Ygritte- Wildling (c)

Sometimes you had to question how you had gotten yourself into certain situations, but over the recent months you had been asking yourself such questions more frequently than normal. When you had lost contact with your brother, having not received a letter in several weeks, you headed up to Castle Black to see him in person. You knew that sometimes their work was strenuous, and he may have been so terribly busy with his time there that he had forgotten to contact you, or maybe the letter had been lost, which wasn't an uncommon occurrence with the dangers of Westeros.

When you arrived, you were told that your brother had been sent out with others of the Nights Watch past the wall, leaving your blood running cold. They told you his group was meant to have returned weeks prior but only one had survived claiming an altercation with Wildlings. You used every last gold piece to your name to gather supplies so that you could sneak past the wall and find him for yourself. Of course, you weren't so lucky, rather finding a group of Wildlings that had seemed to have formed their own army and was lucky to get away from them still alive.

Once again, things didn't want to run as smoothly as they could when a single Wildling snuck up on your and attempted to kill you, but instead you had managed to subdue her and tie her up as your prisoner. You had no idea what you were to do with her but as night begun to surround you, you were left alone with her in the ice-covered land, to set up a small makeshift camp. You didn't wish to light a fire, as there were too many dangers that could find you that way, instead, you sat closer to the wildling than you wished, trying to not succumb to the cold air.

"I'm surprised a Kneeler like you even knows how to use a sword," the woman whom you had learnt was called Ygritte snorted.

"Most noblewomen don't, my brother taught me so that he could attempt to beat me in a fight," you responded calmly, thinking back to your childhood.

Your brother had hoped if you knew how to use a sword, he could fight you and beat you rather than just using fists, but soon you were a better swordsman than he.

"Too buy in your pretty frocks," she grinned. "You lot just make it too easy for us to take back our land."

You rolled your eyes at her. "Then why do we still have it?"

She fell silent for a moment, shooting you a look.

"Anyway, it is better to wear a pretty frock than to smell like you washed yourself with a rotten fish carcass," you frowned.

The two of you shot quips back and forth at each other but soon it felt as though neither truly meant them as each line of insult resulted in the both of you laughing until the darkness and cold seemed to become too much.

"We must rest, I do not know how far we shall have to travel tomorrow," you stated, lying down on the cold grown, pulling her down with you.

"Is it proper for a noblewoman to lie with a free folk?" She smirked, letting you envelope her in your arms, not that her restraints offered any other option.

"It is not proper for any woman to lie with another but being a wildling barely makes you a lady, so I'm sure I can be let off."

Ygritte rolled her eyes, pushing herself back against you, with the claim of taking your warmth but truly she enjoyed the closeness between the two of you.

"Goodnight, my little wildling," you whispered into her ear.

"I shall make you regret your words in the morn," she responded.

"I'll hold you to that," you yawned allowing that to be the final words spoken between the two of you before you allowed slumber to take you both.
