since he knows everyone and what will happen, but that didn't mean he should neglect his skills. The next time he meets a familiar person.
And with that, training in his dungeon and weapon maintenance, as well as learning more about Remnant, Y/N wanted to go to Vale and take a breather.
(I'll let you guys decide what he wears.)
Walking along the streets of Vale, Y/N wanted to take on a job to act as a cover for his expenses when he is grinding in {ID Create} and he also was bored.
Checking on his Scroll, it was the afternoon. Just an hour after 12, plenty of time to kill doing nothing. Looking at the many restaurants, Y/N grew hungry. "Well, I can eat a bit." But he didn't like big crowds in an enclosed space so Y/N kept looking around.
His nose was immediately hit with a smell. Y/N snapped his head to the side and saw an alleyway made from the gaps of big buildings around it. It reminded him of a similar place but shook it away, right now he was hungry.
Walking inside, he was greeted by the number of people here. Not much, a single policeman to keep the law but the locals there seemed friendly to him as he seemed to smile and greet each of them. The man seemed to have a scowl on his hardened face with a few scars on his face but melted when he greeted the people around him with a big smile. Walking to the man in uniform, he wanted some directions. "Excuse me."
"Yes?" The gruff man turned to Y/N as he greeted him. "How can I help you...?"
"Oh, the name's Y/N. Y/N L/N."
"Alex. Call me Alex. Now, how can I help you, Y/N?" The officer held his hand out to Y/N and shook his. Y/N can tell by the callouses and rough surfaces that Officer Alex has been through a lot.
"Yeah, I was wondering if there's a place I can eat around here."
Alex thinks for a moment before pointing to the building behind Y/N. "The shop there serves good bread and coffee. The taste was superb, try it out. Owner is a sweet Faunus, she manages the cafe all by herself."
Y/N looked at where he was pointing and saw a building merged with a larger. The front had a shader above along with a sign to the restaurant. 'Monty's...' "Wait, Montys!?"
Y/N couldn't believe what he was seeing. The creator's name, here. Being used as a storefront. He honestly didn't even consider the chances of it happening.
"Yeah, you know it?" Alex questioned Y/N as the sudden shout made some people look their way.
"Y-Yeah. Sorry, it's just... I just heard a good friend of mine died of the same name." RIP, Monty Oum. You left this world too early.
"O-Oh, I'm sorry for your loss."
"It's OK. Thanks for the info, Officer Alex."
"Call me Alex. See ya." And with that, Y/N left to the cafe.
Once he made it there, the entrance to it was small but had a home feel to it. The door had some intricate designs with a shader above to protect against the heat or rain. Once Y/N opened it, he was greeted with the interior.
(I'm not good at describing the interior, don't judge me.)
The smell of freshly baked bread filled his nostrils as the back door opened to see a Faunus, judging from the antlers on her head. It was a female deer Faunus. The Faunus wore a bright green shirt and jeans and wore an apron over her shirt. She was definitely old with how hunched her back was and the wrinkles on her face. Currently, she was carrying a tray filled with baked goods and walked to the counter.
While she walked, she tripped slightly and almost feel, if it weren't for Y/N as he rushed there and held the old Faunus. "Oh my."
"Are you alright, ma'am?"
"I'm quite fine, deary." Helping the lady put the bread at the display counter, Y/N let the old Faunus give her space. "Thank you for helping this old lady. Bones have been getting more sleepy."
Y/N smiled at the Faunus' commitment as he continued with the conversation. "No problem. Maybe you should rest for a while?"
The old lady huffed her chest at the statement. "Don't count the old lady out just yet. I've been running this shop ever since I was born. It'll take more than a trip to get me out."
Y/N silently laughs at her without showing pity. "I see." He then looks at the many pieces of bread there as his stomach growls.
The old lady heard it and laughed at it. "Well, go ahead. Pick one."
With that, Y/N picked a healthy amount of croissants, jelly-filled, empanada and garlic bread as his order. And when he took a bite, he felt the soft chewiness of the flour, the crusted edges of the bread and smell of butter brushed on it.
While he ate, the old lady smiled at the content the young boy was having. Pouring herself a cup of coffee, she waited for the teen to finish.
A few minutes later, Y/N was drinking some coffee provided by the deer Faunus while smiling contently. In all of his life before this, he had never tasted good bread like this before. "How was it dear? Did it taste alright?" He stared at the lady like she had grown another head but that made her laugh more. "I guess I shouldn't have asked. With how content you looked, I'll make this one on the house."
"Really? No, I can't accept that." Standing up, Y/N pulled out his Scroll to pay. "Let me pay for it."
"No thanks. I can't accept payment from first-timers. " The deer Faunus shook her head but Y/N persisted.
"Please. My conscience won't let me leave unless I actually pay." While he would just leave, people like the deer Faunus deserve more respect than that.
The old Faunus sighed to her self as this had happened a few years back. Shaking her head, she came up with something. "Well, since your so insistent..."

"Thank you for coming to Monty's." Y/N thanked another customer as the man in a suit grabbed a bag full of baked goods. He wore a white apron over his clothes as he confirmed the purchase.
"Sure thing. Take good care of Belle, you hear newbie?" The businessman walked to the door and opened it outside.
"I will." Was the last thing he said as the man nodded and left the store. Y/N slouched on the counter as he sighed a day's end. "And that's the last customer of the day. Better clean up."
Y/N grabbed a nearby broom and went to sweeping, wondering how he got himself here. As Y/N and the old deer Faunus argued about the payment, the Faunus made a deal with him. Work for her and she will teach him how to bake bread. It wasn't a bad deal since Y/N has never tried to make bread so he may as well try it. The deer Fauner was Anabelle but mostly everyone called her Belle since they knew her since childhood.
"That's enough." Y/N turned his head to see Belle, drying her hands with a towel. "I already put your pay on your Scroll. Remember to come at night to help me clean up here, if I have an emergency, I'll call you."
"Sure thing boss." Walking to a coat hook, he hanged the apron. "Thanks for taking me in."
"It was the only way to get you out of my hair. Now shoo, go do... whatever you kids are in these days."
Rolling his eyes, he exited the shop and saw it was 6 in the evening. If the sun had anything to say, exciting the alley he marked the location of his scroll and walked away.
Feeling he wanted more, he strolled around the city till nightfall.
Walking on one of Vale's shady district, Y/N had to keep his eyes peeled. Creed on his left arm calmed him down but still made him more anxious. Drunks and shady stores as far as Y/N knows, he kept his guard up for any surprise attacks.
When he heard the beat of some loud music, Y/N followed it to the source and saw a big building with a long line of people at the entrance. Lights in various colors, shifting in an uncomfortable patter and music Y/N swore should be demonetized and a bouncer at the line, Y/N found [Thre3 Bears Joint]. A classic nod.
Just as he was about to leave, the sound of a revved-up motorcycle made him stop. He knew that sound anywhere, why wouldn't he. This was the location where SHE appeared.
Turning his head, he has greeted the sight of a yellow and black motorcycle and the driver.
"Yang Xiao Long..." It was her, it was really her. Her signature golden locks, her looks, and lilac eyes. She stepped off Bumblebee as she checked her Scroll. Y/N decided to try out his {Observe} on Yang. Without looking like a stalker.

'Certainly helpful.' Y/N then noticed Yang went in the Club and knowing her, she'll likely wreck the place. Walking away from the mayhem, he walked the other way to the Bulldocks.
Turning to his left, he accidentally bumped into someone and they both fell on their butts. "Ow, sorry about that."
"Owie. My butt." Another familiar voice made him widen his eyes as he saw whom he just bumped to.
Y/N stood up at once and lent a hand to the fallen girl. "Sorry about that. I didn't see you there." He then used {Observe} on her.

"Likewise. Tell me, what's a little girl doing out here anyway? Its past curfew."
"I am not little, I drink milk." Ruby huffed her chest in denial about it. "I'm looking for Yang, you see her?"
Y/N tilted his head in fake confusion when Ruby asked where her Yang is. "No? I'm sorry I don't know who this 'Yang' person is."
Ruby put her finger on her chin as she tried to think of another solution and pounded her fist on an idea. She took out her Scroll and shoved it to Y/N's face. "Here you go." Grabbing on the Scroll, Y/N saw Yang and Ruby hugging each other with Yang and her knuckles on Ruby's head. "The blonde one. I heard she was here so... you see her?"
"Oh right, her." Y/N nodded as he gave Ruby back her Scroll. "She's just around the corner. She went inside a club though and I doubt they would let you in, Red."
"Its Ruby, actually," Ruby said her name to Y/N as she grabbed her Scroll from Y/N. "Thanks for the help, mister?..."
"Y/N. Names Y/N L/N. See ya, Ruby." And with that, Y/N walked alone that night.
Ruby looked at Y/N as he rounded a corner before blushing a deep red. 'OhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygosh, I talked to a boy!!!!' She covered her face with her hands as she tried to forget how nice his hands feel on hers. Firm yet soft with a squishy feeling...
'NoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNo, you promised dad that you would think about boys when I'm 17. And that's in 2 years.' Shaking her head, Ruby went to the club Y/N said and saw...
"Yang? What... happened?"

"Ah, welcome back, Mr.L/N." Ozpin greeted Y/N as he exited the Bullhead he was riding on. "I trust your walk in Vale was pleasant?"
"It was. Met new people and got a job now." Y/N smiled with the new friends he made.
"I see." Ozpin looked at his side and out came a bespectacled woman. "Mr. L/N, I would like you to meet the Deputy Mistress of Beacon and my assistant, Glynda Goodwitch."
"Mr. L/N, I assume?" The blonde asked as she walked closer to Y/N. "A pleasure to meet you, young man. Ozpin told me a lot about you."
"He did?" Y/N stared at Ozpin about it and went back to Glynda. "What did he tell you about me?"
Suddenly, Glynda's stare went ice-cold as she stared deep into Y/N. Even with {Gamer's Mind} which should allow clarity among all situations, Y/N can still feel his soul being stared and his spine went cold.
"Wondering alone in the Emerald Forest without aura, trespassing on school property and..." She trailed off as she stared at Ozpin next. "Enrolling a student without proper jurisdiction. You two need to think more before you decide such thoughtless acts. I hope you all learned a lesson in all of this."
Ozpin lightly laughed as he put a hand on her shoulder. "Now now, Glynda. I think Mr. L/N doesn't need to be reminded about his 'predicament'."
"Y-Yeah. I honestly can't remember how I got there in the first place. I'm really sorry about that." Looking away, feeling sorry for himself.
The Deputy sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "I'll let you go, for now. But if this happens again..." She took out her riding crop and smacked it against her hand. "There will be punishment, understand?"
Nodding immediately, Y/N agreed. If there's one thing he should know about women like Glynda, is that their rage is equally the same as a nuke. A very potent nuke.
"Good. Now, Headmaster, I will be off. Good night." And with that, Glynda boarded on a Bullhead straight for Vale. Knowing she's gone, Y/N breathed a sigh of relief.
"Man, she's scary. I'm gonna get used to 'that' stare again, am I?" Y/N whimpered as he shivered the thought of being starred by Glynda.
Laughing lightly, Ozpin took a sip of coffee. "Yes. Yes, you are." Looking at his watch, Ozpin cleared his throat. "I believe it is time you head back to your dorm, Y/N. And please, no sneaking out."
"No promises, Oz. See ya." Y/N ran to the school dormitory as Ozpin watched him go.
Smiling nostalgically, Ozpin looked at Y/N then his vision changed back then, a few years back he supposed.
It was Team Stark all over, with Summer leading her team with their very first mission as First years. Laughing at the arguments with Summer and Raven between choosing a mission, Ozpin walked to his personal room in the tower.
"This year will certainly be... interesting." Filling his heart of determination, Ozpin prepared for the long and hectic years he will endure more.
